We had a phonecall at 9:30 last night to say that Grandad was then going to have his operation - this morning apparently he's been asking questions the entire time, so it sounds like it was successful :D He's not allowed to sit up for a few more hours yet, but he'll have physiotherapy tomorrow, and I'm assuming that they'll then be able to say if he's regained the ability to walk or not (obviously they have no idea until they try moving him)
