Drew went along with Magnus, but he wasn't fooled. As the other boy stopped, Drew looked at Magnus. "Why don't you want to see them?" he asked.

Lottie heard the others approaching and gave a smile. She muttered to some of the pixies and tempted them with treats. The pixies flew around the Thestrals carefully dropping their glittering dusts on them so that those who couldnt see them would see their OUTLINE. They were indeed beautiful...she wish she had meat on her...having studied that they were carnivorous.

The Thestrals didnt seem to mind as the dust was harmless and the pixies were to small a morsel to eat.

Lee heard and smelled the group coming closer. He turned and made his way back to greet them shifting up as he went.

When he got up to Magnus he moved quickly, and in one fluid motion punched the young kid in the face, knocking him on his bottom. He glared down at him. "Next time you think about ratting out someone, BOY, "he said with a snarl, "think about it longer..."

Drew bit his lip and gave a slight nod at Magnus' question. "Yes," he said quietly. "I told you that we moved here because...well because my grandfather was dying. He wanted the entire family together again."

Drew was shocked as Lee changed back and came over to them. And then... "Lee! What the hell??!" he exclaimed.

Charlotte watched Lees movement and knew something was going to happen...so she took out her cellphone and filmed it.

She walked back on the branch to the group. "I asked the pixies to make the thestrals outlined for those who cant see them." then more quietly to Drew. "Im sorry about your grandfather..." she gave him a sympathetic look.

Magnus fell flat on his bum and lip split open, drawing blood. He looked up at Lee. "Sorry for being concerned." Blood showed on his teeth. He put his hand on his lip. His eyes narrowed with anger. But he slowly, steadily got up and moved away from them up the path they had come, still in sight. Sure, he thought bitterly, tell me not to go off but two people who've never been here do it and I show concern. See this is what I get for caring. He was so sick of it. Why couldn't things be simple? His lip was bleeding so he rummaged in his bag and pulled out a cloth. And...she filmed it? His heart sank. What the hell had he done that was so bad?

Lee watched the kid walk away, and wiped his bloody hand on his pants. "Sorry for your loss, Drew," he said quietly, still staring down the path. Then he got out his wand, and did a clean spell, on himself and any blood on the ground.

She sighs and blinked down at Lee. "You hit him..." she didnt know what to say...

"My..." it took Drew a moment and then he shook his head. "thanks. But what the hell was that all about? Magnus didn't do anything! And do you not know that thestrals love the smell of blood...you...bark brain!" he snapped, reverting to the term Lottie had used before.

Lee turned to look at Drew, and his eyes were ice cold.

"He ratted me out. Our house sticks together, we don't screw our mates over. Guess that's why he's a 'claw." He shrugged. "He's had that coming a long time, and you wouldn't understand. Told you we had history."

Magnus reached in his bag and pulled out the essence of dittany, leaning his head back he poured it on his lip. The wound hissed and then looked several days old, only slightly fat lip now. He put the potion back in his bag. He was glad he left his bird in the dorm now. Magnus wondered if he should leave. It seemed everywhere he went he just seemed to create problems. He was tired of caring, tired of trying to do the right thing. It just seemed to get him hurt or in deeper. He was so lost.

She had to chuckle at Drew using her own word for Lee. "Oh my gosh, Im sorry...its just funny it caught on." She wasnt going to get in the middle of it...wasnt her place. "If youd like Drew, I can help you up to a nice safe spot on the branch to get a good look at the Thestrals...I didnt bring any meat treats along...and you might want to keep your pup back as they are carnivores..." she smiled friendly...also hoping it would be a nice distraction.

Drew's eyes narrowed and his fist clenched at his side. He knew there was no way he take on Lee and win, but damn it was tempting. "He wasn't trying to screw you over, you ass," he said. "He knows these woods. We don't. That's just a simple fact, Lee. And yeah I guess I don't understand. I don't understand why you pretended everything was alright and that you were his friend only treat him like shit because he licked your girlfriend. A long time huh? You've known him what, Lee? A week? A month? Yeah, real long time there, man." He turned away. "You and Lottie have fun together. I've got to check on my friend...who just happens to be a 'claw."

Her head tilted. 'Are you serious?' she thought. She looked down at Lee her brow raised a bit.

"Nice to see how loyal you are to your house, Drew. Be sure he uses a spell to clean himself up, you know, Thestrals and blood and whatnot."

He snorted, and looked away, then looked up at Charlotte. "What..?" he demanded. "You going to tell me that he didn't deserve that...? After all the crap he has put you through..?" He grumbled and lit a cigarette, not caring if there were prefects or not.

He heard, how could he not? The words pounding on his ears. He didn't like fighting. He felt like he was driving a wedge between Lee and Drew, who were friends. A thestral had wandered over to Magnus, drawn by the smell of blood. It started licking his shirt. Magnus hadn't thought about cleaning it off. He shoved the nose away and did a cleaning spell. The thestral snorted and slowly turned away.

Whirling back around, Drew just couldn't let it go. He took a couple of steps and grabbed Lee by the jacket. "Listen damn you," he said. "You and Lottie and I are all from America, right? Well you tow have each other. I have no one. Magnus was my first friend here. He's just a kid but he's been through hell. Yet he was friendly and upbeat and made me feel welcome. And yes I have longed to be a snake all my life, but you know what? You...and people like you...are the very ones I always feared. People that judge you based on your bloodline, or your nationality, or your house. I can't do that. I can't turn my back on a friend just because of a different house. Houses don't matter. People do!" With that he shoved Lee back a step or two and stalked off toward Magnus.
