Don't I know it. You are always one of the first to put up decorations and the pictures I've seen are all so elaborate. We usually just put up a tree somewhere around the 20th and that's mostly the extent of our decorating. Iceblue is a very pretty color though, so I bet it'll be amazing.

Hendrik and I usually have a little gift-exchange but money ran a little tight so we're doing it a little later. We did go to his parents for gourmet and some fun and games, so there's that. Sounds like all you got was a lot of yummy food XD?

Wait, aren't you two familiar with that? That's how it usually goes after you reach a certain age and learn the inevitable truth that Sinterklaas is in fact not alive. Writing your name on a piece of paper and then assemble the pieces and randomly draw a piece of paper, the name on that paper will be the person you're gifting. Usually accompanied with a poem and/or a surprise - some people really went crazy with that, but in ensured a really fun day :3

We keep our house so cold that I am sure you won't want to change places. lol We are trying to save money on utilities so the house is colder than I would like sometimes. On very cold days, I cuddle up in the recliner with a blanket and a cat. That assumes the cat agrees to the cuddle. ;)

Oh I hear you on the cat. Mine loves cuddling, but only when I do not have the time to actually commit. Whenever I do have time, there's no cat around that wants to cuddle x) It's like they know when it's the most inconvenient.

And yeah, considering I'm currently on the couch with a blanket over my legs and a cup of tea ... I don't think I'd like to trade that for a cold home. Must be tough with the expenses if you're trying to keep the thermostat lower :c

The old job was temporary (so I knew it would end, but it ended after 3 months instead of the 4 months they promised). The new job is at a small company and is a fixed one! No more interim :) I start 02 January, but I am looking forward to it.

No, not familiar with that! I guess it is only done in the Netherlands, and not in Belgium. Over here Sinterklaas is only for children, so when you stop believing there is nothing else. It is not celebrated by adults, so that is why I enjoy it that my mom still gets me some candy. :)

Our reasons for keeping it cold are both expenses and us being ridiculously stubborn. My sister broke down a couple times and turned up the heat a couple degrees because she admitted it was silly to be that cold. ;) Our previous house was smaller and held heat much better than the current one so the bills are larger.

I know for a little while now that i need surgery. And today i got already a date. They wanted to help me tomorrow already. But i can't do that at this moment.There are holidays we can't miss anyone at the store at this moment. So now the date is for 10 january

I guess that makes sense. He comes to the Netherlands on the 5th and then Belgium on the 6th. We cannot excpect the old man to do both countries on the same day. :p

We are having some people over next week so we will do a little decorating. I love putting just lights on a tree though I admit it has been a long time since we put up a tree. Right now, I don't trust one of my cats with a tree. ;)

I'm going to set the tree up next weekend for the first time, and I have 2 kittens, so I hope they won't start jumping the tree xD

I had one cat who only sat under the tree and another who climbed it until it fell. We caught it just in time. Perhaps you should anchor your tree so at least it can't fall?
