I don't think there's any in MA or CT. They look fun though!
The one here in Michigan is the only one there is. Family owned and run since the day Wally Bronner opened it in 1945. He died a few years ago :(. Now his kids are in charge.
Hey and Hi everyone!!!! How are you all doing? Getting ready for the next event? I am ready to go :D
Hello Sharkies! I've been semi-active again and decided to pop in and say hi.
I'm really looking forward to this year's survival. Maybe Merana will be part of it, since staff keeps saying she will be back soon.
the Hydrus pets are back x]
Just had to get a Hydrus Devonti.
hi Orange~~
Hi Omnibless! -waves- How have you been?
So much for Merana popping up during Survival. On the plus side, I finally figured out what to turn Island into.
Hey, how have you been?
I'm (im)patiently waiting for Survival to start and see what new things we get! :)
It's definitely one of my favorite events on here!
And someone else pointed out that those temporary infections from the vials a few years ago have been added to the skin page in the wardrobe, so that's interesting! I'd love to be able to have those be permanent :o
Plus all of the usual items and such are always great, and seeing the new strains progress.
I've been good, thanks. It's nice to be active on Subeta again. How have you been?
I'm really looking forward to this year's virus strains. I'd like to see an Ink Cap strain to go with last year's items.
I didn't know those temporary infections were a thing. I missed that year.
I've been alright, not quite as chatty on here either as I used to be, but that always tends to happen in between events.
An Ink Cap strain would be interesting. I'm wondering if they'll have some kind of theme this year like they have for the past two or so: fish/sea creatures and then the plants/fungus last year.
And yeah, I don't remember exactly what year it was but we could do quests for someone in the underground and get one of five different vials in return. Drinking it activates an infection that progresses to a mature stage and then reverts back to normal after a few days. Quite a few people have been asking to make those strains permanent skins we can wear because some of them are pretty cool-looking, so I guess staff have finally decided to do it.
rolls around, waiting for Survival
I had a look in the wardrobe and those temporary strains are cool looking. Perhaps those quests will be brought back this year. :)
If there is a theme to this year's strains, which theme would you like to see? I'd like to see a theme based on the four seasons.
Yeah I'm wondering if they will bring back a way to make the vials again this year, for people who don't have them (although as of right now there are plenty in user shops).
I don't really know about a theme. I guess I'd kind of like to see some more classic zombie kind of designs or something. The new ones have nice art, but they don't really feel like zombies anymore.
I still have a couple of each type that I'd be down to share, but as you said, they're still SUPER cheap.
Yeah, the prices are pretty reasonable right now. I guess it will depend on what exactly is the requirement for unlocking them, the prices might go up if people are scrambling to buy them. We'll have to wait and see ~
I doubt they would want them to become too expensive though, so they've probably got a plan for how they're going to do it.
Sharkies!! :D
I am on pins and needles waiting for Survival to start, aaaahh!!
In the meantime I thought I'd share the Valentine I got for and her son :D He's shark obsessed so when I came across this I couldn't resist.
~ That's adorable! I love sharks (they scare the piss outta me though, thanks to watching Jaws at age 5).
I need to convince my 8 1/2 year old that sharks are awesome again. We went over my Dad's last year at one point in the Summer and My Dad was watching Deep Blue Sea. Before my brain could register what movie it was, my kids were in the living room. I couldn't get the words "Change the channel out fast enough" and he saw one of the scenes where the shark attacks one of the crew. He's been petrified ever since. I have him almost convinced they are good again. We have The Atlantic White Shark Conservatory near us. I believe it's based near NOAA, so I am going to make a trip there this Summer to show him how awesome they are.

Thanks! Plus the ping group being on the box, it was sold before I even picked it up, haha!
Aww yeah it can be hard to explain that a movie can make anything look extra scary. A trip to the conservatory would be awesome! Probably touch on the fact that sharks really are an amazing part of our world and are creatures that only seem to get bad publicity. I mean, how many people swim in the oceans every day without issue but then how wide-spread the news gets when there is an attack.
Also, Deep Blue Sea was one of my favorite movies as a kid, I was almost 13 when it came out! I remember being tickled that Samuel L. Jackson was in it, I recognized him from Jurassic Park (another favorite of mine).
~ I watched it when It was on HBO when I was in college. It's an awesome movie. I was forcing myself to watch as many shark movies as I could to desensitize my irrational fear (it worked a little). I love Jurassic Park too! I've seen all the movies.
