ya know I was thinking about the town parade yesterday while running errands and I got home and realized they had already done it. I really, really wish they would have waited until this weekend to do it. I don't know why they rush it. Would have been a nice little something to see since I haven't seen a town parade in over 15 years.

I see you have almost all your family listed, hehe. Also, Insane Family Members has me loling big time. Only because we've all been one of those family members for Christmas (and if not, your turn is coming, haha).

the real one is in Rovaniemi (Lapland), where Santa lives... but here (in Italy, but I suppose also in other countries) a few cities organize tiny villages in squares with houses, stands, etc, selling food, toys and handmade items (I don't know if you can see this picture) :) sometimes there are people dressed as santa or santa's helper, elven, and bagpipers and dancers. And... I've a couple of friends that volunteers as elven ;) maybe I'll catch a present or two directly from Santa!

yeah my family is the most important thing to me year round but this time of year I am so thankful for them. I love seeing their faces when they open their gifts, I love making them all happy, even the crazy ones haha.

Much better than jokes about ancient red bricks from the attic. xD Did you have an Eastern or Western ? The Western kind is usually darker and denser The Eastern fruitcakes are better because it's your usual fluffy sugary bread before it gets boozed up. I forgot the Spanish brand that sells by the box in bundt.

ooo! So fun! There was a reindeer "farm" near where I lived growing up, showing the differences between reindeer and caribou (which were native up there.) So fun. They are really soft. Can't wait to hear about your encounter. :D

oh my goodness, I know all about piggies aka pigs in a blanket (that's what I grew up knowing them as). My great-grandma used to make them during the month of December and sometimes January. :)
