So I've uncovered the Mortiking twice but it had coffins all around it both times. Does that not count toward the achievement?

There cannot be any coffins covering the picture for the achievement. It helps if you are playing on Medium or Hard mode as the area is bigger.
Does anyone know how long super-shovel effect is valid per shovel?

I just tested it out on all the levels, and it seems like the super shovel lasts exactly 5 seconds (unless you get multiple in a row, of course).
Thank you ❤️ I felt like the sinking earth stressed me out and I wasn't counting right xDD

No problem! I counted quite a few times myself just to be sure, it was stressing me out too in the beginning. :P
I'm so irritated right now. Last night, almost uncovered the Winged Skelly entirely (IIRC, it was 3x4?) before running out of points.
Just a little while ago, ALMOST uncovered the Mortiking skeleton completely before running out of points. Both on easy.
I feel ya, I've hit 2 mortikings so far, first one had coffins on it, I don't know what I did wrong with the second, I thought I uncovered the entire thing but I didn't get the achievements, so I probably missed part of it? x___x

Yeah, it's possible that you missed a square or two maybe. It is difficult to uncover them all quickly enough as it scrolls by, and then you have to get lucky enough to not have any coffins or tombstones covering it. D:
I'd recommend playing on hard if you're mainly trying to uncover the skeletons, since it gives you more shovel points and it's a bit easier to clear larger areas searching for them without running out.
Oh I only just noticed the orange box around the game for when the super shovel is activated.
Just found my 3rd mortiking for today and out of shovels xD sigh

Great question! I'll update the Tile info to include the seconds for Super Strength as well as the orange/red box effect.
If we have a solid confirmation that the entire skeleton must be uncovered, I'll add a tip that says the entire Mortiking (and probably all skeletons, really) must be free of coffins to count for the achievement. I don't believe rope ladders affect the achievement. Unfortunately, I can't say for sure as I already had most of the achievements. If I could get a yay or nay on that, I'll throw that info in there too!
[=8] Yeah, I don't think the ladders affect it, but I'm pretty sure from last time the game was out as well it was that the skeletons had to be completely free of everything (including the coffins).
Quentin does indeed show up on easy difficulty, I found them at least 3 times there. I have all, but tge Kumos skelly. I can't seem to find it anywhere. Been lucky to get them all on the first time seeing them though.
Just wondering: are all the "uncoverables" available in every single game? Because if they are, I must be super unlucky. I've played a truckload of times already, my hand hurts, I'm just trying for the achievements, not for the depth or points, and I haven't seen any skulls nor any part of the mortiking.
No, they show up randomly so you're not guaranteed to see one in every game you play. It can take quite a few games before finding all of them, so you could just be particularly unlucky. :c
I've played a zillion games and I've yet to even see the wizard n__n They are pretty rare

=8 Thank you for the handy guide! There's a lot of cool trivia already ❤
I found out something about the cave-ins today! It's not Game Over when your character reaches the top - it's Game Over when the deepest spot you dug reaches the top. So if a drill dug a long chute for you, that might save your behind! (that's actually how I found out, lmao)
I second that thought that there are fixed layouts and not randomly generated ones - for hard mode there might be at least three different maps, for example. (one without drills at the beginning, one with drills at the center and one with drills at the far sides) I don't know whether I'll have time but maybe it's easier to just record the playthrough while strip-mining so then you can stop everytime you need to take a closer look?
If I'm aiming to uncover the mortiking skeleton, does it matter which row I'm digging, or is it recommended to stay around the middle? Another question, if I keep getting the same layout, the skeletons will show (or not) randomly, right?
Also, you for the guide, [=8]! It helped me visualize the Quentin Skull, which I got yesterday! (If we could get prizes for how many times we unlocked discoverables, I'd be on the right track with the Wizard Skull, sheesh!)
Thank you for the edit! Could be a game-saving tip to look out for, so I added it to the tip list if that's okay. ^^ I haven't thought about a recorded play-through, before. My intention was to strip-mine everything and screenshot it, then piecemeal it together in photoshop. I think, if the maps do remain the same, if the goal is only to reach the bottom for send-scores, perhaps there could be a specific route to reach the bottom the quickest (depending on the map you have, of course). Being that skeletons are definitely random, once we have them all, we may end up reaching that point. That is, until they update achievements to keep count on how many skeletons we've dug up ^~
I thought about adding a tip that states to do exactly that, stay in the middle to uncover the mortiking skeleton because it is so large. The problem is, depending on the level you're playing, there's a lot of blocks in the middle that take up time, space, and shovel points. If you're feeling lucky, you can take a chance and stick to one of the far left or right 3 columns and hope. If you don't mind trying the middle, I say go for it. If you happen to catch the bugger without any tiles on it, I wouldn't mind a screenshot of your success! :D
[=8] uncovering the mortiking skeleton is so hard! I've found it a handful of times, but it's always been covered with at least one tile, and if by chance I don't find the tile, I can't seem to uncover it in time. Oh and I mostly play on easy because the other two levels take waaaay too much time, haha
If I get lucky enough to get the achievement, I'll do my best to get that screen shot for you!
