I just can't believe that they expect us to constantly battle (you'd have to to get a good prize) while trying to do a million quests at the same time. Guess I'll have to give up the battling since I just don't have time for both. But it doesn't seem fair. They couldn't have waited for the battle until the quests are over? :(

How much damage per battle does your pet average? If you have a high tier pet, you may not have to do that many battles per day to reach the goal by the end of the event.

I haven't started battling and sort of get it, the quests are already a little too much for me on a regular day w/o GA. I'm saving up sP for one to use during Luminaire. Melody and questing at the same time is hectic and I've sent away quest items by accident before. I run a few quests in different tabs at the same time, I buy the needed items, get a Melody notification, send back, realizing I'm missing something for at least one of the quests, but not sure what and by then a minute passes so the reward lowers.

I'll have to try that. They both need washed desperately, because they haven't been washed in years (who knows how many germs they are hiding?)

I don't do mysterious melody anymore either. I either get paired with someone who sends nothing, or sends the cheapest things possible (like rewards from Random or Slots).

There are days (like today) where I wonder if I would be happier without the husband. I'm not happy with him because he twisted the finger that's still healing last night and popped it twice. So I'm back to where I was about a month ago, mobility wise. Today his attitude and temper are terrible.

Our wedding was more expensive than we wanted it to be, but that's due to my parents renting and buying things that they felt were appropriate for the wedding (like a tent and chairs for guests to sit under). I looked for dresses that were under $200 because I can't understand spending 1000's of dollars on a dress that you wear for a day or less.

It will be some time before we are able to start building. Have to empty out my grandmother's house and tear it down before we can start. It will be nice to build our own, because then we can have the layout and space that we want, like a large kitchen, a big craft room, storage room, and a little library/reading nook. My hubby plans to do all the electrical work that he can because he's going to be really nit-picky on how things are organized, but he'll have a friend help too if he can.

It is wonderful. This is her first year owning it as she bought it from the previous owners. She's doing a better job then the previous owners did. They focused on lake traffic, so they were only open 3 days a week. My friend is open 6 days a week and changes the schedule around for holidays and school. The food is delicious and isn't too expensive.

I really don't have much going on this week in RL. Its still to warm outside for me to feel ok with working my horse hard. I've been trying to get all quests completed in the morning, so that way if something does pop up in the afternoon, I don't have to worry about rushing to get them done at night. The cost is always a big factor for me (on any item I buy here), I tend to forget that I've got some sP stocked up and that I can spend a bit on some items (I still remember being dirt poor during half my time here).

I used to write down what I paid for each quest item and the reward I got in return, then calculated my profits. I noticed that even if I didn't make any money doing all 10 quests for one NPC, I still had profit overall. Quentin is one quest giver that's always on the low end for profits, unless you factor in the mage amulets (if you sell them).

I forgot that some of my CSC came from Lumi gifts. I spent some of it when the CW Pawn Shop had the sale, then some on a GA. I still have some left over, but I'm never sure about what to spend it on.

I've had a smartphone for a few years now. I try not to download too many games on it. I have mostly cattle apps on my phone right now. Its nice to have because I can quickly look something up if I'm out of the house (like looking up a brand on a wandering cow). I spend most of my time playing games on the PS4 (unless hubby is playing).

We could possible make working together work, but it would just depend on how often an attitude would pop up and if that would just make a business partnership sour. I work with cattle and hubby has made it obvious at times that he has little interest in learning more just so has the basic knowledge, which annoys me to no end.

I have yet to receive anything special from Carl yet this week. I did get 3 mage amulets from Quentin one day though.

Shadow of Mordor is a pretty fun game. Think Assassin's Creed but in Middle Earth (some game dynamics are similar). The Nemesis system is a really unique feature with how Orcs move up the ranks as they kill you. I have noticed that some of the Orc captains come back to life and are a little tougher. I guess the only way for them to stay dead is to behead them. Hubby plans on getting Shadow of War sometime after its October release, main reason why he's been working on Shadow of Mordor. Game data is transfered from the old game to the new game.

So, I spend more money than I planned to when my husband and I went to town Monday, especially at Walmart all because I found a season 1-4 set of Hawaii Five-0.

I have to use a sensitive teeth tooth brush, because regular brushes make my gums bleed if they so much as poke them the wrong way. I've had my share of cavities and even had a extra tooth (which is now a gap). I need to look into getting braces, but I have wisdom teeth slowly coming in on my left side.

I get chicken strips a lot, but I'm always a little leary about finding cartilage chunks. Not a big fan of chicken skins, but maybe it just hasn't been crispy enough.

Ouch, you'd think he'd be gentle or attentive of that. How'd he do that? 😧

The texture is disturbing to run across in a chicken strip but the cartilage is good for you. Our family has soups with a pork bone in it for stock. It's good for small summer appetites and replenishes cartilage, collagen, and marrow, good stuff. Can't go wrong with ham and a summer gourd or melon broth.

Agreed, maybe they're no crispy enough. I like them done longer yet some places get them out flimsy :/ The ones that don't meet my criteria are a little better than store bought pork rinds.

KFC almost made a chicken skin burger! It never made it.

Pardon my intrusion on the board, I noticed you guys were talking about food hi.

Wow, Adopt-R-Us is practically empty! Forgot I still have an empty pet slot from the last Quest-A-Thon.

My husband has a bad memory, which is alarming because he's only 24. If it doesn't pertain to him or affect him, he doesn't really remember it. He was tickling me last night while I was trying to fall asleep (I also wasn't in a great mood), then it turned into wrestling as I tried to get him to stop. He had a hold of my hand as he twisted my arm (because I fight dirty), which in turn twisted my fingers. Two cracking pops later, I was in tears of pain and fury, and it slowly dawned on hubby that he had pop the finger I broke/crushed. Broke it in early May, and I was finally to the point where I could use that finger with no pain or discomfort....

I don't mind small pieces of cartilage in chicken strips, because you can't find it back after biting on it once. Its the large chunks that get me. I got chicken strips at Freddie's a couple weeks ago and one of the strips had a large cube of cartilage. My husband and I buy pre-seasoned chicken quarters from Dillons, and I can never eat the skin because it ends up chewy, so I miss out on all that seasoning. :(

I just wish the battle stuff would have waited until the quests are over with. I work full time and just don't have time to do both. Grrr. :(

My top pet is T12 and does about 1000-1900 damage per round on the big guy. But I just don't have the time to battle with doing all these quests.

I already have Threepio. He is a steamwork ruffie :)

I know this wasn't directed at me but daaaang I did not think that Rogue guy stole stuff like that! I am so glad the staff replaced it for you!

Its pretty sad. He remembers our anniversary and my birthday (I've warned him about what will happen if he forgets), but he forgets things that he says during arguments and mishears or doesn't hear some things I say, which leads to further arguments/huffy attitudes. When it comes to helping each other with work, I don't mind helping him with electrical (even if its just handing him tools), but he will flat out say nope if I ask him to tag along to check cows or attend a workshop to learn about the industry. Hence why I said earlier to , there are days I question whether being married, in general.

I did some digging, because I was considering using a forum group to store my money, and I found the this thread, Quest-A-Thon 2017 - WE DID IT ?, that then leads to another thread (Does Sarah count the sP in your shop till? )with an answer from staff about using forum banks.

Quote
Using a forumgroup to get around the sP limit is not how it is supposed to work, and we ask that users kindly not use such an exploit/loophole to get around Sarah&;s limitations. It&;s something we&;ll be working on fixing.
Staff should have included that in a news post, if that is there opinion about that, or opened up Sarah's and Saggi's quests to everyone for the duration of the Quest-A-Thon.

- it's a public thead - please feel free to comment on anything you see me post in it. That's actually part of the fun, in my opinion. Apparently, he wasn't supposed to steal untradeable stuff, but there was some sort of glitch. I'll probably never even think of using it (I still have 10 empty pet slots right now - actually 11 because I'm temporarily holding a friend's pet), but it was nice to get it put back and I really love that sort of user support that I see from Subeta staff all the time. Not like the other pet site I was on where my account was hacked, I self froze and then didn't even hear anything from their poor overworked staff person for over two months. (To be fair to him though, he was really nice once he got to me. He just had too many hacked accounts to deal with and no help.)

Thanks Hun :) I always worry about jumping into a private convo. I guess it is being I am so shy in rl. I "talk" to people more on here then I ever have in rl. I agree. The staff here is great. Whenever I file a ticket I get a response that same day, and they are always so nice and helpful! A couple of years ago I came on to find that a lot of my stuff and all my csc had been stolen and I got it all back :D I was so relieved! The other site I used to play on never would have done that.

Well geeze I never saw that before. I honestly did not think there was a problem with it. When the plot was going on and questing was involved it seemed like everyone was doing it, so I thought it was acceptable :( sorry if I gave anyone bad advice!

Dang it! I forgot that my Subeta anniversary was 2 weeks ago....could have used the totem for the GA instead of buying one...oh well, been here 11 years.

Honestly, I don't think it was ever announced on a news post, I think its just been mentioned on the forums and comments on news posts. One of the threads I linked to, mentions that it was in the December 2016 news, but I just looked through all of them and didn't find any mention of (unless it was in the comments for the Quest-A-Thon in December). I don't have the time, nor do I want to spend the time, reading all the comments on the news or searching the forums for a decision made by staff, and some staff members in the 2nd thread I linked seemed to think that it wasn't important enough to make a news post about not using forum group banks to store money in in order to do Sarah's quests.

- I was very shy once, but somehow mostly got over it (now sometimes I'm still a little shy, but usually I'm too pushy - probably some overcompensation there). I was so shy in high school that I started shaking in Junior year English class when I had to stand at a podium and read a paper in class, instead of reading it sitting at my desk.

Just remind yourself that most of us are aware that posting on a public thread isn't a private conversation. There are profile comments or sMails for those.

I agree. And so glad to know you got everything back.

- I agree things like that belong in news posts, but that is one of the things that doesn't always happen "the right way" on Subeta. That's why lots of users who do see those sorts of things try to help out with communication and share them (like I did here). There was a big discussion after the last Quest-A-Thon about doing Sarah's quest, and that staff decision was one of the results. Personally, I've always felt doing that was and example of exploiting a glitch, so I never used it, but I also heard that some staff had originally either approved it or ignored it. That was part of the big discussion - is it staff approved or not, and the result was a clear no.

It is confusing, and I think other users are confused about it too, especially on the second thread. One user said they filed a ticket to check that it was ok to use forum banks so they could do Sarah's quests, and they were told that it was fine. So there have been some inconsistencies between staff. I think in the news post about this Quest-A-Thon, a staff member said they were working on a way to make the forum group bank no longer a loophole for quests. However, in my 11 years on Subeta, staff has never been the greatest about keeping users informed consistently. There have been some periods where the only way to to get news from staff, was to search the forums or news comments. I've decided to not create a forum group and just nix Sarah's quests altogether, which sucks because I've never been able to do her's and I was hardly able to do Amy's. (I was one of those confused new members)

I'm extremely shy in RL and an introvert. My anxiety doesn't help my shyness at all either, just causes me to constantly worry about how/what the people around me are thinking of me (annoyed, bothered, etc). I'll sit or stand off the side and listen to conversations or feel awkward. Even on Subeta, I go back and forth from being active on the forums to hardly posting at all.

There have been plenty of times on Subeta, where things that should have been news posts were just posted on the forums or in comments somewhere. And then other users mention it like it should be common knowledge to everyone else on where to look for those things. I never knew that the forum banks were a way to do Sarah's quests, and it was never an idea that crossed my mine (completely forgot about them actually after the plot last year). I read through that thread, and saw that some users questioned how letting a friend hold your sP for was wasn't also an exploitation of a loophole and I never really saw an answer other than its great to see users helping each other out (that might have been a comment on the news post though).

I could never stand up in front of the class for any reason. I remember when we had to stand up and read book reports. I would always claim that I didn't do it, and then turn it in late just to avoid it. ~ Anyone battling the Gelatins? I am going to try really hard to get that 5 mill! So far I have finished 271 battles. Not sure how many I need to do, but I am going to to do as many as I can just to be sure.

yeah they really need to be consistent! I think they should all get together and go over the rules to make sure they are all on the same page and that all of the rules are laid out for the players to easily understand. I am the same way! I will post on the boards or comment someone and then I worry that maybe I said something wrong. In rl I mostly just spend all my time at home with my daughter. I go out when I have to. but that is just to run errands. I don't really interact with too many non family members in rl.

I hated standing in front of the class when I took public speaking in college, and I still hated it when I had to give a presentation in front of 10 people during a job interview a few months ago.

I'm sort of battling the Gelatins, but I haven't tackled the big guy yet. I don't know if its worth for me to try because my battle pet is only T3.

I wonder if they have some sort of staff meeting (even if its a group chat) where they go over things to all be on the same page. To my understanding, not all staff can make news posts, but they could at least put something on the announcements forum and use the subeta hashtag.

I worry that I said something wrong when talking to people in real life. I almost always walk away from a conversation thinking about what I said and how it could have been perceived. I mostly hang out with my husband and about 3 friends. That's it. I'm comfortable around people that I know really well, but super self-conscious around new people.

Doing a presentation for a job interview is not something I could ever do! Huge congrats to you on being able to do that. Any time I even tried to talk in front of people my face felt like it was on fire and my heart thumped so loudly in my ears that I couldn't even hear what I was trying to say. They would never hire me! I tend to worry to much about things like that. Most of the time I would rather just avoid it completely.

It might be worth it to at least try a few battles. I have no idea what the prizes are going to be, but there might be some books or stickers or something like that.
