He will be in the hospital for two nights to be sure everything is okay, so I'll be at their house for a few weeks. Yeah, if it was was out of state, then yes, I'd be sure to stay over night somewhere. That's why I'm glad they aren't too far away.

The site was down for awhile. I don't know for how long, but I turned it off and went to bed too haha.

(4 hr drive ONE way) he would leave in the morning, and come back every night. drove me insane. but i had just had the 1st kid, and i know he didn't want to leave me alone at night. heh. would be commendable, if my mother had not lived in the same apartment building that i did! (and my aunts were an hour away)

I feel your pain... there are two 'Chinese' restaurants in near us, one is called Mr. Cow's... it's ummm... tolerable... Asia House is a bit better but not real Chinese and not even Americanized in flavors... so we get it like twice a year when I am desperate for anything resembling Chinese cuisine. I'm not a good cook or I'd make it myself... I've tried but it never turns out right.

, ack. i have to admit, that i HAVE made a decent "kitsudon" (heh. which is just a fried pork chop on top of noodles and veggies) of course. i've never had it before, so i don't know if what i made even really taste any where "near" the real thing. but it was good for me and the kids.

i have saved a couple of recipes, and i was going to try them. i like a lot of rachael rays food, and she talks about how, when she's not taping, she lives in northern new york. no fast food places any where near her. so she makes her "chinese" at home. i thought, since i like her, that i would try one of her recipes.

guess it really hit me, when i realized it's new years eve, and i usually have seafood and chinese food for the night. especially since the man is usually in bed waaaaay before midnight, and it's basically just me. lol

ah well. mmmm, i may have him fix fried pork chops the day before, and then i'll use one and make the kitsudon. it will be 'close' to what i would buy from the restaurant any way.

If I may ask, how old is your Da and how long do they anticipate recuperation time from the surgery to be. The biopsy is going to suck but recovery time should be negligable since from what you said, your parents are pretty active

He is 67 and recovery time for that kind of surgery is 6 weeks. 2 days of observation in the hospital, 3 weeks of liquids, and then he can start on more solid liquids and possibly some soft food for the next 3 weeks. Yeah, that stick a camera down you to look at the stomach procedure will only take 20 mins lol.
