she smiled at Thranduil appreciately "Thank you...I know its nothing to be ashamed of..I just well..I worry. I know you know I worry and told me not too..Is this what its like for you?" She looked at him concerned, knowing it has bothered him in the past.

A hybrid, huh? Much like herself. Kat smothered a giggle when the flower lady specified the types. "Aconite -- wolfsbane? Haa, who'd've expected that one?" She blushed when Magnus handed her the flowers. It was expected, but still embarrassing. "Thanks," she said softly.

"It is a Japanese name, yes. Oka-san -- that is, my mother, she's from Japan. I did got to Mahoutokoro before I turned eleven. But Dad's a proud Hogwarts alum, and he insisted I switch here when I was old enough. I've spent a lot of time in both countries, and I'll shake hands if you like." She offered a hand to Snow. "No, please, be yourself. I was surprised, not put off." Mention of veela got a triumphant grin and a sudden snap of her fingers. "Yes! That's what it was -- ah, sorry, I just...there was this girl I got to play with as a little kid, the daughter of one of my dad's coworkers. You reminded me of her, but I couldn't figure out why. Now that Snow's said, it, though, I remember. She was part veela too." Kat was embarrassed by her outburst, but true to form it was some bit of interesting information that had caused it, and not Thranduil's appearance.

The invitation to join them for lunch was another surprise, and she looked at Magnus before replying. "If we wouldn't be intruding, I'd love to join you. I don't think I've had much in the way of Carribean food, but any of those would be great. I love spicy."

"Thanks," he said to the flower lady, "I'll speak to me folks. I'd like that."

"I don't mind wandering around wif you all... but..." he looked a little flustered, "I was kinda 'oping to take Kat to an Italian resturant for lunch...as er just us." He was beat-red because the idea had only come to him as a suggestion from Gaia. "But... if you don't wanna, Kat..."

Wanting a distraction he looked at the map of the vendors. "There's an antique stall...maybe I might find a present there for...someone...."

Thranduil stepped back a bit when Kat snapped her fingers, startled, then slowly relaxed as she explained about the girl she had known when she was younger. "How nice of you to have had a playmate," he said, "and to have attended a magical school before coming to Hogwarts. Is your home residence in Japan or..? and yes, food is something that I need, I haven't eaten, and spicy does sound good. "

Thranduil listened attentively to what she has to say, and nodded slightly. He subtly gave the impression he didn't want to talk about it with company around.

Thranduil nodded and said "it was just breakfast I was talking about.. lunch is a much later, more grand affair for me. But, if you wish to go and have your lunch now, feel free. It was nice to meet you both then "

"wait...what?" Now Magnus was blushing so hard. "Um...anywhere's okay for breakfast..." Please kill me now he thought "I thought... er... anyway...." he looked at his shoes as if they were extremely interesting

Snow smiled at Kat and shook her hand "Its a pleasure to meet you. I have never been to the restaurant..but Ive heard things." She smiles "Thank you...its kinda my trial run to see how it goes. My parents and Thranduil have been encouraging me to try it out. What is the Japanese school like? Me mum went to Ilvermorny in America."

She looked at Magnus and sensed his nervousness. "Well I know that Thranduil is used to eating his big meal for lunch. I was thinking breakfast...but I understand if it clashes with your plans."

She smiles at Thranduil her eyes clouded over a little as she was having an allergic reaction or her blood sugar was dropping. "I think though I need to go find some cheese..." she tried to stand up. "Excuse me..."

He shook his head, "No, I just misunderstood is all." Then she said she was in need of food and he called after, "I got a bunch in me pack if you want, including cheese...and meats, pastries and such. I 'ave to cos I need higher calerie intake after me shifts."

Millie was running late, again. She had gotten caught up in packing for her family holiday. She had looked out the window and saw last of the group leaving. "Whoops" she said. She grabbed her coat, hat, scarf, shopping basket and permission slip and ran out of her dorm into the common room. She tripped over her cat and another Hufflepuff's cat, which sent them both running and and hissing.

She made it outside and didn't see anyone to walk with. She made her way down to the small village, hoping to encounter at least one friend. She finally made it into town and realized she had packed her shopping list. "Oh bugger." she said, patting her pockets. She heard a group of students and started walking down towards them trying to remember what was on her list.

She walked up to a cart selling flowers and found Magnus () Kat () Fable () Gaia () and someone else she didn't know () "Hi guys!" she said warmly. "I almost missed the trip because I was backing for my family holiday. Oh" She remembered a few things on her list. "Uh, does anyone have a scrap of parchment and a quill? I forgot my shopping list and just remembered a couple of things on it."

"'Ey Millie." Since Magnus had his bag out anyway he pulled out a piece of parchment and one of his flamboyant peacock quills and handed them to her with a bottle of ink. "Orange ink, me favourite colour. Wanna write on me back?"

Thranduil looked up at the new girl approaching the group, who looked a little distracted. He shook his head no, as he didn't have anything like that on him, but gave her a little smile. Obviously she knew some of the group.

Thranduil looked very concerned at Snow, ready to steady her if she needed it, and was happy she was accepting some cheese from Magnus. He didn't have any food on him, but would have run off to get her something if she needed it.

Thranduil was amused that Magnus was wanting to spend some special time with Katsumi -alone, and chuckled at his discomfort. He knew he shouldn't but it was cute how much he liked her.

She made her way from the Slytherin dorms, afixing her warm black and green knit cap. She wrapped her scarf around her neck and straitened her book bag. She made her way to the front of the school to join the rest of the group about to leave for Hogsmead. Outside she could feel the freezing air stain her cheeks and nose red. She shivered and tightened the scarf around her nose.

She heard a familiar noise and a shadow fell over her form the sky. She ran through the snow, chased by the dark feathery figure. "Jasper" she yelled through laughter. Turning around and reaching her arm up as the large crow landed. "You know I wouldn't leave without you." She cooed stroking his beard.
