Yeah, the layering can change the look a lot. ;) It worked really nicely! I got several things to start a new hobby in the new year--bird watching. I got a guide to birds from nation geographic, a log book with space for a drawn or taken picture as well as info on the find, a pair of pocket sized binoculars and a telescope xD pretty excited. since we love birds, I thought I'd share

Ooo, that sounds awesome! I love birdwatching. ;) My parents got me a pair of binoculars for Christmas when I was probably about 8 years old, I still use them. xD The pocket sized ones are really nice, some of those huge binoculars get really cumbersome. Those log books come in really handy! It's cool that it has a space for a sketch or photo. :D One year my parents also got me a "bird-identiflyer," it has little electronic cards you insert that play specific bird songs. :D As a result, I can now identify most local birds by their calls alone. It really helps when you know what you are looking for. xD

I think they have phone apps now that work in a similar way. :D It helps a lot. I thought about becoming an ornithologist at one point, so I wanted to learn as much as I could about birds. ;)
