Marwolaeth (Welsh, meaning Death)
The doctor often just goes by Mar, but any who stumble into her hospital learn the meaning of her true name fairly quickly. Best to avoid her at all costs.
On a side-note, I've had this pet for kind of a long time and never had a theme for her and now I do, so thank you!

Eh, its something. Also a medical/chemisty joke...
Why are Helium, Curium, and Barium considered the 3 medical elements?
Because if you can't healium or cure-ium, you bury-um.
heya, just to clarify, is that your entry for the contest? If so there is a few information I need you to add before placing you under my pile of applicants. Also, never heard that "joke" before but it's definitely a good life motto ;>
Thank you very much for applying! Always a great pleasure to see our kind of services striving like a badly infected wound~
Another late night shift for the deputy, it seemed. His wife actually preferred it so, now that she had grown accustomed to being alone with just the kids, her thoughts and her burdens. Ever so softly, down the corridor once more. A mother's duty you see, to assure her precious treasures were safe and sound in bed. "Sweet dreams", she'd almost hum while peeking in. And so, as if by magic, there it was again, right next to her daughter's pillow. Brown, dirty, unholy. The little sac with the number 13 sewn across. A gratuity for her troubles. Plus a constant reminder that, were she to change her true alliances, things could turn really bad really fast.

Yes, I shall make it my post for now. Lacking the time to doodle anything up, so I'll stick with it. Naming myself, CulexTheNinetails, title; Construct Professor, Culex.
[.Oru] I thought it would be too gorey and over the top but it was really good! I couldn't turn away and it was interesting because there are definitely people like this who exsist in the world. I'm actually about to watch another...creepy movie now lol. It's called the Womb with Matt Smith in. It looks pretty disturbing and I'm fairly sure I will question humanity after it, but thats what makes a good movie lol.

Going in for my second application, because I saw the potential for a parody and could not resist.
Professor Wood"Hello, there," someone said in a grating tone that was far from a friendly greeting. In fact, there seemed to be sarcasm as he added, "Glad to meet you. Welcome to the world of science."
A white haired man in a shredded lab coat came out into the research room from behind a corner. In fact, his skin was shredded in several spots, too, and small ratlike creatures were gnawing on the flesh. Now and then they would emit bolts and flashes of what looked to be lightning. This was not at all what you expected when you were told you would be given a scheduled tour of the premises.
"My name is Wood. People call me the Project Monster Professor. This world is inhabited by creatures called Monsters," he explained in a monotone voice. "For some people, these projects become pets. Others use them for fighting rings or even personal battle companions in war. Myself... I study project monsters as a profession. Which I deeply regret."
He picked up a clipboard from the counter, and shook off one of the creepy lightning emitting rats. It was flung into a destroyed laboratory cage behind him. There was another project monster clinging to his leg as well, so, with a sigh, he pulled a small blaster out of his pocket and shot it off him. "With electric type monsters, you have to simulate vibrations equivalent to an earthquake in order to effectively combat them. Damn monsters got a taste for flesh. Don't worry about me, though. I'm used to it. My laboratory provides stimulants and pain medication for the researchers."
Sure enough, the rest of the electric type project monsters scurried into the darkest reaches of the cages. Observing this, the professor added, "They seem to be comfortable in small spaces. The tighter and more confining, the better." He shook his head and deposited the blaster back into his pocket, then pulled a bottle of whiskey off of a nearby shelf. He opened the bottle and yanked his medical mask off his face. After a few chugs, he muttered a diatribe. "I have got to get out of this research lab soon. I applied for work recently in a clinic, so maybe I can take that career path out of this hell. Monsters are great and all, but it would be nice to work with something more human, especially something that would not be in the habit of eating me..."
As if to punctuate his woes over his current job, one of the electric monsters went back to eating his foot. He ignored it with relative stoicism. "Well. Let's get to business. Tell me a little about yourself. Are you a boy or a girl? What is your name? Oh, don't feel personally offended that I forgot already. I have a grandson about your age. I can never remember his name, either."

"[.Oru]?" A timid head peeks in, the most recognisable features being a pair of soft bear ears upon her head. "Do you remember me? I'm Butter, I came to see you before."
Her bear ears twitch as she enters the room upon permission, and she is almost as shy as their first visit. However this time, she is dressed in a sort of nurse outfit more suited for cosplay than a clinic. Well, A for effort, perhaps.
"I'm not here as a patient this time Doctor," she says. "I heard you were leaving, and..."
Butter proceeds to burst into tears, prompting alarm from the doctor. But Butter simply shakes her head, rubs her eyes roughly and attempts to maintain eye contact.
"I've been on the road to recovery, Doctor," the girl says, trying to smile between hiccups. "Ever since I came here to ask you about my bear ears, ever since you told me I shouldn't remove them and I should learn to love myself for who I was..." Butter's voice grows stronger. "I can never thank you enough Doctor, for those kind words you said to me that day, for the little gift you gave me."
In respond to the doctor's kindly nod, Butter's face saddens. "I don't want you to leave, Doctor. I know you have your own troubles, and you shouldn't face them alone. You're always helping people, but don't let yourself fall apart because of it, okay?"
"And that's why..."
A little hand places a slightly crumpled piece of paper upon the desk. It looks like a decently-written application form to be a nurse, besides the fact that it was done in orange Sharpie. Butter steels herself and stands straighter than ever.
"I may not be good with needles, I may be afraid of blood sometimes. I don't think I could handle knives or body bags or the sort." Her face softens but her voice seems to grow more resolute. "But I will be able to help you calm a panicked patient, bring you tea when you are stressed, and help around the clinic, Doctor."
"You made me smile for the first time in a long time that day, Doctor. I don't want to see you leave."
Random Extra
What a strange girl.
The meeting was over, and little Butter had given a huge hug to the doctor before taking her leave. It wasn't common, but it wasn't unpleasant either. There she went, easy to spot out the window of the study, wandering out the front door.
Nurse Butter... Put together, it sounds like an odd title. Especially for someone who did not seem to have a lot of experience in the field. And the outfit seemed extremely out of place within the manor. Not to mention her medical background, which included depression and self-abuse. Can the poor creature really handle herself here?
Wait, was she walking... towards the graveyard stable? What is she doing?!
...Woah. She's really good with animals, isn't she? Even half-dead ones, to be exact. Look at her petting them and letting them lick her face. WAIT, THAT ONE IS GOING TO TAKE A BITE OUT OF HER- oh, she just stared it down. Not everybody has that kind of flair with beasts. A slab of meat here, some watering down there. Amazing.
Maybe it would be worth hiring Nurse Butter, at least just to keep the creatures in check.

Don't sell yourself short - literally. You shouldn't throw around art like that, unless you planning on $$$ ;>
Thank you very much for your applications! Your gift towards beasts and other little monstrosities is certainly a nice highlight, even if just for the feeding aspect of it ( be sure to gain some meat in yer bones, will you?).
[.Oru] I've been reading your conversation on American Mary, and I'm intrigued! Despite my adoration of anything macabre, I'm actually a HUGE crybaby when it comes to horror. I can't even watch the tv show Supernatural without whining in the arms of my partner. I watched the trailer for American Mary (which was beautifully done). I'm interested. But how much of the movie is suspense/anxiety inducing?

Tbh, nothing really freaks me out in term of gore/torture/suspense/ "creepy", so I consider the film to be actually milder than mild (it works more along the plot quality than the gore/horror quality). Plus it deals more with body horror towards modification than random gorefest. + no nerve reeling moments that I recall.
However, if you have issues with Supernatural series, I would maybe advice for you to see it with your better half too, just in case c:
[.Oru] Hmmm you feel uncomfortable the whole way through. The pace of the film, and how somber it is, amplifies that feeling too. It's raises some interesting concepts but doesn't delve into them all the way which is something that I didn't like, but I've never had a movie make me feel that particular emotion for that extended period of time. I would recommend you watch it for that alone actually.

Late at night, a letter finds it's way into the doctor's hands. There is no seal attached to it, only a small vial with something that might have been blood once or something even more ambiguous.
[I]Greetings dear Doctor, it saddens me to hear of your soon to be departure to unknown lands. The shadows know I love how devious your mind can be. Therefore and in order to make sure no one can besmirch your good (or bad, depending on whom you ask) name, I shall do my very best as your substitute and successor. Once I have established myself, I will send you some samples of new … songs I created. Most patients have such lovely voices and even those who don’t will sound delightful after I have made some improvements.
I remain forever yours truly

Another letter arrives, this one written in careful calligraphy and smelling strongly of...laudanum? Giving it a quick sniff, you find that is--undoubtedly--laudanum. It reads as follows:
Greetings Doctor,
I have been following your work for some time now. I was so very disappointed to hear of your planned departure from your lovely clinic. I truly never thought I would see the day when I would be sad to a man leave, but here we are. Ah, and here I had just been planning on inviting you to tea sometime. Alas. I shall move forward from the pleasantries and get to the matter of it: I wish to offer myself up as a candidate for the new head of Poveglia Clinic. My asylum is lovely and all, but it holds rather unpleasant memories that I do quite wish to dispose of soon. It is true that I have only recently came into my position as Headmistress of this asylum. I shan't deny my involvement in the bloody uprising just last Autumn. In fact, I am quite pleased to say that I led the girls here and disposed of the foul "doctors" and "nurses" that formerly were employed here. They had to go, you see. Let's just say that they were subject to the same treatments they so loved to give us and that they did not survive the treatments. Terrible, that. Ah well, these things happen! I can promise you that your Clinic and Estate would be well taken care of, and your residents be treated with the utmost respect. You needn't fear, dear Doctor.
Yours Truly, Headmistress Emily The Asylum for Wayward Victorian Girls
In the bottom-right corner, following the signature, there appears to be a small red heart painted onto the parchment. Though what it was painted with is truly indeterminable, though you have a few guesses....
