Me and a couple others looked into the item ID/user ID/pet ID possibility but didn't find anything. I even tried linking the item ID with the amount of sP I carried on hand but that didn't work either :/

perhaps the clue is something to do with the statistics? I mean, the one page I'm sure everyone is so tired of seeing is the Statistics page where we go to forfeit the battle. would those numbers there correlate to something?

Also, any Admins reading, I wouldnt mind a Hot or Cold response here. >_> or on anything suggested that might give us a hint that we are at least on the right track...

I tried to see about the descriptions and here what I think:

Anyu Brass Knuckles: furry friend's - troll?

Goldbrand: true warriors can master - troll slayer

Illumis Dawn Bug Zapper: it may zap you! - zap=trolling

Hikei Grooming Brush Shield: pretty! - trolls are ugly

Unadorned Silver Sword: A common sword, unfinished and unwrapped. It still has an edge... - I don't know how it's connected to a troll X_X

Some people think it's just a random weapon that changes after someone beats the troll. We haven't had two people fighting at once to prove this theory. I want to believe it's not random but the weapon you need to beat him with changes with respect to something on your account that can also change which is why person A can beat him with a different weapon than person B

so let's say it's only tier 1-2, we don't really have a lot of them so it should cycle at some point, also the pool of items is limited I believe. so this is why I think that there is a pattern and we are doing it all wrong.. maybe the answer is just in front of us and we are messing our minds xD

if it is going to be restockables they'd filter it by rarity, so I think that is out of the theory pool now.

Was it said that only the bug zapper worked? I thought it was just the hikei shield and a random weapon the user had on hand.

I think you guys should forget about the bug zapper, it was the grooming brush that let me beat him. :c The zapper just happened to be the other weapon in my set for my first victory. I tested it before my five wins were up, and it was definitely the grooming brush that did it.

okay that's what I thought but people mentioned the bug zapper and I got confused :p you probably would have beaten it with just the shield if it did any offensive icons.

I've read all the theories, googled "out wit the troll", read up on outsmarting/outwitting internet trolls, tried to find a link between the person's post count/pet/itemID to no avail. I can not see any logical pattern. I'm going to make something to eat and try every weapon I have one by one, it's the only thing I can think of. Which will be a whole lot of wasted time but what else can I do?

Yes, I think that's what caused all of the confusion and I feel bad. |D All I know is that I'm really glad that using the brush also allowed other weapons to work, otherwise that stupid battle would have raged on into infinity, and I would take death first. :P

And in case anyone wonders, I did try using the brush on its own, and while it did still cancel out all of his attacks/defense, it did not do any damage. So its attributes weren't changed at all, it just stopped him from doing anything.

It's not your fault! This challenger is just really confusing and all of us are grasping at straws to explain it

I get that the whole point of this opponent is to "troll" us, but perhaps staff forgot that trolls are just unbearable.

The only way I know to beat an internet troll in real life is to ignore them and don't respond... I tried not attacking at all a couple rounds but that didn't work :p

I tried the first night of sitting in the battle doing nothing for like 9 hours while I slept. that did nothing :C

There's no connection between the items. Name theme ? No. Specific elements for attacking ? No. Blockers vs. attackers ? No. Rarity ? No. Tier ? No. Time ? No. Key words in descriptions ? No.

... Could it relate to our first weapon ? Like, our first weapon we used or put in our armory ?

My set hanged throughout my 5 wins but my armory was constant. There still is something that causes a change after win 5 though.

I mean the first item you ever used for battling. When you first started battling waaay back in the day. It's a long shot and I'm not sure if they'd even be able to code it that way. But I don't see how any of these items correlate to anything.
