Varying the time of day might help, but I actually like the idea of doing a lottery for slots (maybe within the first 24 hours of the initial ping) as well. c:
Or maybe a combination? If you increase the number of batches, then the first/second batch could be first-come first-serve like it is now and then the rest of slots could be lottery-based.

I think increasing the bonus would be good since so many people seem to want it.

The box seems really great! Love how people can split a box too. Just waiting for an item I can't live without now :)
I've seen some great ideas for distributing the bonus item that were already mentioned. I wasn't able to buy a box yet and even if I was on time, I would not have the chance to get it with how fast it sells out all the time. Why not have some kind of rotating (requirement) system? Like one month with a third batch to purchase, another one to raffle off a third batch to all the users that were too late or just only make it available if you purchase a specific box (rotate from a to b to c).
1)+2) A bonus item has to be attractive, but so far we haven't had anything besides dresses and backgrounds (correct me if I'm wrong please!). And the more gorgeous they are, the more people want them. Maybe you could make something more like a cheaper CW accessory as bonus item for the first anniversary of the box (or any other special occasion) which is not unlimited but easier to obtain with 5 batches or so. Everything else is fine, I think ;p

02. You do not have to own any of the items to submit a contest entry. Use the wardrobe&;s "All Items" function to play with outfit ideas.
03. You may use the wardrobe&;s sharing function to post your HA submission. (Save the outfit, then use the code listed under the "Outfits" tab to post.) Alternately, you may upload your entry to an external hosting site and link it here.
04. You may edit your entry as many times as you want before the final deadline. Judging will not happen until after the deadline ends.
