My real life flock got bigger, my mother went and adopted a box of quackers. Which meant a hasty setup for the back corral.

But tomorrow I'll be off. We're going to visit family in Mexico. And we're having rabbit [I]flautas [/I].

I lived in Ohio when I was Stateside (but you knew that ) ;) and though I loved the Autumn colours, I hated the winters. I am so happy to be in the desert! we have ummer for about 8 months of the year and very mild winters, even though we are only 15 minutes from Jerusalem, which is colder. We lived in the Golan Heights for 1 year but that was too cold (besides my hubby not having found work there). It's good to be happy where I am. Our house is too big to clean. So I started calling it a clubhouse and stopped worrying about it. :P

One weekend we were just 2 home and it was weird. There are rooms I never go in. I guess that happens though, that's why people move. It sure is nice when people come over. Nice when they leave too :D hehehe (We had nearly a full house Friday night for dinner and they slept over since we don't travel on the Sabbath; most of them left about an hour ago and it is blissfully quiet). I love that they can come and go. though! ;)

[edit] Yay! I got a lifelike bumbos I didn't have for trading in 5 lifelike wearables I did. Hmmm.... worth about 5 of them. Not great math that! hehehe

It was odd for my family when we moved to this location. We all shared one room. There were no utilities, and it was sparsely populated. Hell, the last thing we got was running water, about five years or so.

I'm the only one who hasn't left.

That's a good Idea,Calling your home a Clubhouse,You shouldn't have to worry about your house Hey,they come to see you not your house right :D I could get into having summer 8 months out of the year,with mild winters.The older I get the colder I get.We have an older lady that moved below us,she keeps her heat up when it starts getting cold.So since she has lived there my feet are so warm,before that I couldn't get them warm for nothing & I wear socks all the time even to bed so my feet aren't cold =) I'm happy where I am for now also :D

Just you alone in a big house? I thought you mentioned two of you? Either way, if it feels too big that is a distraction. When I was in cold climates we closed off parts of the house in the winter so not to heat the entire thing. Now I just have to shut windows at night and most of the time it's enough. They are hard to open and my shoulders can't push and pull like they did in the past, so sometimes it's stuffy until someone else does it. ^shrug^

It's good to be happy with one's lot. Not an easy task!

It is, just me and my mother. We do the same, during cold weather the hallway is closed off. So as to only heat the dining room.

Update on my sister Karen: She had to go back in the hospital on Friday for fluid buildup and then overnight she had a heart attack. This has knocked her completely out of the running for a liver transplant. She is still in hospital and I will be talking to Palliative care today to see about getting her home so she can be with her family when she dies. This means hospice. She is not altogether lucid and still having problems with the fluid buildup, including a huge fluid filled blister on her left foot that is extremely painful. The doctors say the fighting is over. Now she is to enjoy what little time she has left with her family and tell them all that she wants them to know before she passes. They are going to get her to an optimal state in the hospital and then send her home to be with us for as long as possible. Hopefully, she will make it out of the hospital. It's been a long fight but it's over and we now just need to make her as comfortable as possible and enjoy what little time we have left with her. I thank you all for all the prayers and good thoughts and donations. We could not have made it this far without all of you. I'm sure if Karen was lucid enough she would be thanking y'all as well. I know she appreciates you all.

I won't be online much in the near future and have been absent this week dealing with all of this. I just need to see her through her homecoming now.
