I logged in just a minute or so ago, and noticed a little icon/button appear in the right lower corner while I was viewing the news page.

I clicked it, and it opened up an empty window (looked sort of like a mini inbox almost) in the page, that said something to the effect of "no messages."

I'm just curious if anyone can tell me what it is and-or why it popped up? (Unfortunately, I accidentally navigated away from it before I could nab a screenshot, and it no longer shows up now, so I can't show what I'm talking about.)

I saw the icon on a random page a few hours ago, but refreshed before I could click it. It's probably meant for staff and popped up because of some weird error.

is this how you post from npcs without logging in to their account?

A few years ago there was an IMing thing of sorts being tested, but it never got bast the beta testing (or whatever you'd call it).

Maybe thats what it could be?

A black circle with what looks like a white file drawer, or maybe a toolbox? Also saw this, but didn't dare to click on it.

It's very likely the old, old, old IM system that never worked. Idk why it pops up every so often for people.

I don't think this is the same as the IM system they were beta testing years ago. I remember that being a bar across the bottom of the window.

[edit] This is actually going to be the new ticket system which is like instant messaging with a staff member! I was chatting on it with Keith just a bit ago.

It's still being tested from what I can tell and was just taken offline, but it is pretty cool!

Thanks for the screenshot ! I would have taken one but it was gone by the time I got on my laptop. I was on my phone at the time (so it does work on iOS!)

[edit] oh it includes the browser in the footnote things on the messages, that's pretty nice too so people don't have to provide that info right away.

Oh, interesting! I don't file tickets often, but this seems like a useful change. Can't wait to see when it's out!
