That's why I personally think it's random :p Might be random among a certain group of weapons, but it is still random.

Yeah I'm thinking it's probably random too...but I'm hoping there's a way they limited the pool so that everyone's not trying every weapon on the site. :/

After 95 losses testing 8 weapons each battle i finally beat the Troll the first time. I don´t think that it matters but fight number 100 was my fidth win. I tried so many weapons i cant even tell how many i tried. i went through the weapon list and bought every weapon i could afford. i spent millions and millions of sp. first i sorted the list afer the user shop price and bought the cheap ones but then the amory got so messy that i decided to order it alphabetical. it was way much easier to find the weapons. tried also many theories and bought also many many weapons but then it also got messy and he decided to work through the list with me together. i ordered my list from A-Z and he from Z-A. We had another huge theory and we wanted to test it.

After hours and hours of buying more and much more weapons in teamwork he finally found the right one :) YAY

Then we tested our theory: we wondered wether the weapon changes after 5 wins in total or if it changes when someone gets the special loot automatically or if the weapon is changed after someone gets the special loot by a staff member. Because the staff mentioned that they get an event as soon as someone beats the Troll. Why should they get the event if they wouldn´t NEED to know.. Or maybe the automatic weapon change takes a few seconds.. So we hoped that it would be the third case and we tried to beat him at the same time. After five fights in total we knew that it had to be either the second or the third case. In our fifth fight i let badblacksheep slightly click a few milliseconds before i clicked. I just wanted to make sure that he would get the special loot if the second case would be right.. But. Luckily it must be the third one because...

So we came to the conclusion that the items must be random this time it was a retired weapon it was the [item2=Snowplow of Unexpected Carnage]. And the trick how we OUTWIT the Troll seems to be teamwork in our opinion. We wanted to test our theory and it worked. I wondered about it since the first person beat it and the weapon didn´t work anmore. But evertime someone beated the Troll the weapon was posted after the fifth win and i know it this time it´s the same due to testing the theory.. But in my opinion we all should work through that list together and if someone is lucky and finds the right weapon it should be posted and everyone can fight him 4 times and then the 5th battle should be done together as soon as possible ( because we don´t know if the random weapon changes every hour or not) at the same time. Maybe it is possible that not everyone will get the 5th win at the same time due to site lags or whatever but i think a bunch will get it. So i will try every weapon i bought now again and i hope someone will get lucky :)

Congratulations! So what you did was have 2 people select the same winning weapon for the fifth win each at almost the same time? So that means it's a universal random weapon that resets after 5 wins by 1 person, and every so often. That's a pain :c

If people are doing this together, it might be good to organize people to test only 1 tier of items? So 1 person does only tier 1, another only tier 2, etc so that people aren't filling their armory and wasting too much sP at one time? And that way we can hit the largest spread of items, it seems to be tier 1 and 2 only but not too many people have won to definitely say this is the case... [Edit] Adding a List of Tier 1 Weapons I'll be checking... will update this post again or make a new post

But i think it is less work for everybody if we work together. ;) good idea :) i´ve got around 8 / 26 Pages of subetalodge weapons in my armory.I will try them again and let you know if i get lucky. Badblacksheep also bought a lot. so it should be at least around 11 pages out of 26. i also tried potions/ vials etc. but honestly i hope that they won´t be used as weapons because it gets a little expensive. i also didn´t buy 3 pages of items (180) because they were to expensive i hope that those won´t be choosen as well and that you´re right with tier 1 / 2 because i bought every weapon that my pet could use (tier 6) and badblacksheep (tier 8)

I'm thinking we should start a google spreadsheet with a list of all weapons and people can claim which weapons they're testing. So we don't have duplicates being checked at the same time? I'm currently making my armory list to post.

If we could get 33 people (don't know if that's possible lol) but there's 33 pages of T1 and T2 weapons on Subetalodge. Have a list of the pages and each person gets assigned to one and then we each go buy that page of weapons and test. Then it would minimise cost/armory loading/time and whatever else. -shrug- Just an idea!

I was just wondering whether it could be something that involves multiple users like randomly, the xxxth battle wins and sets the winning weapon (probably not unless Ajavi and badblacksheep managed to outwit the database and/or staff with their simultaneity).

Another idea was what if the winning weapon is whatever was last used by another user? That could also explain the dual win.

Finally, one way to check whether the weapon is manually changed by staff would be for a winner to share their winning weapon with another user via smail/phone rather than posting. Of course that requires someone with a close friend/family member also on Subeta to actually manage to win :-). Just a thought.

I'm really hoping there is actually some element of cooperation or some puzzle here - otherwise it's just frustrating. I'm so impressed by how tenacious and patient you all are to collect all this data.

I think if we're doing this then a new topic might be easier with the first post as a master list of who is doing which page and the exact search for subetalodge everyone participating has to do so we don't miss anything.

I am up for this teamwork thing, we should link the pages so we know who has what. This is a huge task, but if we can work together we can get it. What better way to beat a troll then to band together.

So if someone finds a weapon that beats the troll, they should ping the group and we should all try to beat him at the same time? going to be tricky.
