Haha no I'm only working one job, don't worry. Last year over the course of the year though I worked 3 places is what I meant.. so I want to just work one place this 12-month period ;) NYE was low-key. Friends came over and we had a great meal and drank way too much and played a few games. Watched the ball drop along with Mariah Carey's career and called it a night!

What did you do?

Oh! That makes sense. It seems like you're settled in a good place though, so the odds are looking good, unless something unexpected happens ;)

Sounds nice. I'm really starting to appreciate those nights in more and more. Going out to a club or party on NYE just isn't as fun anymore.

Haha, yeah, poor Mariah. She's had quite the rollercoaster year. To be fair it seems like the production was a mess, so it's not all on her. Despite the fact she's a crazy diva I still have a soft spot for her, for whatever reason.

Yeah it's a great spot! I officially took over as manager last Wednesday... so this is my first full week on the spot coming up and it's already so much busier of a job for me. It's great!

Yeah the clubs are expensive to get into.. the ubers all surge and everyone is sloppy and annoying xP A night in is better for me!

She was a huge diva about it though.. and her dancers still managed to be professionals! -facepalm-

I know what you mean. If your job is too slow the day can really drag. It was like that when I worked at Costco ages ago. Not enough variety to keep you busy. Have they talked to you about what will happen when the other manager comes back? I imagine it would be hard to go back.

Yeah, so true. And you always end up disappointed after. It's never as good as you think it will be. I was talking about this with my friends, and we all agreed. The only party we thought lived up was this boat cruise on the lake we did years ago.

I was reading some stuff online, and other people who've sung professionally were saying it's really hard to sing live if you can't hear your ear mic, especially at a really loud, outdoor event. A dance is choreographed so if you catch one beat you're in, and can follow everyone else, but for singing, you really need to hear the music and your voice. They likened it to trying to sing with noise cancelling headphones on. She handled it badly for sure, but I have some sympathy, too.

There hasn't been any kind of official talk about it no.. but it's more than a year away at this point. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it!

You're too kind. We were dying here haha.

Makes sense. Who knows, a lot of moms don't even go back. A year is a long time.

Like I said, I have a soft spot for crazy Mariah. She was amazing back in the day. Writing all her own songs and music and stuff, unlike pop artists today. I sound like I'm getting old and cranky haha ;)

So what'd you get for Christmas?

Lots of small things - candy, pjs, etc. And a promise from my parents to go shopping for houseware stuff when I get my new place :) I've been buying and hoarding things I need, since there's so many sales on at the moment, too. What about you?

BTW - how are you doing on NY points? I'm kind of glad everything was cheap this year, so I can finally start to catch up on older years' stuff. NY is the one event where I still have a lot from other years to get.

Have you taken a serious look at any places yet?!

I got small stuff too C: PJs, candles, puzzles, kitchen gadgets, etc. It was mostly just nice to be home with family!

The newest year's stuff is always cheapest. I went through this morning and wishlist-ed everything I need from all the years.. and I'm going to need a lot of tokens. Ugh. I'm prioritizing collectibles and then food items and then wearables. I doubt I'll get everything I want just since you can only accumulate so many points a day.

Oh my goodness! That's exciting, but not so much if you need to get out and go places. Last year I dug our car out with a bucket because we don't have any shovels and we needed to go to work haha

I'm right there with you on getting my own place. (well, with Josh) haha it will feel great being on our own. I'm super grateful of the help my mom gives us, but it will be nice when we don't need it. Loving your icy HA!

As of right now we just got back from getting food, and I'm just questing on here to get more NY tokens for the past years plushies and beanbags that I never collected before. Josh is playing a Zelda game. How are you guys? ^_^

I need sooooooo many NY tokens. I organized my craft room this afternoon.. I didn't completely finish but I got a lot done! Just had dinner and we're waiting on Nathan's sister now. She's coming over to watch Harry Potter with us.

I just did the quiz the other day and apparently I'm a Slytherin xP I've never read the books or seen all the movies. I just started reading the first book the other night!

Oh cool! The books are incredible, but so are the movies. It's actually the only movie-book adaptations where I actually think the movies did a good job of following the books. I identify more with Hufflepuff, but I tend to test into Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw. Eiher is fine lol

Yeah I didn't really think I'd be a Slytherin.. but I don't know much about the houses yet to identify with one. I'll let you know when I get more into the books ;)

Sorry to barge in, (I hope strangers are welcome here) but I noticed y'all are talking about the Mariah Carey disaster. Apparently, her ear phones weren't working, so she had to take them out, but she couldn't hear the bands music either due to the noise in Times Square. So she couldn't even lipsync, either. Basically, a bunch of audio issues.

And on the subject of Harry Potter: what's everybody's favorite character? And has everyone else been sorted yet?
