Bit of a somber weekend here. Tab (my roomie and the girls aunt) got a call from her best friend Friday morning. Her 17 year old daughter slipped in the bath getting ready for school and hit her head. Unfortunately something clogged the drain, tub filled with water and she drowned. Tab's a wreck, Toni's a wreck and Im just kinda just helpless and wondering how I can help

Wow, Jess, that is just awful. My heart goes out to them. Such a terrible accident.

I haven't painted in years, feel self-conscious & scared to muck it up. I'm trying to remember what grandma told me as well as the classes I took. I'll eventually get down to painting but right now I'm trying to draw a basic layout and I'm struggling, a lot. I'm also doing a major clean of the closet so the living room is a mess. Can't paint for a while but hopefully in a few weeks :)

It's horrid news. In part, try to focus on yourself; it's tough when you care about people and they go through a tough time but don't let it bring you down otherwise you're no good to yourself or to them. Oftentimes with grief & stress, appetite can vary: either increase drastically to eat one's emotions (in that case try to get them some healthy snacks) or severe loss in appetite (more frequent, in that case what can really help is making some food for them and make sure they eat a little, sit with them, keep them company while eating to help bring appetite). If they wind up closing themselves off from the world try to encourage them to go for a walk with you, go sit in a park, exercise (even mild) can help reduce stress.

If they need to vent their feelings it's ok but also try to set a time limit so they don't dwell on it all day all the time. Find other things to do, be it colour mandalas, watch funny movies, etc. or let energy out... punching bag, declog all the drains, find a positive outlet for the pain.

Toni's holding it together for the most part. She and Bri were friends but they didn't hang out as much as she would have liked and she has her regrets. And unfortunately she's no stranger to grief. She still breaks down and cries over her aunt and it's been just over two years, but then so do I. I still haven't cleaned her room out.

Tab's been with Kim every day since it happened, coming in about midnight and heading straight to bed because she has to work. Tomorrow is the funeral and then they're having a benefit on Monday to help with costs and stuff. Such a tragedy.

time will help reduce the pain and bring back to the surface the good memories. No matter how short a time a person is with us it's what they do that will influence and mark us. They live on in our memories.

I'll post pics Jess :) Ugh, I saw Tab's post and knew she had lost someone close to her :( I'm so very sorry to hear about this terrible tragedy. Sometimes you just have to be there when they need you. It's late, and I had a very long day. I'm surprised I'm still awake, to be honest. Gotta be up early. TTFN!

LOL, I stared at that scratching my head too. I haven't thought about making alchemy stuff for a while.

LOL sorry. The item in question was [item=Alchemy Token: Wearable] One of the things that came along while you were MIA is alchemy. If you go to the Philosopher's Store you can see he sells cards, tinctures, and tokens. Once you buy up a load of stuff, you'll be able to start making items. You need to make yourself a zombie before you can visit the Alchemist He will take your items and make stuff like books, plushies, minions, and wearable. The token is for what kind of item you want. The cards are for the layer your wearable belongs in. For example the hats they came out with goes with the [item=Layer Card: Hat]. Tinctures are for the color of the item. You have to be at a certain level to make things (the place where you make the items tells you what level alchemy you're at). So the new items you have to be at least level 20. All items with their levels and their combos can be found HERE

I have work the next couple days and then we're headed on a road trip back up to Washington. We're having a memorial for my uncle and seeing family that lives up there and some more on the way down the coast in case we never see them again at this rate since we lost 5 family members in as many months and then having another memorial for my other uncle before coming back home. Not a happy reason for a trip but I'm excited to show my son back home because he doesn't remember it and to see everyone i haven't seen in years.

I think I'm gonna weed out most of my ping groups. I spend so much time clearing alerts when I get the chance to come I'm here, I never have time to actually play or chat!! lol I have to get up in less than two hours so I better go : hugsall

Hi all just popping in to catch up a little bit, life has been a little bit crazy, work has been really busy and then spare time I have been using on my grandsons.. This weekend Im taking the hubby and going to visit friends for the weekend. I hope they figure out what is wrong with you car soon and it isnt crazy expensive Im sorry for your loss and have a safe trip I read about what was going on with Tab on facebook and was heartbroken sending you lots of strength to help her through all this.

So i managed to go 269 days and not miss the stupid bath house and now that i have messed that streak up I have missed 2x in the last 10 days lol. One day I will get that achievement.
