awww xD yes it is. aww thanks :D Not yet no. You can help if you'd like lol.
I know I should stop worrying, since there is nothing I can do anymore. xD Unfortunately, logic doesn't apply to my anxiety. Hehe. xD Oh, I can try! Is the gryphon male or female?
hugs Anxiety is the worst. xD laughs Okay, I will have to think on it for a bit. ;)
yeah I know what you mean. haha. I typically don't pick a gender till I settle on a name
Yeah, it's no fun. I used to get daily panic attacks until I was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and the doctor put me on medication. It was a nightmare! That's a good way to do it. xD I often end up picking ambiguous names for my pet birds, because often it is hard to tell whether they are male or female as babies.
oh dear that sounds awful. oh yeah, the hole, feel this bone and you'll know o.0. I had a cockatiel I decided he was male lol but I really didn't know.
It was. =( Luckily I don't get panic attacks nearly as often, now. :D Yeah. xD Some birds you can tell when they get their adult plumage, others you can't. Lorikeets have very subtle differences, including how much yellow they have on their chest and what shapes their beaks are. Based on my research, Disco is male, but it can be very difficult to tell. xD
good :) he was a white faced one, but I thought he looked slightly broader in the chest lol. Lorikeets sound hard to take care of based on what I read, is this true?
Oh yeah, it can be harder to tell with the white faced ones. x.x. Usually the males have more pronounced lines between facial colors, and the females have more of a soft gradient. It can be tricky to figure out, though. Yeah, lorikeets are pretty high maintenance birds. Definitely not a good bird for a first time bird owner. They eat a very specialized diet. I have to order Disco's food online every month because no pet stores around here carry it. xD They eat nectar and fruit in the wild, so I get a special lorikeet nectar mix that can be fed wet or dry, and I give him lots of fruit. Since lorikeets have a mostly liquid diet, they have, ummm, projectile poo. xD I have plexiglass plates around Disco's cage to contain some of the mess, but their cages need to be cleaned often!
wow! Do they live long? I'm not sure I'd want a bird as tough to manage o.0
They have an average lifespan of about 25 years. They are a lot of work, but I feel like Disco is worth it. He's the most affectionate bird I have ever had, and he's hilarious. xD They can be loud, though. I had to train Disco not to scream. Lol.
haha you have a flwooper. that's a pretty long life span :D glad he's worth it. Will you post a pic? XD
thanks :D I couldn't resist trying to get the cat to match her kitty onesie ;) I love the way that little gryff looks like he's playing with her hair! :D (keep reading for a pic of my advent calendar - haven't written the blog post to go with that yet, so it'll be on the blog eventually :P)
it was an interesting make - I changed a couple of bits in the pattern to make it work better, as just folding in the edges of the pocket pieces was far too fiddly for me :P
^^ that's the finished advent calendar (drag it to the address bar for the bigger version).... although I need to go and buy some more chocolates to put in it! By the time I took out the chocs I don't like from the pack I bought, there were only 13 chocs left o.O (even with the one I don't like, it would've only filled 19 days :K)
When Sid came back from the vet after we'd had him for 4 or 5 months, Mum started saying "Sid's been in the wars, poor old Sid" to him.... and after a month, he said it back to her :P We hadn't realised he'd be able to pick up such a long phrase, especially not when he was feeling rough after his treatment! ;)
squishes
That's another great outfit today, all the pale pinky white items work surprisingly well together :D

Haha, I call him my fwooper! :D Yup, he's my buddy. ;) Sure, I only have one really good one because he moves around all the time. Most pictures I try to take of him look like rainbow blurs. 😂
Oh, that looks fabulous! :D I can imagine that sewing all of those pockets would get fiddly. Going to get more chocolates sounds like fun. xD I hope you find more of the kind you like this time! Haha, what a clever bird! I am surprised that he picked up such a long phrase. It's such a funny one, too! xD I love what you did with the sweater, Niamh looks so cute! :D Her kitty toy is a perfect match. ;) That backdrop is pretty too, which one is it? Thanks, I was trying to match her hair. ;)
Hopefully tnt will work out those pesky glitches for you. ;I would be livid myself if I got stuck like that.. you are def. more patient. :P
Its a busy time of the year. :nods: I did the cleaning and decorating today as planned. Now only missing the christmas tree. Ordered pizza. Figured I deserve that after all this work. :P

yeah, in the end I added a backing to most of the pockets - that took a bit more time, but it was less fiddly to attach them to the calendar ;) I also added some wadding and a backing with a plastic tube through the top, so it can hang from the door ;) Mum's playing Christmas music, and I'm sure in amongst a load of chirps, Sparky just said "do you want to have a shower?" laughs Thanks :D I thought I'd start on the Luminaire backgrounds ;) It's :D You did a great job with matching it all! :D
I think it's more that because I don't play quite as much as I used to (since I've not had premium, I've not been on the boards so there hasn't been as much to do), I'm not quite as fussed about doing all the tasks for the plot ;) A plot on here, on the other hand, would make me want to get each step done perfectly laughs :P

Well, it turned out great! :D Haha, too funny! Do you give Sparky showers? Disco loves the water, but he gets extra noisy whenever he plays in it. xD That worked perfectly! I need to get some more Christmas/Luminare backgrounds. Thanks, I enjoyed working with the lavenders. :D
It was so cute xD THanks :D hehe I couldn't resist. oooh that looks really nice! congrats on getting it done. Did you have to buy the fabric twice? not sure how you lined it all up :o
we had pizza too lol. sounds like you were busy. So was I. I'm exhausted. Another long day. Today was Joann's (craft store), barnes and noble bookstore, and hobby lobby. Then i finished decorating my tree.
he's gorgeous!
We give Sparky a spray bottle shower, as we haven't got a suitable budgie bath for him yet ;) I'm wanting to find one that hangs over the cage door, as we'd never manage to get one in the cage that just sits on the base! ;) Sparky adores showers - he was bred to be a show budgie (although he has a bit of a weird set of feathers around his eye, so he wouldn't have been able to be shown), so his feathers are longer than 'normal'.... he fluffs them out against the cage bars to make sure they get nice and wet! ;)

Those lavenders work really well :D
Niall looks great today! What's the hat he's wearing? Thanks :D And nope, it was sold as an advent calendar panel, so you get the main picture, and the pockets are printed below it - you just have to cut them out & sew them in place on the main bit. It's not the same one (I can't find the one I bought online anywhere), but it's similar in style to this one (link), although mine had the squares marked and numbered on the main picture, to make it a lot easier to line up! ;) I did have to get some polycotton for the backing (plus the wadding, bias binding and ribbon to hang it), but that wasn't too terrible to find something that kind of matched the colour ;)
