One thing about Christmas for me is that I've only ever had one white Christmas! It happened when I was 8, and I remember the snow getting so bad that we got stuck in an alley trying to leave my grandparent's house and the car had to be pushed out. I made so many snow angels and snowmen that year!

I'm not really big on the whole holiday season thing, and Chanukkah is pretty minor. I do enjoy people being all happy, though, so that's nice. Really, this is the time of the year for warm soup, occasionally hot cider, snowball fights, snow sculptures, and then Chinese food and a movie. Oh, and staying up late on New Year's. Then again, every Jewish holiday has food to go with it, adn I do love latkes so /very/ much~ <3 Fresh out of the oil with a mound of cool applesauce? Yes please~!

That's one of my favorite things too! If someone calls out an empty tree on the shoutbox I'll usually go after it and I check the empty tree thread in the Lumi forum :) I will not accept empty trees! XD

It's definitely more romantic sounding than it actually is! I was too young to understand the pain in the neck that it was to drive in the snow. Since my town doesn't receive a lot of snow normally, it was probably totally unprepared and the roads and bus systems would've been a mess. It was really pretty though, if that's any consolation?

I think it's so pretty until the cars drive all over it and make it a gross mess, haha. It's definitely a pain to get around in. But at first, it's just so lovely.

Word! The gross grey snow makes me sad because it's a reminder of how dirty the exhaust from our cars is. Snow that is stomped in all over and slushy isn't nice either. But I love the way snow looks, especially when it's falling.

Totally agree! I lived in Charlotte, NC for a few years and one year there was a pretty good snow and they scraped it off the main streets downtown into big dirty gross piles in parking lots and they stayed there slowly melting for weeks and it made me sad.

I normally like a white Christmas, but we've been buried under snow in NE Ohio for several days ago, and on Thursday we had one of the worst car crashes in history (two actually, along the same stretch of highway - one a 50 car+ and one at ~75!). So I think I'm just looking forward to a peaceful Christmas, this year!
