I see that the fairies are now showing up like the pumpkins instead of as an event. Kind of annoying since I'm clicking around and it's easy to miss one. Throwing snowballs at Emilymae so I can get them back on my HA. ;)

I've been alright! Just enjoying the site holidays and trying to keep warm, it's actually been pretty cool here lately and will possibly snow a little bit tonight (although it'll be melted by tomorrow morning). Still kind of exciting for southeast Texas though. :P
HA is looking good :)
Are you using the CSS code for the floating items?
So about that "snowing a little bit" thing...
It got colder than the meteorologists were expecting it to and well, this is my backyard right now.
Snow in Houston
Palm tree for emphasis
Sure wish we could get some snow. We haven't had any moisture for months and it's super dry here. Even rain would be nice. Pretty picture. :)

It wasn't enough to stick on the roads, but it covered people's cars outside and looks like we got at least an inch, maybe a bit more. The weather people were all expecting it to just be a few snowflakes here and there that would melt once they hit the ground, but nope! Everyone's been posting pictures since it doesn't happen often that we actually get enough that it covers our yards and we can do something with it (people making little snowmen and stuff).
Do you live in the area where those fires are? Those have been pretty bad, I've been seeing it on the news. :c
Wow that is a crazy sight :D You got more snow than I did and I live in Michigan. We got a light dusting yesterday. Even though for a few minutes it looked like a blizzard. It just didn't stick and accumulat(sp?)..
Yeah, that's what it was supposed to do here, just maybe have some snowflakes fall but melt once they hit the ground. It ended up sticking a lot more than they thought, although by now it has melted for the most part. Got a few stubborn patches still in the yard, but the roofs are clear now.
It's just exciting because it doesn't snow here very often at all, at least not enough to actually cover the ground. Sometimes we'll get sleet or ice, but this was like some legit powdery snow.
Not many fires here now. I live in Arizona up in the northern part, in the mountains so we usually get snow in the winter. But none so far this year, it's been unseasonably hot. But we did have fires this summer, within a couple miles of my house and I almost had to evacuate. Also I live where the Hotshots were, if you have seen the movie Only The Brave.

OK, I am technically away on 11th Dec but as I will be packing and sorting family things, I suspect I'll need cover on the Empty Tree boards from the 10th, if you are OK with that?
We can use your Trees by Emptiness posting as the go-to during that week.
I -should- be back 14th - transport permitting, etc!
I will pop something to that effect when I do my update on Saturday, and ping the group.
If you can just keep a note of the names in your post and ping the group occasionally, when you've done an update or that kind of thing.
Motivational poems are also welcome! :)
(Thanks for the help)
It certainly deserves more than a couple of days in the year to show it off! :)
Speaking of achievements:
Yay! Now I have a billion to release instead... xD
Be interesting to see what this new fairy collecting way talked about in the news is.
Nice snow pic! We got a dusting in my bit of the UK, in some places the roads are closed!
Ah. Yeah, it was warm here a couple weeks ago, but it's been cooler for the past few days and I guess finally got cold enough over night for it to happen. Still very strange for us though, especially considering how early it is. It's not even technically winter yet, so I think we're colder than usual for this time of year right now.
It was more than we were expecting! But it happened over night, and so it was only a minor problem for people getting ready for work/school this morning. It's pretty much all melted now that the sun has come out and the temperature has risen. Still cool to see though, since it's kinda rare for us! Last time I can remember getting actual snow accumulation was like 8 or so years ago.
Massachusetts is getting it's first snow tomorrow. My kids are excited. I saw a bunch of pics from Texas in a group I am a part of it was neat to see.

Snow on palm trees is still quite a crazy sight! At least the disruption is minimal as the sun gets it quickly.
Snow at the weekend is the best kind of snow - more playtime!
- for what it's worth the fairies are still showing up as a random event, they just added the floating ones too until 11:59pm on December 14th, after that they will add a different way of getting fairies out to the RE and a third method on December 22nd - all in addition to the regular RE. Also the entranced fairies can now be put on your trees.
- assuming the site cooperates, that works okay for me.
- I'm sure it doesn't feel like it in Houston (especially if the roads get slick since they're really not equipped to handle that) but that is what I consider just a little snow. This is a big snow

I think it's kind of funny that it snowed here before it did in some places that usually get more snow. :P
I've heard parts of Canada haven't even gotten much snow yet this year, and yet we got snow here in Houston.
Lol yeah I'm sure the plants used to warmer weather are all like "What the heck is going on??" xD
Yeah, I used to live in Chicago for a little while, so I know what a big snow is like. It's definitely a lot for us here though, like I said we usually don't even get accumulation or we'll get some ice but not like actual snow. The ice is worse for driving on anyway, but luckily I don't think we really had any problems with that this time.
It's supposed to get cold again tonight too (like around 30F or so), but I don't think we're supposed to get any more precipitation, so snow is done for now. Still unusually cold for us though, at least this early.
- Yes, if you lived in Chicago you probably had big snow at some point, although I understand the really big snows are more likely on the other side of the lakes (like near Rochester, NY). And ice is definitely much worse for driving, although without all the snowplows and salt trucks (not to mention drivers who understand snow) just snow can be a problem some places, I'm told. My Dad used to tell me to stay home during the very first serious snow of the season if at all possible while all the other drivers relearned how to drive in winter weather. :-) I've seen some things since then that make me think that's not such a bad idea. LOL
I hope the kids around where you lived all got a chance to enjoy the rare accumulation. Snowballs and snowmen can be fun!
Did you make an itty bitty snowman?!?!? :)
Woohoo! Congrats on the ach :D
It wasn't too bad, but we got around a foot at some point while I was there. That year was only one of two winters that we were there for, and it happened to make the top 10 in terms of recorded snowfall for that winter season (I don't remember exactly what year it was though, about 10 years ago I think).
I didn't make one, but lots of other people did. I was too cold, so I just walked up and down the sidewalk a bit to look at things.
My dog was not pleased at all though, I let her outside this morning and she looked at me like what is this nonsense? It's never really snowed like this since we got her, so she was all confused.
