Happy New Year KSrs May 2019 be healthy, prosperous and joy-filled for us all!

Jeez. Glad you got some meds and are hopefully feeling better now. I'm thinking keeping yourself to one or two drinks at most is a good thing from now on. I can get some wicked heartburn and nowadays when I drink, which is rare, it's one only. Though I stopped drinking more than two or three way back in college the one time I drank enough to not remember how I got home. That did it. Hated not remembering. It was too scary for me.

“Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are.” - Benjamin Franklin

"Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people, making widows their prey and robbing the orphan." - Isaiah 10:1-2

Agreed, one or two drinks is good. Never could handle more, body would not like 3 and I learned fast. Don't drink at all for the past four years unless I go out to eat with friends and then of course I have wine.
A blackout or memory lapse would scare me witless, too vulnerable.

I have Brian here to call me out on my stupidity. Plus the memory of all that pain. I wasn't diagnosed with alcohol poisoning so can't say if that was the case or not. My acid reflux has gotten really bad recently.

When Brian was younger and crazier he drank so much vodka he had to get hospitalized for a short time. Now the slightest scent of it makes him gag.

I have no idea. Didn't check the news for information. All I know he was bleeding a lot. There was even blood on the truck he came in on.

We're not legally married (he's on disability and I'm on ssi). But we usually refer to ourselves as husband and wife or I'll call him my fiance. Depends on the day and timeXD

We do plan to hold a ceremony once things settle down here.

Ah :)

I'm hoping I got the worst part of the year done with in the beginningXD

I would've been much more scared about my bits of memory loss if not for being at home and fully trusting Brian. Only people in the house when I started dry heaving was Brian and my Mom.

Hi. I just wanted to pop in and say hello. And also I am so sorry for joining this group like a year ago when I joined Subeta and then just never posting. Anxiety always gets the best of me and I get so scared to chat on this site for whatever reason. Probably because on this other site I have bee on for over 10 years I know lots of people so I can have convos. And on here, I basically know no one. Hopefully I can change that! Not promising to chat more....but I do want to try.

Anywho, hi, and I hope you all had a great new years and that 2019 brings you all great things and happiness!

Evening pops in I know I haven't been really active much in the past... year? Probably a year. I've really bad at posting on the forums (always have been, but it's gotten worse). I'm going to try and pop in more, but no promises! :D I hope everyone is well and has had a good start to the new year!

What's new with me.. well, I still really don't know what I want to do school-wise. I think for now I'm just going to get a business degree and get a job in that for a while. shrugs I don't think it really matters what I get at this point as long as I get something. Mom and I will be traveling up to PA for a funeral here in a few days I think, her Aunt Rosie has had a stroke and it isn't looking good (I didn't know her too well, but I will go in support of my mom and her mom). She was high in her 80s and lived a wonderful life, so at least there's that. Hm.. I guess the only other thing is I just got news that this summer I'll be the top-director for the camp I work at, rather than just an assistant director (which I've been doing now for two years, but basically been a director anyway).

Anywho, I'm going to do my best to get on here more, I miss you guys! hugs to all

You did pop your head in and that's a start! Hope it felt good and that you come back again and maybe stay awhile.

My sympathies for your family on the upcoming funeral. Glad that she lived a long and full life.

What is the nature of the summer camp, is it day or sleep over? Is it for a specific age group or gender, what theme? Congrats, that's really interesting, glad you enjoy being involved with a summer camp.

- I used to pop in much more, but I guess time just got away from me. shrugs It's just a day camp, we do lots of outdoor games, swimming, tennis, and crafts. It's usually from 8am to 4pm for the main camp (they run an aftercamp until 6pm but directors don't have to work it, so I haven't in quite a few years). The whole camp does kids ages 4-13, but it's broken up into ages 4-6, 6-9, and 9-13. I work mostly with ages 6-9, though occasionally we wil do activities together. No particular theme, just a nice day camp with outdoor activities that keep kids away from electronics!

Sounds wonderful, just what kids need. On rainy days do you do crafts indoors too? Is swimming taught, or canoeing?

- Yepp! We do more crafts, and generally try to convert outside games to games we can play under our shelters (which are like.. very very large picnic shelters). We don't generally go 'indoors' since the only actual buildings are one main clubhouse which gets kind of crowded with all the camps, so we only go in there if it's storming. We normally do an hour to two hours of swimming a day, with swimming lessons for any of the kids whose parents want them to have them, but most can swim pretty well. We don't have a river or lake nearby, so just the swimming pool! We do have a climbing wall, ropes course, nature walk, disc golf, and archery setup that the kids get to use! Otherwise, we play a lot of sports on the field, play tennis, or go swimming! There's a playground for the younger kids, and a volleyball court and bocce ball court that we use sometimes too, usually with simplified games that are age appropriate! We will also swim in the rain as long as there's zero signs of a storm!

- Sorry about that, I don't mean to make anyone worry! If you ever get worried, just ask Jersey to get a hold of me through the chat! (she knows how) The chat is connected to my phone, so I'll see it even if I don't get on here! hugs

Leg is bothering me a little less each day. Found this tea by Bigelow "Sweet Dreams", and have had a cup a couple of hours before bed for the past 2 nights and have slept better. The tea is a combination of chamomile and mint meant to soothe and calm. At that hour my body likes this new tea more than plain chamomile, very kind to the tummy. Sorry for the snow. Near me got hit overnight but not here, clear sidewalks when I took out the trash a little bit ago.

Thanks Slippy. Now I am and have been on a quest for the right multi vitamin / multi mineral for me that isn't hard to swallow and good for seniors. Not as easy as it sounds. Can't even get a doctors opinion on solid or liquid.
