Oooh, another place to celebrate fall!
My favorite Thanksgiving dish is one my mom makes- she layers slices of red skinned potatoes and sweet potatoes, and does this delicious roasting of sorts. In the end you get this cheesy/caramely pile o' potatoes.
Hey - take a look at this giveaway!
We do celebrate Thanksgiving, but since everyone on my dad's side of the family (he wanted to retire to this state to stay near his parents and siblings, so here we are) has either moved or passed away, it's kind of depressing. It's just me and my parents, now. All my dad does (since he doesn't cook anything for the day except maybe pecan pie) is watch TV and/or play on my Xbox. Mom cooks the majority of it, and I help out. Last year, I was the one who actually cooked the turkey, and believe it or not, I got the idea for the recipe from Epic Meal Time.
I use cream soda and rum for the liquids (it keep the turkey from getting dry and gives it a sweet yet spicy taste). For the toppings, I used plain Fritos, some salt and vinegar chips, and some cool ranch Doritos. Sounds kinda gross, right? But they add a bit of salt and flavor to the mix, and mix well it does. My parents absolutely LOVED it. And that was the first year I actually ate Turkey (my mom doesn't really do anything special for flavoring and it's always dry).
But I also love my apple pie... and so do my parents. Especially my mom. She usually hates apple pie, but with my recipe that gives it an almost caramel-like taste, she loves it. When she buys a bunch of apple I always know I'm gonna end up making some pie 😊
Though I do also love the appetizers that we snack on until dinnertime. Black and green olives, pickles, spinach dip... god I effing LOVE that spinach dip.
So I can't really choose ^_^;

i LOVE thanksgiving. and i love All the food. this thanksgiving im on wight watchers. that i cant stuff myself till im sick, makes me sad. lol One of my memories of Thanksgiving was when i was little. we camped in a camper for the holiday. the oven was small so we had chicken, but not this time. my mother was all excited. she had got hold of a duck. unfortunately my mom and dad were the only ones that liked it. lol it tasted gamey and was greasy. us kid hated it. so the next year back to chicken. lol ps we had our real holiday feast before we went camping. our poor mother what she did for us ungrateful kids.
-nods- me too lol. I can totally joke about the exploding pie but seriously I think my poor heart was about to give out on me--it sounded like a explosion and then like flying pie and glass. So lol there were no words lol. I the only one in the kitchen at the time. Dad scrambled and got the animals into another room and I couldn't move till they swept around me.
Sounds very much fun :) Thanksgiving is not a celebration here, but in Fall I do enjoy a nice warm tea, biscuits and a book (or my tablet) curled up on the armchair by the window wathcing the leaves fall.
being in the uk we dont do thanks giving,
what I do look forward to is our illuminated carnival that the area I live in have, they are floats that are decorated and are very creative with moving parts, the carnival clubs dress up and some are full of dancers, some are still, will try and find a pic to show later :)
I don't do thanksgiving, but I love going out for walks in the park with all the fallen leaves and taking photos of pretty trees!

My favorite thing to do during fall is probably going for a walk. The weather's fresh and the wind is soft, which is very enjoyable :D
Check out this giveaway, guys!! :D See the first post!
I love Thanksgiving! I think my favorite dish is the cheesy hashbrowns that my grandma makes. <3
Thank you for doing this ^^
I absolutely love Thanksgiving! My favorite dish and memory going hand-in-hand, especially now that I live over 1,000 miles away from family and am unable to return to visit for the holidays. My favorite dish is my mother's sweet potatoes, which she peels yams (rather than the store-bought canned yams), mushes it and adds a little bit of milk and cinnamon, and then tops it with marshmallows in an oven-save dish. Well, one year she forgot to put them into the oven to be cooked, so just as we were about to sit down for dinner, she realized they were missing. So as a family, we decided to "postpone" dinner until they were ready. She put them in the oven without thinking, and within 10 minutes, we saw a large flame.. The marshmallows had caught on fire!! We had to quickly put the fire out and the top was burned. But we scrapped off the burnt pieces and ate the rest because we really wanted it xD It was super funny and crazy, and I miss those memories with my family ❤

- I don't actually celebrate thanksgiving, but I do do one heck of a turkey dinner. My best dish is something I learned how to do from my sister. Don't tell her, but I think mine is better... lol I make cranberries! I add orange rind and some other traditional 'fall' spices to chanberries with a little water and sugar, and it turns into this delicious sensory overload of goodness. I've invited over many friends, and they all rave about it. I even caught one friend telling another person that I do a great cranberry. Anyway, that holiday is all about sharing and being thankful for the goodness in our lives. By cooking good food and sharing good company, that's what makes a turkey dinner so special.
I'm not American e don't like turkey, but I love holidays, thence ... Beef Wellington for Thanksgiving!
Thanks so much for this giveaway! <3 Thanks for pinging me! <3 See first post! :D Jyxxie, I know fall is your favorite!
My favorite things about fall are the colors, the fact that it's not winter, and pumpkin spice everything. I can't wait for our annual pumpkin cheesecake!
Thank you for doing this! Will you ping us to claim a prize when it's time?
My favorite tradition for Thanksgiving is teaching my daughter how to cook. I've been teaching her since she was 6. Now she's 15 and she can help me do almost everything! She's no squeamish about the turkey and she has small hands, so one of her jobs is usually to season the bird under the skin. She thinks it's fun. :)
I thought some of you might enjoy doing this! <3 Thank you, Dryad, for the ping!
Thank you both for this giveaway! Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas to come.
Thanks for the ping, !
I'm a Cuban-American so my Thanksgiving dinner is incredibly mixed with traditions from both sides (and filled with plenty of food!) I have an incredibly large family, so Thanksgiving dinner is always exciting! There's never been one year where we haven't had to set up outdoors because of the amount of people (and food) we have, haha. Last year's was even bigger than those from the past... we had to set up three long rows of back-to-back tables just to fit everyone! Since we don't technically experience fall down here, we try and make our dinners as decorated and over-the-top as possible.

Thanks for the ping !
For Thanksgiving i usually go to my grandmother's house in Rhode Island where we gather with my mother's side of the family to eat food, catch up, and figure out what people want for Christmas if they haven't already thought of gifts to get you! It's fun but can be overwhelming since it's such a small house, and there's so many of us.

My family always goes to Vegas during Thanksgiving. Part of it is because of the buffets. Another is because the bathtubs are bomb.
Gambling is fun too, hahaha
Actually tho, it seems like a lot of people go to Vegas during Thanksgiving. We meet a lot of friends (from all over the world, really) just by coincidence!

Thank you both so much for hosting another great giveaway!!! :);)
my favorite hobby ( not only in fall ) but whole year around , is geocaching ( a treasure hunting - kind of game) you can google it :)
i love to try to find "the treasure" not only traditionals and multi's but also the mysteries are great to solve !!! altough some of them give me a big headache rofl :):) Most of the time we walk between 15-25 km or if we are on our bikes its most of the time between 65 and 85 km that we do !!!
and then ....... after a hard day of "working" in the fields, I love to spoil myself with an Italian coffee with a big "amaretto" boost and lots of whiped cream on top of it mostly i bake some , what i call " "pancake Normandie" wich is basicly baking and caramalising some apple slices - flame them with some armagnac and then I poor the dough on it - realy great pancakes i love them and would eat them until i burst :):)
O: now this is something joyous I needed today
Lets see...my favorite tradition was always when all my family would come from all over the midwest, but sadly we haven't done that since 2003 or 4. I haven't really made any new traditions, aside from enjoying some quiet time. Last year my roommate and I invited a very nice older lady to come have dinner with us. We'd met her when we were staying at a temporary month-to-month place while apartment hunting, and she didn't have any family in the area.
My new favorite Thanksgiving food is homemade applesauce. I actually used to dislike basically everything on the table (my family's recipes, while traditional, weren't actually very good - the turkey was dry, the stuffing was too seasoned for me, I don't like the gravy recipe my grandma used to use...basically I'd just eat the sugar off the sweet potatoes and wait for pie...which I would then not eat the crust of the pie XD). Now that I cook my own thanksgiving food I'm a lot happier with the results. And people people if you used canned cranberry sauce or jar applesauce I cannot recommend enough trying your hand at making your own this year. It's actually very very very easy and omg tastes so good.
