There is an expression in my country: Heart follows action. Sometimes we have to do the motion first. In the 12 steps programs they all advocate DOING. Even if it's empty. The feeling of "filling" often follows. It works for MOST people, so it is recommended by all. That's my tiny understanding of it.

It was funny only looking back at it, 50 years later. I was not traumatized, because 5 years later when I started earning allowance and baby-sitting money, I bought horse-back riding classes with my own money!
