- yes, sports are much easier to watch passively - unless of course it's the championship game or something like that! :-)
Personally, I often love watching sports. Hockey was my first love. I enjoy football and basketball. I watch anything and everything Olympic. And I am now a huge professional cycling fan. Up until this year I would spend all of July glued to the television for Le Tour.
- sounds like such a wonderful movie, LOL. I think I'll just watch something else! :-)
Congratulations on your BHH purchase. Keep going and you will keep finding things. :-)
- good to know that things are progressing. Hope the farm work starts being paid work soon. Since you're working for your family, just charging for the bigger things could be a reasonable compromise that works for everyone.
Sorry to hear that. Hopefully whatever you use for your new layout will stick around.
There is a set ratio of tomes to amulets. Luck (and RNG) can vary, of course, but if you turn in a lot of amulets - then you should get approximately the correct ration of tomes (I forget the exact ratio mentioned).
The solution to that is - don't bury your laptop. LOL Even if you have other stuff, you could just always leave your laptop on top when you are done with the desk (or you could even keep it in a drawer). My computers are always available - especially for when I need to bank or do other real life work, but also for daily gaming. I read every day and even before the Bathhouse, spend time online almost every day (but then I am a computer person and worked as a software developer, so doing things online is a longtime habit by now).
I've heard several people say they don't like talking on the phone because they need time to think about what they are going to say. But, that is true in person too. And it is an important skill to work on even if (like me too at times) you are not always good at it (just one example - it's very important in a job interview). And no matter what the reason, there is simply no comparison between talking to someone and typing to someone. The human voice conveys much more information than just the words spoken and, of course, that matters both when you are speaking and when you are listening to someone else.
Telemarketers call cell phones too. They pretty much call any phone number they can find. And at least on landlines you don't have to pay for the minutes they use like you do when they reach a cell phone. Also, there are now various blocking and screening features that help. And there is nothing that works as well in an emergency - even where cell coverage is good.
In that case you would probably enjoy my Atari 5200 if it still works. And you might really like the tape games for my Atari 2600.
I love point and click adventures. I used to play them all the time. But I need ones with hints in case I get really stuck somewhere and, of course, ones that don't have a hidden internal game in which you need to be coordinated to continue. :-)
Pretty much every game console has it's good and bad points - and certainly individual games can be done well - or not. :-) I like the Wii because it encourages physical involvement rather than just more couch-sitting. But I don't have any "modern" game consoles and it's been a very long time since I've played a game on one anywhere. I have almost always done most of my gaming on whatever computer was around rather than a special game machine. I like handheld games (I would love Zelda) but often I have trouble seeing with a small screen size and games (even puzzle or adventure games - like Zelda) almost always require you to be coordinated, so that doesn't work well for me. I want to have fun - not just be frustrated. I can enjoy hard work - even in a game - like some of my battling on Subeta - but I need to be able to do the task required.
Glad you are enjoying your Wii. It makes sense that the sports games are good since they're the type of game that the console was designed to support.
Yeah I'll usually focus more on the game when it's a championship or playoff game, but during the regular season I'll keep some on for background noise and only sort of pay attention (especially if it's teams that I don't care as much about).
Also I finally had enough Impossible tokens to get the components to make the Mecha today! :)
I am really glad I waited and only spent $2 to watch it on DVD lol.
I used to take whatever was offered to me... until I winded up with too much & it was a royal pain to bring to donation places. Now, I try to think a little more of what I'll do with something, do I have space and if not... then I don't take it.
I actually know the rules. It's the whole watching while not participating I find incredibly boring. I'm also not a big fan of people ramming into each other, no matter what "strategy" is used. I even enjoy chess but not watching others play... but between enduring a chess game or a sport I'd get a pillow and go to the chess match. I'd much rather have a role to play and see how it plays out or just listen to a good old story, but that's me.
I hope they start Morostide on Friday the 13th. That would be appropriate, :D

- I used to "watch" Monday Night Football while folding laundry or sewing (by hand) or doing other chores. If I heard a lot of excited yelling, I could look up and catch the replay of anything important. :-)
Congratulations on making your Mecha! I hope you have a lot of fun using it.
Somehow I seem to have 5 Impossible Tokens (3 were from the first version of The Troll - maybe General Error gave me the other 2?) but Tos isn't quite T10 yet so I will have some time to earn more before I can use a Mecha.
- definitely not worth the cost of seeing in a theater.
- it's not just the rules, usually those are pretty easy to learn. There are a lot of other subtle things. And if you don't enjoy watching that''s fine. I like chess, but it's boring to watch because so much of what is happening is thinking which you just have to sit and wait through and then I don't have any clue why a move is made or even if it's a good move or a bad move. I would rather read a chess book that shows the moves and explains them. I do enjoy watching other games though. And not all sports involve people crashing into each other. Professional cycling has much less of that - they are usually trying not to crash into each other - or anything else - not that crashes don't happen. And most Olympic sports involve no crashing at all.
Personally, I have truly enjoyed watching some amazing feats and sometimes even find myself inspired to try harder and not give up when facing whatever my own personal challenges happen to be (physical or otherwise). And I am just genuinely interested in all sorts of sports and games in general. I will admit, that part of what got me totally involved with Le Tour wasn't just the sport itself. The announcers were wonderful and explained lots of things so I learned a lot (I love to learn - about all sorts of different things) and there was such beautiful and spectacular scenery as they traveled around France (and into other countries) and I enjoyed that and the explanations of the history and of the differences between different regions. And watching all the fans. Seeing people from all over the world working together - and watching together. And I love the sunflowers! Some of the same things I love about the Olympics - learning about the host country and their culture and different customs. Or about the stories of the different athletes.
I was also fascinated to learn that Le Tour is the most watched annual event in the world - surpassed only by the Olympics and the World Cup both of which are only every four years.
Congrats on the mecha!
Well at least I can saw that I saw all 5 movies! I just hope the new Thor and Star Wars movies don't let me down! The new SW trailer is out there, so now I have to start avoiding any place it might pop in until I see the movie. Not gonna be easy lol!
- true. :-) There's a new Star Wars movie? Guess I'll have to see that sooner or later. Haven't seen any of the Thor movies, but I used to read the Thor comics.
Thanks!
And yeah, I'm the same sometimes I'll be watching and doing something else and look up when something exciting happens. :P
The new Thor movie does look pretty cool, although I still have to catch up on the rest of the Marvel movies first. I think the last one I saw was Age of Ultron, or was it Ant Man? IDK but I think I'm a couple of years behind at least. Oops...
We love the Thor movies, Our fave is Loki lmao!
We skipped the Ant Man movie. Can't deal with bugs. Even fake ones :P
To each her own. I'm just not into that type of thing. I'd rather go to a museum, go in the forest, watch a movie, etc. Live my life rather than just watch others doing things. That's me.
It'll be interesting to see what they do with Princess Leia, considering the loss in real life. Loki, interesting character... preferred the 1st Thor to the 2nd; more character development instead of just saving woman saving world.
My fav superhero movie is Elektra... but it came out at a bad time and got some neg reviews so there's not much chance of a sequel. Hoping Wonderwoman can make up for it.
- it can be nice to have something more interesting to think about than the laundry that's being folded. :-)
- Loki is the villain. Does he have his own movie or are you saying that you like the Loki character in the Thor movies?
- definitely to each his own. And, just FYI, I actually haven't watched any TV in many months, except a few times with guests.
Personally, I think watching a movie is just as much watching others do things as watching sports. Nothing wrong with either one, or for that matter, with spending time online which is what I do with almost all of my screen time. Those other things like enjoying nature or a museum are actually doing things. Each of us needs to pick a mix that works for them and then hopefully enjoys what they do.
I know I am going to be crying into my popcorn as soon as I see her! The first Thor movie was deff better! My daughter watched it every day for a month after I first bought it lol.
I liked the Elektra character, but I was really bored during the movie :) Haven't seen Wonder Woman yet.
We love Loki in all of the movies he is in. Not really rooting for him, but he is just fun to watch lol!

- yes, I got the impression that he was one of those humorous villains in the movies. :-)
Yeah he is a great character! (but he still has to lose in the end)
Must stop looking at Loki pics!!!!
Soggy popcorn is not really yummy... keep a box of kleenex nearby just make sure not to confuse the two :P
Loki makes being a villain fun... kind of anti-hero but doesn't really wind up doing the right thing in the end so stays a villain.
Muff head fuzzy better eat/rest... Gismo has the snoring down pack lol.
yep!
Lol yeah that would not be good at all!
Have a good meal and a great nap :D
