I just got my first tattoo! Last Friday. It's a pink and purple furby with claws on a purple background. It sounds lame but it's pretty great. (I collect furbies and other vintage toys so that's kinda just a part of who I am, which is why I chose that) If you're not sure, go with something small but of course make sure you're going to be able to live with it forever. If it's important enough to you, that's all that matters. I never thought i'd get one as i'm deathly afraid of needles, but it wasn't so bad, and my artist was very supportive. I'm actually planning my next two already!

My first tattoo was a simple homage to my pets that have passed away (I guess I'm a crazy cat lady :P). I am working on saving up for my next one for my dad who passed away 4 years ago.

My suggestion to you is this - don't worry about what other people think of it - just get what you feel makes you happy and will not ever be a regret in your life. It doesn't necessarily have to mean something, just try to make sure it isn't a "fad of the week" in your life....

my first one was the bride of Frankenstein, it was done by a beginning artist and i got it for a flash design price. it's wonderful and i love it.

i always get comments on it, "WHY would you get that?" or "that's so tacky!" because it is on my shoulder and you can see it when i wear short sleeve or no sleeve shirts.

i simply answer to them - "because i like it." which is true, i added frankenstein, a skeleton hand, and a zombie skeleton girl onto my arm as well. still get those same comments.

i agree with the above poster - make sure it's something you absolutely LOVE ❤ don't let other people's opinions of it influence you because it is your body and life. :)
