Not generally, no. Buttermilk is usually too liquidy as a substitute for butter. UNLESS the butter is meant to be melted down, then maybe !
I sadly don't think making ingredients will be making its way on site (and even more so with buttermilk or vanilla because we "have those already" ... Still think we should be able to honestly :p)
Homemade vanilla and homemade buttermilk could be a new item! I don't know how vanilla prices are doing right now.
bird and bear and hare and fish give my love her fondest wish
Types of Salt that could be included: Kosher Salt Flaked Salt Sea Salt Himilayan Pink Black Sea Fleur De Sel Smoked Salt Truffle Salt Here's a store that has a wide variety of salts to look at: https://www.seasalt.com/gourmet-salt/specialty-salt.html
You could even incorporate different localities here, Vetan Spring Salt, Darkside Smoked Salt, Atebus Space Salt.
As for butters, compound butters are super hip right now, and you can always incorporate other animal's butters/fat types/formats: Cow/Yak/Goat/Sheep/Bovyne Unsalted/Highland/Whipped/Cultured Applicator Sticks/square sticks/pats/whorls
Further ideas: the movie Carol was based off of a novel called the Price of Salt, and the price of salt affected the Subetan economy with regards to recipes requiring it. Thus, I would like to suggest a recipe that require multiple kinds of salt and creates an "Oversalted " forum title. It could also give the forum title "_ Knows the Cost of Salt". While not terribly important, it would be a really neat thing for lesbians like me to notice and seek out.
the idea of using the bakery to make wears/books/anything that's not food makes 0 sense to me, tbh. I like the idea of having a pantry or something similar for ingredient storage, though. c:
Is it possible to have alerts added for Fantine's Bakery Cooking Quests, so we have a chance to remember to go check on our food before it burns?
The food doesn't burn because you don't go quick enough! It's just a random chance thing :)
Really hoping that we can have a box/pantry/table or a place at the bakery to store all the ingredients, it's hogging up inventory space and making quick stock for the shop a lot harder... :(
Yeah, a pantry would still be absolutely amazing.
In addition, some substitutes for baking powder maybe? :D I'm not sure how that would work tho, lol. not a baker irl
I love your can't cook idea... there has been many times that I keep burning the same thing over and over. Seems like now it is taking FOREVER to get to the next level of baking, although I have a huge shop stored with items for baking
Another suggestion - It'd be cool to have an option to permanently buy more oven space so you could bake more than one recipe at once.
Love this one - definitely support!
❄ [tot=iciness] ❄
So, I only started baking recently...lol...because it wasn't something that interested me at all.
However, I'm having a lot of fun with it now and the only thing that would make it better for me would be a way of setting an alert of some description (like you pay X amount to set an egg timer but the timers are only for a certain amount of time...eg 10 minute intervals so that you get a warning at 10 minutes but not necessarily exactly when your baked treat is ready? idk)
Hope it's ok that I tagged you! :)
I was looking to see if anyone's thought of a pantry before, and it seems that has, but I wanted to ask if it's been given any thought as a possibility?
I keep running into the problem (especially when crafting the recipes that only take 5-30 mins, with 5+ingredients..) of having a too-full inventory. I'm trying to complete quests while they're baking but I have to empty out the clutter fives times as often as usual.
Is there any way we could have an ingredients cupboard? maybe something attached to the vault system. a special "pantry" only for cooking supplies. It would maybe need a filter in the code that would amount to "Is this used in any fantine recipes? YES: add to pantry. NO: this item isn't an ingredient!"
Then, and I don't know if this code is super complex or not, fantine could just pull from your pantry instead of (or in addition to? or before?) your inventory.
Thanks for your time! <3 Happy holidays.
