Basically. I didn't go there often, but I heard that sometimes you could get Subeautique items from it if you were lucky.

I was. Not fanatically, but I'd pop in if I noticed it was midnight and I was still up. I don't get the mentality in closing it now -- "We meant to close it a long time ago, but we forgot 'cause we got our ish that together, and even though it hasn't been hurting anyone since then, we're going to yank it from you guys anyway."

Someone pointed out to me that the oracle shop was still a thing (which it wasn't supposed to, like I said we moved it off the map/out of oracle text ages ago with the intention of it being closed!) and I closed it down, because that's a thing I can do now because yay access to editing pages around site. Same with the fact that the snowball shop was open (accidently) too long last year and when I was alerted I made sure to close it. :)

: Okay. But it was less than a year ago that another feature was disabled (the chance for a second item in the same day from Shinwa), with the similar reason given that it was supposed to be disabled muuuuuuch earlier but no one ever got around to it. In the meantime, people had grown accustomed to having it around, including lots of people who weren't present for the original discussion about removing the feature.

It seems to me that if there wasn't ever any urgency to take away either of these features, then they must not have been doing any real harm to the site. Moreover, it strikes me as good PR to just start the discussion anew (maybe the circumstances which led to the decision to remove the shop have since changed?) instead of saying, "We're carrying out a decision we made in 2012. Too bad if you weren't around to chime in then."

Could we at least get some advance notice for any other off-the-map pages that get killed off?
