Yeah, I'm not usually up this early, but the people upstairs have been making a habit of waking me every night (2-4am).... and I finally texted my brother-in-law (he's the landlord of the building) telling him I can't do this anymore. I think the people downstairs are over it too because they started to bang on the wall... so yeah, now I'm up. Although things are quiet once more so I may try to catch a few zzz before the sun comes up... I'm about ready to move out. And I told my BIL that! Hopefully this makes him do something about it, rather than telling me we all gotta get along... sigh

That sucks Jenn. I hope you're able to get it resolved, and maybe the other neighbor will complain too. Dare I ask what they're doing so late at night to wake you up?

You know Mina, at first we thought they were moving furniture around. Then we thought they were sawing wood (I swear that's what it sounds like). But hubby thinks they have a very noisy bed (I'm sure you can figure out from there what they're doing). Whatever it is, it's obnoxious and I'm just tired of losing sleep. Then to rub salt in the wound, today was trash day, so I brought mine down to put into our bin and bring it out front, only to find that the 3rd floor put theirs in it and filled it.... now I can deal with someone putting trash in my bin, but to leave it out back and not bother to bring it up front really irritated me. Hubby and I do not generate a lot of trash because we recycle a lot, so there are weeks when we don't need to put our bin out. But really, if you're gonna use ours, at least have the courtesy of bringing it up so that it's emptied when the truck comes. I just want to run away. Now that it's Friday night, there will be people showing up and plenty of noise will happen tonight....

Jeez Jenn, I can't believe they're so inconsiderate! If your town has any noise ordinances, you could always log a report with your local PD as well as your BIL. Hopefully now that he's aware of it he can try to take care of the problem as soon as possible. It sounds like the whole situation is incredibly stressful, and that's certainly not what any tenant signs up for!
