I do think a cupboard sounds nice, because your inventory fills up so fast, one round of questing and it's full. It would be like the wardrobe for clothes or the ornaments storage section or the armory for weapons. I like it, also because it would declutter the vault!

- regarding the ingredient of vanilla extract for half the recipes - could this possibly be made into a genetech-creatable product somehow or have its restock amount increased or the amount put into the DC by Liz increased? Maybe even have the quest givers give it out more often? There's a huge shortage now and I don't think that's gonna go down over the next few weeks. I know you put the kit into the MC that has the vanilla extract but there has to be some other way for people to get it. That's one of the most impossible ingredients to get now, even through the DC.

any books suggested should come from achievements, not the actual baking. I'm pretty sure baking a book would burn it 100% of the time

Edible I can understand but a book that you have to bake in order to get? You're excluding a lot of savory food but not a book? I have a hard time trying to think about how you would bake a book.

We're excluding savory food because this is a bakery, dude. We might do a more general chef/cooking thing in the future (like we could have Pete all over that).

I get why you're excluding savory food, but by the same logic, bakeries don't bake books either! You could decorate some edible paper with edible ink and have the covers as some type of cake, but it would not hold up to being read.

Trying to shut me up with a mention of a weapon! I am not at all against adding books (you know this) Baking them just sounds weird! Maybe they could be awarded along with baking something else? Achievement sounds the most practical to me

ngl and I were like "even Kbbob will have to do baking" if we added a weapon at like level 100 with a book or two sprinkled in or something hahahaha.

We said level 75 for the weapon, 100 was a potion or something.

I'd bake anyway with achievements + cheaper prices (not going to pay 1m per cookie quite yet) weapon is a bit tricky because it most likely won't be better than anything I have, but if it is good enough, I'd put a lot of $$$ into this. best case scenario I see in a weapon is a new freezer or a somewhat decent bomb for once. or something new that's worth getting.

maybe if you successfully bake some things you have a chance of receiving one of the ingredients used back? like it'll say "It looks like you have some left over insert ingredient here."

Any chance we could get semi-sweet chocolate chips in the baking kit with greater frequency, or maybe some more in the donation center? I haven't gotten one in the last 5 or 6 baskets, and the prices have skyrocketed for the (very) few on the market. Since they're required for several recipes, it's really putting a damper on getting them all done.

It's mentioned in the first post, but I'm all for margarine/butter substitutes!! If only because I've been shrieking at my boyfriend about the price of these last couple of weeks, lol.

It's necessary for so many of the recipes, particularly the earlier ones, so while everything else seems to have dropped in price reasonably, butter is still scarce. More options in that regard would definitely be beneficial, and I'd be all over that proposed vegan achievement xD

Butter options ! Meant to do this before but kept forgetting. Butter and oil can generally be substitutes for one another in most cakes, just a general FYI, if you want to take that into consideration. Thanks for getting me the link. You already posted the butter substitutions I know about so it was all for nothing anyway.

Buttermilk can be subbed for applesauce (I have an amazing cake recipe that calls for applesauce and my husband is averse to apples so I was told I could use buttermilk instead) not sure if that means it can be subbed for butter but still a thought.

And if making ingredients ever comes to it - milk+lemon juice or vinegar=buttermilk
