- has anyone considered asking staff whether we're really supposed to be getting one weather obstacle after another (I think I counted five so far??? Four for sure - at least two each wind and monsoon - one after the other.) If this is just bad random events, okay, I guess, but otherwise maybe there's a bug or something???

I did not consider it because this time aroung we've been getting a lot more Obstacles altogether. There's a FAQ question where they say that they're random. Random likelihood times a much higher likelihood of an event at all means we're seeing more of these.

: 2 wind, 3 monsoon... and they take 20 minutes each. :( + time after until the next obstacle appears. Major damper on our progress (and enjoyment, since there's nothing we can do during this time to feel like we're moving).

I haven't asked, but I'm not sure if anyone else has.

I suspect the frequent weather obstacles might be an effect of having more obstacles in general + we are still in the lead so it's safe to assume the other team has been getting some too, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

: I haven't heard of Sagg's team having any wind obstacles (although I admittedly haven't reached out to team members to ask). I do know they have had monsoons (not sure of the frequency), and I also know that they've taken quite a bit of time completing a Matlal's Jewels obstacle.

Still, if the wind obstacle is the only one that physically pushes your team back, I feel like both teams should be experiencing that. Even if they seem to have dialed back its effect from what it was yesterday.

- yes, but random obstacles makes it very unlikely to get so many of these in such a short period - we've gotten almost nothing else for the past few hours and there are many other obstacles we should have a chance of getting.

- thanks for the info. I wonder which staff member is on event night duty? It really is starting to seem improbable that these events should be just random. Not impossible, of course, just improbable.

We seem to be getting mostly rain and monsoon and some just mentioned that Team Saggi has gotten the Matlal's Jewels task four times. Could there be a problem with the random number generator or something? Do we need to ask grelca?

I swear it's a miracle we haven't lost our lead, yet. We've barely been ahead this whole time. Such a close race! o.o I want to go to bed, but at the same time I'm scared to wake up and find out we're way behind again, lol. Plus I won't be able to get on and participate hardly at all tomorrow.

Okay, so I definitely need to head off to bed. X_x I'd love if people could continue to track when we encounter obstacles and when we pass them (when the event/notice disappears from the trail page). If you're interested in helping me keep up with this log, please either post on the board AND PING ME, or sMail me the information. It'll save me from trying to hunt down posts on the board tomorrow to figure out when obstacles might have started and finished. I would like the information in this order: NAME OF EVENT: (start of obstacle)-(end of obstacle -- the time in which there is no longer a notice on the trail page) It'd also be great to know when speed boosts start and end, since speed boosts increase frequency of obstacles.

For those unaware, I'm using this information to help figure out the timing between obstacles so that we can have a close estimate on when the next obstacle will be occurring. This should help people meet their daily goals and take some anxiety away from having to leave the computer.
