It went to -9C today and -16C for the next couple days.Undershirtshirt sweater~ then jacket~scarf dressing in layers to keep warm in -40C I always wear the muk-luks to keep the feets warm.

An old fiend invited me to stay over Christmas, upstate NY mind you where the cold makes your lungs hurt (I know, I'm preaching to the choir), I'd be an icicle the second I stepped out of the airport. My 'winter' coat is warm enough for low 60's but against a real winter? Likewise with arthritis in my right hand so far but dislocated both knee and shoulder so have a barometer as far as rain or sudden temperature drops

ACK! Had to go in at 630 to cover the neighborhoods otherwise I would have called in, but scored major good boy points with my boss and the schedule coordinator for coming in yesterday when a very inexperienced staff would have been left alone and today-mainly because I was sure a co-worker would have called in. Pretty sure she's going to give notice which is fine, she works like 18 hours a week and if she bails we can hire a FT person who might actually have a work ethic...IKR!

Need a better jacket (lined) and good gloves.(also lined & leather is what i use) and a hat..lose more heat through the head than anywhere else grab a scarf too.Wool & Cashmere Scarf soft on the face/won't get windburn.Gotta have long-johns when it's really cold.

I would want the snow to last a while here though. And the city doesn't know what to do with the snow. The county and surrounding cities are a LOT better with it. Including ice. But our city doesn't care. Last year EVERYONE in town and out of town that had to travel here complained about it and that the county and surrounding cities need to come teach to people here yet our city states they did an awesome job. -_-

Big coats are unflattering but they get the job done. I'd love to have one of those zip up suits and then go roll around in the snow. You know, just for fun.

Which is why I'm glad this cold spell has ended. For now. I have a bad feeling we'll be seeing a lot of these this winter....

We don't get enough snow to be used to it or know what to do. Worse is so much of the snow on the roads turned to ice, and I live in a lame part of town where nothing is within walking distance, and the public transit sucks, so I've been stuck at home for five whole days. I did, at least, get to go out and walk my dog each day during this cold assault. So there's that. I'm so glad it's gone for now, but I have a feeling it may come back later. I'll just hope it holds off until January, I have places to go in December.

No my little ford focus really isn't snow car. I always think when I get new car I need a jeep or truck or something. BUT I also need more weight in my back end. It likes to come out from behind me cus of the engine being h eavier.

I did that once with my snow suit. It was fun. It keeps you so warm, but no way I go out in public much.

I remember being a kid and I'd have on just my winter coat and gloves and snow boots and I'd go jump in the snow. I can't imagine doing that now, think my legs would freeze and die. Snow suit would help a lot.

OMG right?!?! When we were little we had to be dragged back inside after hours of play in the snow. NOW we barely can last like a minute before feeling like froze to death. Im like when did that change in me happen?
