I assume you were directing that at me since you quoted me and all.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that goes against the community guidelines you have to agree to before you can be on the forums.
I won 500 CSC last week from the Camp Veta contest, I can use the bathhouse for referral points, I have 20 spare forum points, and have no need for retired cash shop items or old CWs. None of the prizes were really appealing to me, but I still entered because I found the idea fun, and it was said the more entries there would be, than other prizes would be added.
I entered for fun, but figures that a forum title that I really liked was released, and I didn't get it because I won some Common Rue. And two other items, but still, I repeat that I would have taken the forum title over every single prize that was given in the raffle. It really was what I liked the best out of everything, and I'm not salty I didn't get it, but I can't deny I'm disappointed.
As a bystander (aka completely disregarding whatever I won) I thought the extra prizes were a bit of a slap in the face. Just because: hey you did these pricier tasks during the event yay! Now have some of the items you needed for them except they're almost useless now bc let's be real who makes scrolls on their own time. The baking stuff is at least still partly in demand because people are still working on their baking level.
For me, I think the scroll items probably should have been left out because they're very cheap to restock, (they were literally the mystery box yesterday), and their price will go back down very quickly now that they're not in demand because they were only needed for the raffle in the first place. That's my assessment.
I really enjoyed the raffle, and the different tasks each day (it made sure I went and battled so I had a pet that needed healing too! :P) :D
I was a bit confused why the lower rarity "really common" items were included, when I spotted my alerts to say I'd won a Basil and a Coal (given that at that point I'd not read the news post fully, and had checked my alerts / pings first). I wasn't expecting to get stuff worth the amount I'd chosen to spend to participate, and was pleased with the forum ticket I also won. I kind of see what staff were aiming for, given there were so many entries, and I'm in no way saying "everyone should get something" because we all got the forum title, and that's fine :D But maybe for a future raffle, the consolation prize would be better being left out? To me the coal just sounded like I'd been naughty and only deserved coal from Santa Melody at Luminaire :P (although I'm sure it wasn't intended that way).
I do like the way we were able to get multiple entries by doing the tasks each day - definitely don't lose that if there's another raffle style event thing in the future! ;) And speaking of which, I do hope we get another raffle-type activity at some point though, as regardless of the prizes it was definitely fun to enter, and I would still try my hardest to enter the maximum number of times next time ;)

I think it's alright to feel disappointed. It's understandable. You get excited for something only to find out that you didn't get what you want. However, there are a some people (at least, in the news comment. I didn't read all the posts here so I don't know) that think they deserve something or deserve better, and I think that's not okay. There's a difference, right? There's being disappointed about not winning anything worthwhile versus feeling entitled to a prize or better prize. This was a raffle. There's no guarantee you'd win anything of value or anything at all. That risk is on you. I never enter a raffle expecting to win anything. If I do, yay. If I don't, bummer. That's how it goes. It saddens me that some users think that just cause they spent a certain amount, they should get back that amount or greater. You shouldn't enter a raffle with that expectation.
With that said, most users have been really great though so yeah. And I totally understand getting an alert, thinking you won one of the prizes mentioned beforehand, but instead getting the random items that were added last minute. Feels bad. It's also kind of hard to express disappointment without sounding unappreciative. I guess you don't have be grateful about getting "junk", but I'm of those that think it's the thought that counts. I also get how having these prizes mentioned earlier would help ease that disappointment but personally, I thought it was cool they added last minute prizes. I thought it was nice. It was kind of hard me to wrap my head around that being a negative thing, but it guess it's just one of those personal preference thing.
I really enjoyed this event. I got me to do things. I've been lazy :P
I guess I'm also baffled by why staff thought it was a good idea to let the same users win numerous "good" prizes. The only time I've seen that happen is if you entered into individual raffles. Say, if we'd had the option to enter for just the CSC or just the referral point, etc. Normally, in an across the board entry like this you'd only be able to win one prize.
The vast majority of raffles I've seen work this way? I know sometimes you have the option to enter various contests, but in my experience it's been way more common to enter one and have a chance at different things. My son just entered one at our county fair like this last week. It varies if you can win more than once (I've seen some say "one winner per household" and others not), but that's why we made sure to note from day one that you would be able to win multiple times.
From the first news post announcing the contest:
I was only able to enter the raffle four days, I wasn't around on the others. But on the days I did enter I thought it was really fun! c: It made me get back into subeta.
I won Soybean Oil and I'm happy with it. Of course it would have been nice to win something better, but I'm not going to complain about getting a free item. I actually really like how everyone got something, even if it's just a title or a cheap item.
Maybe next time staff should give out more salt prizes. :P
I think raffle should be synonymous with unfair.
Because well, that's what a raffle is. Random. Doesn't matter if you spent 1 sp or 1mil sp, an entry is an entry, you know? ;O At the end of the day, they both are the same.
I think it was easy to get carried away with thinking you could win given hundreds of prizes being distributed, but after seeing the stats, idk how anyone is still confused about it. There were thousands upon thousands of entries. xD
Ty for sharing the stats, staff. I think it helps put things into perspective. Also ty for additional prizes. I won't even bother adding anything about those, because it's all been said on this thread. :x
I spent around 4-5 mil on the raffle because I got shrine and baking tasks every single day. In return, I got a raffle ticket and an orange. Honestly, I was hoping I'd win a cash shop prize when I entered, but I had so much fun doing the tasks, that by the end I really didn't give a shit if I won or not. The best part? Pouring out my heart to poor Oatmeal the goat (who I never knew existed prior to this event), who had to devour pages and pages of my shitty angst, lol. Honestly, that was an awesome task and I'd be ok with getting zero prizes because I got to vent to a barnyard animal (sorry, Oatmeal).
But seriously, it's discouraging to see the amount of whining going on. You are not entitled to a prize just for entering! Raffles are always a game of chance, and I think it was nice of staff to throw in some extra prizes so that us "losers" (people who didn't win a main prize) still got something for our efforts. I, for one, will happily accept my orange and be grateful to have had a fun event that killed some time last week!
i got two items that weren't main prizes and for only entering 3 times that's some pretty nice odds. i'm still pretty stoked i won anything at all.
underneath the human avatar. click the heart by the word post :)
I didn't make this board to give anyone a place to attack other people. Can it be locked, please?
If anyone's goal was the forum title, they should have just entered once so you'd have less chances to win.
