Trying to catch up between making oatmeal cookies & getting ready to go to cooking club...

Hopefully you'll get a break when your hubby is back. I'm lucky to be able to get movers that will pack, move & unpack... when annoying landlord finally sends transaction with lawyer grr grr grr whine :S :(

It's wise of you & hubby to move back with the parents to put money aside. It'll be cramped & adjustment period for all, but once you can get a house it'll be worth it :)

I also have to get rid of furniture... some items are from my great grandfather... but I'll be better off without the items. I managed to get rid of 9 pairs of shoes/boots/sandals :D

It really is unfair, but at least I'll be able to spend the money on items that will help me out & last for years to come. My aunt is trying (hasn't found time yet) to help me prioritize what to get.

Sorry for the late reply, finally found an apart (yay). 2 days to find an apart... how awful! I less than a week to get the place where I'm at now but winded up with a problem landlord & fighting him through the city for almost 3 years. This time I was able to take more time and travel more so it took around 2.5 months but I finally found a place :D

Sorry for replying late... It's truly unfortunate when others take advantage & destroy one's hard work :( Even though I still have my acc on Neo, I find that ever since I've been on Subeta I'm rarely there... too much fun here + not much free time preparing for move so must prioritize... Subeta wins :P

~ NO worries. It is what it is. I like here on Subeta so much better. I started Neo in 1999, and after Adam and Donna sold it, the site went downhill fast. It was no longer friendly towards the college students it was originally aimed for and instead the market switched towards the younger kid set.

If I drew a cake, that would take me forever because I tend to be a perfectionist when drawing. I spent a year drawing Legolas and I still wasn't happy with how he ended up looking, but the horse he was riding looked amazing

The pantry at my parents house is packed, shelves are so full that they can't hold any more and some things have to sit on the floor.

The spiders that were living in my duplex spent all their time hiding. I had ants invade the kitchen and had no help from the spiders. Now that spiders living in the basement of my parents' house stake a claim on anything and everything. I found at least 20 dead spiders in a box of craft supplies.

I have my room cleaned at home and I've got new homes for my craft supplies so I should be able to start working on some projects I've put on hold!

My husband gets back today! I'm really excited to see him. Depending on when he gets released, we might play some volleyball at the park or throw a frisbee around with some of his friends before going out for dinner. Then we'll start packing more things tomorrow. I had every intention of having a majority of our things moved before he got back, but then I ended up cleaning at working at home. Having movers would be nice, but I think I would be too worried about the possibility of my things getting broken (I worry too much).

It is wise, but my husband didn't see the advantage of that for awhile. I'm tired of having half my paycheck go towards a place that I don't own, and staying with my parents will really help save money. My husband is also possibly deploying next year, so I didn't want to be living in a rental by myself (even if it would be in a small town where I know a lot of people). We might be living with my parents for a few years, because we want to build a house at my grandmother's place, but we still have to empty out her house and tear it down.

I would have a hard time parting with furniture that has family history. I have a child's dresser that belonged to my grandmother (and maybe her mother) and a wooden armchair that belonged to my great grandfather that I've had in storage. The furniture my husband and I are parting with are things we bought second hand that worked for us but won't fit in with the look of the home we want to build. And I don't want to drag a whole bunch of furniture back, have it stored for years and then decide it has to go. I've donated 3 pairs of shoes and two bags full of clothes after my last purge. I've got 5 bags of various items in the back seat of my pick-up that are ready to get donated as well. I just to have a really hard time getting rid of things, but after spending 2 years go through things in my grandmother's house (which is maybe half empty now), I'm more keen getting rid of things I haven't used for a few years. I need to go through my closet again and get rid of some more clothes (I have too many).

True that you don't have to bake, but I'm awful at pretty much everything related to visual arts. - what happened? did something go down on Neo? I've lost 2 side accounts within the last year, so I'm pretty much done over there. Click the wrong thing and a cookie grabber snatches your info. grumble

The last thing I heard that happened recently was a huge hack of the site and people losing their accounts. The hack went back years and they didn't tell anyone. My account fell into that jurisdiction, but I didn't bother asking for it to be restored. Having to use a thesaurus to talk on the forums or in guilds to avoid anything assumed to be a swear word (assume couldn't be used because it contains ass) was also getting tiresome.

Same :) My art teacher used to get on me all the time for making everything "too symmetrical" lol. I just couldn't help it!

I am really surprised the site did not do any kind of tribute to Adam West :(

poor Legolas, prettier than horses :D. Horses are hard enough to capture!

I want to draw savory but they said sweet so idk...

oh symmetry was my childhood, so was heavily using black crayon. If I had to do art with more than one color it was terrible (just color streaks of my version of what the color order of the rainbow should be...) Not sure what changed in MS because that's when I involved more colors.

Intro to oil painting in college really helped me change it up.

` The symmetry thing could be an autistic thing.

`` Didn't hear about Adam West until now :(

It really went downhill & happy I'm here :)

Too many issues, hackers, things not working & more. Over the years it's just gotten worse & away from the original purpose. Much happier here even though I still drop by there once in a while (less and less these days).

Got news from my lawyer, finally have the offer. A few tweeks needed but if all goes well should be able to sign sometime in the near future... really hope it's by the end of the week x.x

Dad's military (retired now but can't take the army out of the man ;) )

There's a high divorce rate in the military, but my parents made it work :D Mom was the type that didn't mind being alone... did her thing and took time for herself when he was gone. She started missing him when he would come back in the near future. She got to explore a lot of Europe with organized tours when they lived in Germany 5 years before I was born.

With technology we have nowadays it's easier to keep in touch as well. Taking up crafts sounds like a good distraction as well as having the comfort of being near your parents.

It's difficult to part with things but I've been working with someone specialized that has been seeing me for over a year. It's a bit easier now and I keep reminding myself that the cartloads of items I bring to donate will be that much less to pack and unpack :D

I'm trying to focus more on function than attachment pieces. I have 2 desks from great grandfathers. I'm keeping the one I painted and has a large surface area. The other I hope will give me a bit of cash so I can get things I can better utilize while finding a good home for it.

I'm happy your hubby is coming back today. I hope not to hear from you for a little while... enjoy the time with him ;)

I'll have to try and find the drawing sometime. I thought I had it uploaded to DeviantArt but I don't. I'm terrible at drawing people, so I knew Legolas wouldn't turn out that great, but I tried. I erased his face so many times, but eventually just gave in. I'm decent at drawing horses and other animals, but I think that's mainly because I've been drawing horses since I was a toddler. I've had some time to make improvements.

My husband has said divorce isn't an option if there are problems, we'll work through any issues that pop up. Before I met my husband, I didn't mind being alone, but after I met him, that changed. I find things to do to keep myself occupied (like cleaning or working).

Its been nice to be able to keep in contact with my husband while he was at training. He didn't think he would be able to text me because he wasn't sure what cell reception would be like in the Mojave Desert. When he deploys next year, it will be back to letters because he doesn't know how expensive it will be to add the international plan and he isn't sure if they will have wifi. So that will be a hard 12 months for me, but if I'm working at home on the farm that should help a bit. Maybe my husband and I can adopt a dog before he leaves, so I have a pal. I have so many crafts that I want to do. I've got cross-stitch projects that I've started and left half done. A hexagon quilt that I started working on and then put on hold, due to a broken finger, and various other ideas that are still in the idea stage.

Parting with things does make it easier to move. :) I dropped off things 6 bags and some cooking items at Goodwill last night before picking up my husband. This morning I found a pile I had started weeks ago that could have gone too, but it will go with the next haul.

That's smart. I have problems parting with things that have been in my family for generations (course I've also been told I can't get rid of some of those things). The armchair I inherited hasn't been used since I got it, but it should be a pretty comfy chair once I can start using it. The child's dresser is currently storing some smaller things that I inherited from my grandmother. I have at least two huge tubs full of things from my grandmother (as well as some boxes) that I need to go through again and decide if I actually want all of that stuff, or if there are things that I can part with.

My hubby had to go back to the armory today for a half day of drill. He wasn't happy about it last night, and others in his unit weren't happy about it either. But once he gets home, we'll figure out something for lunch and then spend time with each other.

Glad you heard back from your lawyer, hope the kinks get worked out soon hugs

If you get an animal, don't let it sleep in the bed. When hubby will return the pet will let him know it isn't his bed :p I live alone & was in a studio when I had Gismo so he sleeps with me when he wants to.

You can always take pictures of things you're more attached to or have history but are taking up space and not serving a good use.

- I hear dehydration is no fun at all and I have been fortunate enough never to experience a migraine. I can't even imagine having them both together. So good to hear you are feeling better. Now just keep drinking! I'm told it doesn''t all have to be water (although plain water is definitely the best).

I thought the idea of a splint was because you are not supposed to bend your finger at all until it is fully healed?

Sorry to hear you wound up not getting the job, but with your description of your summer activities, maybe it's just as well. It sounds like you already have the equivalent of a full-time job and then some. Maybe you and your parents will come to some agreement about that as you settle in.

Your pickup must have been an interesting sight! You should have saved a picture!

Craft supplies are a big deal these days. There are so many beads and other things for jewelry making. Personally, I think you are wise to keep most of your fabric. It is relatively easy to store and quilts can be so beautiful and useful as well. And I see that you have successfully moved your craft supplies so that you will be able to start using some of them again!

Yuck - if I thought there was a brown recluse around I would not be the one doing the squashing!

Hope both your health and the weather have improved so you start feeling better in general.

It must be nice to have your husband back with you for now. I hope you are enjoying your time together.

The spiders in your apartment are alive - thus proving that they are not useless. It's bug season and I don't even want to think about how many other pests would be around without my spiders (and house centipedes as well - yuck - but I guess they don't like me much either and I'm told that, unlike spiders, many house centipedes don't have jaws strong enough to bite a human).

- I hear your lawyer got your offer. That's great news. Hopefully, things should start moving much more smoothly now.

The landlord's lawyer finally sent the offer. I then had to look & there are corrections that need to be made. I sent the info to my lawyer... now it's again (whine grumble grr grr) wait till things are done and hopefully everything will be resolved next week. Not happy at all about it x.x

If it was just signing papers I'd be less stressed. The biggest issue is that I'm getting a financial amount that due to being on full time disability I will have to spend VERY fast. There's a max I can have in the bank at all times and by the end of the month it will have to be below otherwise I'm in deep trouble. The more time it takes to sign, the worse it will be x.x

By the way, those are some really adorable bunnies :D Just got my cat broom, yay :)

- as long as you have a plan about what to spend it for you should be okay. Also, if it gets too close to the end of the month, you could probably sign the papers at the beginning of the next month instead. People who deal with these sorts of things often have shown me that there always seems to be some way to get things done.

Congratulations on getting your cat broom! And thanks, I'm glad you like my bunnies. They followed me home from BHH so, of course, I just had to wear them. :-)
