The powers of technology! Bet no one foresaw that when mobile phones first were around.
xD
I have so many events I want to keep up with that the widget section comes a poor second. If I remembered in the first place, I could probably then set an alert!
I have missed the Baths so many times and restarted so often. But I am trying to build up a good run again. I love that we can get CSC and crypt & referral points. That is so helpful.
I've just been throwing them at random people. I'm up to 2,000 thrown so far, but I started at like 1400 or so.
Thanks Hun ❤
Anyone having any luck digging up one of the new minions while digging for gems? I haven't gotten one of them yet :(
That's still going pretty well, then.
I think we all have to accept it's going to take a LONG time. But it's something to chip away at each year.
The crystal minions, I think I got 1 when they were first released, but haven't seen any since. Not sure how rare they are.
I do that too, the timing for the widget isn't accurate though. The display is slow to change so you're better off checking as often as crypts/ random/ ice fields. the oracle and Melody's cottage is at the bottom of mine.
Day 1 for bath house again.
958 / 1,000 thrown hope you guys are using that refresh button.
It's technically possible to do them all in one year. Buying 50,000 snowballs from the place with a 30 second limit in between would take a little over 17 days if you were doing it constantly. Throwing 50,000 snowballs would take just under 3 days.
Still probably better to try spreading it out between a couple of years though.
pokes the site Downtime when doing Wiz quests... nooooo!
I think trying to do it that way, madness might lie! Or at least extreme tedium. Slow approach it is, then! :)
Yeah I'm just going to spend a little bit of time most days from now until spring starts, we'll see how many I get. Maybe next winter I'll try a bit harder from the beginning and I might be able to get most of the way to 50k then.
Yeah, the other thing is that it's a 'winter' event - so buying snowballs overlaps with Luminaire gifting and buying from the Zombie Den and so on.
Maybe we need a Shark Snowball Support Group - checking in with each other as to how many we bought and threw!
- actually, I use my landline. :-) Even more strange because I actually helped write the software for the first release of mobile phone in the US. My part was small, but central - you didn't make a call without me. :-) But I still have an old Motorola flip phone (not even a smartphone) and it's usually off - lol. Aside from cost, my excuse used to be that I like having a phone that will work in an emergency, even when the power goes out, but since my landline is now VOIP that's not true anymore (sigh).
I finally added events to the sidebar too. Usually, I keep them closed, but there are times when it's very helpful to be able to see everything in one place. I open or close the widgets and move them up and down depending on what I'm currently working on. And then I can just keep my sidebar set to Dashboard and use the Events tab only when I choose to deal with them.
There's a daily ping group for the Bathhouse too if you want to join it. I haven't done that, but I put a Bathhouse bookmark in the bookmark bar of my browser where it (so far) reminds me to visit them. I used to try and take an occasional day off from my computer (as a computer person, once I get on, I don't get off for hours - how many times I've said to myself, I'll just go to the Bathhouse so I don't miss it and then hours later I'm still doing something online) but, of course, now I am online every day (sighs again). The rewards are definitely well worth it, though. Subeta staff is smart!
Ouch - downtime during Wizard Quests is a pain, but I've found that the timers stop too, so now that it's not such a short timer, it is still possible to get that 20 Point Wizard Token if you are around when the site comes back up. Still my least favorite thing to have interrupted though.
- yes, all of the event and widget notifications are a bit slow. They have gotten better recently though. I don't let the widget keep me from checking when I remember, it's there to make sure that I still get there even if I'm busy or forget. The Oracle widget is on my sidebar too - but I also visit regularly even when I don't have a quest, and I add Melody in December and remove it the rest of the year. Those widgets can be very helpful.
cheers for old school phoning Well, you can claim a place in history with that one, there's no stopping the progress we got from that turning point!
I'm pretty good at remembering the Bathhouse, my big problem has been being offlined with various real life stuff. So, I am being philosophical about that one!
I always use the events notification more. Ping power! xD
Yeah that's true! And the past year or so I've been trying to catch up on buying the Millionaire Center items I didn't have yet for the different seasons, so that's another sP sink.
Ah well, if I can get to at least 5-10k snowballs thrown by the end of this winter that will be pretty good. :)
I always forget the MC has seasonal rotation too!
You'll have to post your daily xxxx/ 10000 and we can cheer you on. :)
There are a lot of things around the site, it can be difficult to remember them all.
Alright, I'm at 2050 for now and hopefully I'll get to 2500 or more by the end of tonight. Gonna do quests first though ~
- yes, cellular phones (and the ability to make small enough batteries!) really made a huge impact on everything. So many things are easier now, but I do still try to remind people that just because you can have your phone with you 24/7 doesn't mean that you have to. It's a tool designed to help and we are still in charge. Sometimes, I think people tend to forget that! (Of course, I'm not talking about folks who must keep phones on due to work, or some other issue.)
Real life happens - and it always comes first. Please let me know if there is anyway I can be helpful.
Yes, nice to have a few different ways to do things, so we can choose what works best for us. I use event notifications too, but they can get overwhelming at times. (I wish that little red number would only show up in my current tab.) Yay, for choices and for ping power! :-)
- good luck throwing snowballs.
- I haven't seen any of those minions for quite some time. I was also wondering where they are hiding. :-)
Too bad we can't use the minion nip :D lol
- yes, that would be a great idea! Minion Nip for Coda Caves. (Maybe we should try it - couldn't possibly hurt. :-) )
I disappeared for a while because contests kept me busy. At least now I know I don't have to buy to post an outfit although if I want to wear then must buy oh so many pretty things :D
Now we'll need some cowboy music and a draw :P Or go into fashion designing to make medical holsters ;) If you're gonna be ill, you can still have style :D
Cha-Ching is now a bug o.O we'll have to work on her appearance a hum a hum oh dear.
Whenever I'm in the hospital I tend to use a wheelchair due to my balance issues... so used to it I'm like a road runner, meep meep!
skates... I've used them but never really learned how to skate so I'm always very awkward on them & yes, I'm Canadian, tee hee
congrats on the list! & that's a lot of CW, wow!
thanks. For now things won't change but as long as they remain stable and I can function that's what matters most. I do what I can and try to forgive myself for not being able to do what I wish.
Thanks for the useful token shop info. It confirms what I suspected & for now I can't get enough wizard tokens... spending them too fast lol. Eventually I'll be able to build up a stock ;)
FYI, there's an alternative for phone: I use a type of box that converts a regular home phone into equivalent of a cellphone. You can use it during power outages since it has a battery backup. It's not a lan line; however, if you move it comes with you and you don't need to change anything... you can bring it on vacation too.
Although I have a cell phone I never keep it on; it's for emergency use only... old school ;)
I do bookmark tab for bath, jobs, garden, training... helps me remember ;)
Mmm tummy rumbling must go eat!
At least we can layer it behind out HAs. I love being able to do that. Really helpful for the dancing if I don't want to wear a mask directly on my HA.
I always had noodle ankles lmao! I was terrible at skating!
So, I had a response typed out and then stupid me refreshed the wrong tab....
Vintage patterns have more eye appeal and seem really simple, but it depends on what colors are used in the quilt. I've got some vintage knitting/crochet magazines and I wouldn't wear some of the sweaters or vests that are in there but I might use the stitches for a different project.
Yay! I thought kids were no longer getting sick at school, but one student was coughing and sneezing during class, so the germs are still going around. I'll be keeping hand wipes in stock until the weather remains consistently warm.
I've got one of each tab that I stashed away, so I'll be prepared for next year. If Survival lasted the whole month of February, then we might have time to catch up and collect all the strains. Last year I was able to complete 4 strains, but I was lucky to start my third strain be the end of the holiday this year. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to collect all the zombie skins.
There was a lot going on with that plot. If I remember right, there was a lot to collect and it seemed like there were many things going on at once. Ecks could side with Merana, since she has been freed. I could see Merana helping Ecks out in some devious way. Merana has always reminded me of Calypso/Tia Dalma from Pirates of the Caribbean. Ecks opening and running a shop would be neat as well. She could use the profit to fund another movement for her Z Coalition.
I plot that gives us Ecks' backstory would be interesting as well. It would be so nice to know the backstory of many of the NPC's of Subeta.
