and YUM that bees stew sounds yummy. i'm going to try a "mississippi pot roast" today. i have this really huge chuck roast, and i thought the man might enjoy this taste, better, than what i usually fix. :( really dislike doing it this way, but i've been feeling pretty lazy for the last month, and have not felt like cooking. or rather. have not felt like cleaning up the mess afterwards. heh. so i'm going to do this lazy recipe i found on pinterest. where you just use packaged seasonings. (eh) i'll tell you if it's any good. (if it is, then i might look into doing it with REAL ingredients)

and i'm ashamed to say, that i am STILL not moving on the eye of the world. (rand is dragging father through woods, just found out he's not the "real son" of Tam) so. still at the beginning. heh.

i'm trying. LARIEL suggested i 'skim' the story, with wine and sweets and soft music in the background, to help get over the 'teen, angst' part. I'm going to try reading a little more today. in between battle here, and cooking.

The animal product industry is filled with horrific things from the hormones used to how they treat animals in mass production businesses. It's no wonder there's so much disease in many of the products available today vs our great grandparents eras. I don't want to eat food that was created by the torture and suffering of another life, even if animal. There are humane ways to collect eggs, raise milk cows and even meat. I don't eat meat because I don't think it's needful for a healthy life and I think there are health benefits to not eating it, but if I did, I would lean towards small productions where the animals are treated well, and fed healthy foods of their own will not force fed junk to make them fat. That makes me sad every time I think about it.

Ohh, Survival/Pandemic usually starts on or within a few days of Valentine's day itself, historically. If you go and check the archives, you can get a feel for when it starts. In the past though, it's bounced around a little bit but I want to say it usually starts Feb 12-16, depending on the year. Last year, it was Feb 15. In 2015 it was the 14th. So I'm hoping it starts on the 14th this year because....well, why wait? :P

I'm all in for gardens. Especially if we can afford to keep the soil top quality and I get to take all the yummies into the kitchen and make foods. ;)

YES! :D I will help gather also. but I won't be able to go and weed very often. or the little bit i do, won't be all that much. heh. i'm really feeling much older than i am. and if i can sit, i can help be sou chef in the kitchen :D (heh. of course. you need to be careful around me and knives) :P

and oooooo, DON'T TALK ABOUT IT!!! (the meats) I'm so sad this year, that we are going to have to start buying meat from the grocery store. I know i complained about there being no seasoning on the pork and beef we had butchered, but it really tasted SO GOOD, (especially the beef, with just a little salt and pepper). it was really the pork that i was disappointed in. the man really needed to have paid the extra, and had the sausage seasoned.

ah well. doesn't matter now. and we're almost done with it all. :( we have a lot of the "organ" meat left. and i'm finding it really difficult to cook it. (ick)

i'm with you SpringJoy, in "can't wait for spring to have good veggie yummies!" and i'm hoping this year, to actually have some rhubarb to grow!! I've been trying to get a piece from my sister in law. and Asparagus!! I think I can actually plant some of that in the garden spot that is here at the house. I'm not going to use the whole plot. it's to big, and truth, we are already talking about moving. :(

besides. I want a little container garden. something, that maybe i can bring in the house, and get a couple more 'goodies' from. :)

Rhubarb doesn't like it down here in the south. But when I was growing up we had oodles of it and I was making rhubarb crisp all the time! Too bad I had almost no cooking technique back then or I bet it would have been killer.

wait. "Rhubarb doesn't like it in the south?" 0.o heh. it was my grandmother (who grew up and lived in Mississippi till she was middle adult) who used to grow it and cook with it. she made the BEST apple rhubarb pies!! YUMS.

yeah, they don't have exact dates listed when you look up the holiday guide. Just says mid-February. So it would be a safe bet that we could start on Monday the 13th or later that week. :)

Oh and thank you for the compliment. I bought this red jacket and was trying to think of how to wear it because I don't wear red all that much and then I just went with the flow. Granted when I look at myself I see Red Riding without a hood (she's modern) and a basket with a yellow rose and some whiskey to keep her warm... Cause she just spilled blood of the wolf that was on her toes.

yeah, I don't really keep track of the dates because they aren't always consistent. Which isn't a big deal considering they have the information for the time frame of when things begin and end. :)

Oh, Thank You, Dearest! In that case, when I make the invitations (I think I'll start typing them up on the 20th...maybe a few today if I feel up to it. ^_^) I know what date to ballpark it! And as you know.....my invites are usually dramatic, regal and long-ish XD I try to make most of them unique, depending on the person, though <3 pokes I hope you realize this means you have less than 30 days to make outfits for Blood and Chocolate. You must summon the seamstresses, jewelers, hairstylists, fabric shoppers and the like immediately! ....And don't forget to get a new carriage. Or a few more Pegasi :P <3
