One of our friends works at a bkery and is always bringing us over really nice bread and scones etc. Definitely a good place to work if you can handle the early hours, bakery food is so amazing. I'm glad your manager is nice enough to tell you you're doing a good job too! It's a great feeling, especially if you've had problems that day with feeling confident because of a customer or whatever.
I've seen reports of hate crimes increasing in Australia too now that a few days have passed, even right on my university campus - a campus praised for its range of cultures and general student open-mindedness. The advice I've been reading is that if somebody is being harassed in public e.g. train or cafe a good way to defuse the situation is just sit down with the victim and start a regular conversation (though of course, some situations need actual police intervention, not just defusing). Compliment their outfit, ask how they are etc and supposedly it is common for the attacker to just give up after you block their attempts in this way a few times. Does this sound about right to you, based on what you've read? I'm determined to stop being a bystander - it's scary standing up to these people, but it's even scarier being on the receiving end without anybody helping.
I'm sorry you missed your pet name :( it's so hard when it's a name multiple people want. I've only ever stayed up to catch a name once and that night was so nerve-wracking! Even the weeks leading up to that point were stressful.
I hope everybody is having a good week. I'm going to have my last exam of the year tomorrow, and it's an easy one, so I'm basically free! I'm a bit worried about what yesterday's exam result will be, but I can't change it now. Now I'm taking the time to catch up on Pokemon Moon :)
yes, that accords with what I've read. Its simple, positive action. The psychology behind it is not merely affecting the harasser, but energizing the other people around you. If the harasser doesn't stop at that point, other bystanders are more likely to add their support to the victim and show their disapproval of the harasser. It also models for the bystanders how they can help when they see it again.
It does take a lot of courage to do, but it helps that you don't actually have to confront the harasser (which is the scariest part).
Most of the stuff talks about physically non-violent situations. If it ever includes physical violence, that's a whole other story, and much more complex. Not only in terms of danger to the individual wanting to intervene, but even deciding if calling police is the right thing to do. There have been many situations where calling the cops ends up with the victim in even more trouble.
Good luck on your last exam!

Hello! I'm rather new to Subeta. I think I joined ... two weeks ago now? I'm trying to make some friends and thought the Small Talk forums would be a good place to start. Lumi seems like a good time to have joined, with all the free stuff, the quest-a-thon, and everyone being super friendly.
Hope everyone is doing well!
I LOVE VICKS VICKS IS THE BESTEST whatever it is, it worked bc I'm feeling better today 8D maybe it was the virtual hug c;
also adulting is not fun D: I'm sorry /hugs back
HI! c: I'm usagi, you can call me usagi or Tea or whatever you want yeah, lumi is the best time of the year on subeta for me at least, it's definitely the friendliest and most generous! :3 if you need any help regarding subeta, feel free to ask us! :3 there's the wardrobe, pets, restocking, quests, (making sp in general), battling on here to try~ have you gravitated toward one aspect of the site yet?
Hi, usagi! :3 Your avatar is adorable, by the way. I like the HA aspect the best! It was the main reason I joined, because the clothing and bases looked great, and I'm collecting stuff for my wardrobe mostly right now. I was a part of other sites that had HA, but they lost my interest because of inflation/poor admins, but Subeta seems great! <3
Thank youuuu! pastel hobo chic ftw xD
Yeah, I love subeta's avatar system. It is the prettiest I've come across. c:
of all the dailies, https://subeta.net/explore/shengui_guo/bathhouse/pools.php is the most worthwhile btw because it gives you cash shop credits (csc) every 10 days as long as you visit consecutively!
I would also recommend http://www.subetalodge.org/ because it is THE list of items on site, be it clothes or not you can make an account there and keep track of your colllections :3
Ooh, I didn't know the Bathhouse gave out CSC :0 That's exciting. I signed up for one of those ping threads for it because I was always forgetting about it.
My friend who referred me to Subeta also mentioned that site, but I had mostly just been using it to try to find items to add to my wardrobe haha. I'll have to make an account, thanks!
yeah, it's a great way to save up over time for like a monthly collection or something :3
np!
