Bartley stared at Aderyn for a few moments before her words actually registered. "That is very kind," he said. "I would be grateful. Bob?" The muscular man holding Bart nodded. "Aye, I could use a pair of hands, yes. If ye could get a Blood-Replenishing Potion that would be great. I think he'll need an extra one. And when he transforms back, hand me the potions I ask for. If he is stable enough, Bart plans on letting him talk for a few moments and then the draught of living death will be given before we take him off and heal the rest of him."

Aderyn nodded along as she listened carefully to what Bob () was saying. Once he'd finished, she slipped from the room, dashing off at top speed to the infirmary. She knew it would be a while still before Magnus transformed back, but she didn't want to risk missing anything too important. She reached the infirmary within moments and found the matron therein. After explaining things to the matron, who was already aware of the club's meeting and what was transpiring, she took a Blood Replenishing potion from the stores and held onto it tightly, streaking back out of the infirmary and toward the grand staircase.

Not wanting to waste time taking the steps, she vaulted over the banister and snapped her wings out, fluttering easily to the floor and short-cutting her way back to the room in which everyone was gathered. She came to stand near the Unspeakables again and set the potion down with the others, familiarizing herself with what was on the table so she could easily pass things along when they were needed.

Bartley was impressed with the speed Aderyn took in getting the extra potion. He did really appreciate it tremendously. He knew Bob couldn't let go of him and he couldn't trust himself anyway but if he had, he might have given her a hug. He was glad Bob also had a second pair of hands. Jim and Paul would likely be keeping the students back and all he wanted to do was hold his son and reassure him he'd be okay.

Paddy shivered as Magnus crashed into the cage bars with a nasty crack. It wasn't just that she was a bit chilly without her fur, even with wearing her warmest cloak, but that crack reminded her of something from her past that she'd rather have forgotten. "Broken rib," she muttered, "curse of the werewolf." Looking up she realised one of the Unspeakables had heard her and was looking curiously in her direction, "I recognised the sound of the rib," she explained, "the same thing happened to my Auntie when I was a young pup.... er I mean young child."

Shaking her head to clear those memories, she gasped as Bartelby tried to get into the cage. Looking around at the shock on her fellow students' faces, the Unspeakables suddenly moved into action. She had to admit that Magnus looked strange frozen in midair, almost like a bad illustration of a werewolf attack, but at least it would stop him from further injuries before dawn.

She'd always wondered what it was like to witness a werewolf transition as a human, but now she'd experienced it, she was strangely relieved to never have to witness that from this perspective again. It'd felt worse than actually transforming herself.

Bart was back to staring with baited breath. Paul looked at her curiously and then said, "Yeah, they are. Your aunt okay now?"

Paddy looked at Bartelby before whispering her response to Paul, "not really. There wasn't anyone around who could help when she transformed back. It's one reason why my Mother always Apparates to my Uncle's place at dawn after a full moon, to make sure we're safe."

Paul crossed the distance to her and have her a small hug. "If your mother can't one time, or wants some help, you let me know. I will personally come and make sure you are safe as well as your family members. If anyone can take care of a werewolf it would be me."

(( Ahaha, I'm now seeing poor Paul, surrounded by a pack of werewolves. cracks up))

Sam shrugged her cloak back on. She felt utterly useless to help and it irked. At least Aderyn was able to help with the potions. Sam grimaced to herself, she wouldn't be able to tell a blood replenishing potion from a pepper-up potion, or from a poison for that matter. She sure didn't inherit any of her mother's talent there. Nearby a girl she didn't know muttered "Broken rib, curse of the werewolf." The auror Paul, who had pointed out Magnus' p-js to reassure Sam, crossed over to her and gave her a hug, and Sam couldn't help but overhear his response to her. Werewolf? but the only other werewolf in school was... "PADDY??" Sam blurted out, staring wide eyed at the obviously furless girl.

Paddy was grateful, but surprised at Paul's reaction as most people wouldn't want the responsibility of being near three werewolves as they transformed back at dawn. "Thank you," she said, "that makes me feel happier, knowing someone else is able to help." There was something about the way he'd phrased that offer though, hinting at something. Looking at the scars on his neck and arms, she decided her curiosity would never forgive her if she didn't ask, "if you don't mind me asking, is that how you ended up with those scars," she asked, "taking care of a werewolf relation?"

She heard Sam's startled response and smiled despite everything, "it was Bartelby's idea," she explained, "Magnus wanted me to be able to participate, and there's no way two werewolves could be here, so Bartelby let me use this locket that turned me human for this full moon. Once the three days are up, the locket will disintegrate and I'll be back to my furry self again." ()

Paul had noticed the look of irritation on Sam's face. He felt bad, it was something he was used to--the uselessness. And being that he was beside both Sam and Paddy he said something he didn't expect to say. "No, the scars I got were from the werewolf I found when he was in human form. I would have thought you would have put those pieces together kids. I'm the auror that saved Magnus' life. Well, ex-auror now."

((lol Paul probly like that, he's an odd duck.))

If Sam's jaw wasn't firmly attached to her face, it would have hit the floor. "Woah" was all she could say for moment. She hugged the alpaca, who seemed to appreciate the attention, and took a deep breath to regain her composure. "That's some serious magic. s'gotta be a one time only thing." she said looking the the locket Paddy showed her. "He did that to you as a human!? Why aren't you an auror any more? I'm sorry, that's none of my business..... Yeah Sam, that's right... open mouth, insert foot, chew thoroughly... urgh."

"I wasn't too sure about using the locket" she admitted to Sam," but I didn't want to miss this opportunity." Paddy smiled again as Sam asked Paul the question Paddy was eager to know the answer to. She was pleased she didn't have to ask it herself, as she didn't think she could've asked any more tactfully than Sam did.

Bart gave the smallest smile at Sam's assertion of the locket. He liked that girl. "Just don't ask about it," he said quietly.

"Yes, he did. He raked his fingernails down me, well I guess you could call them claws. Put up a hellva struggle that's for sure. I'll tell you, thought I was going to have to kill him, but I finally got him all nice and secured. Why?" He blinked, "that's a rather personal question." Then because he really didn't know what else to say decided to answer anyway, "because some things can't be unseen. Besides, I got a better offer."

Katsumi overheard most of the exchange between Sam, Paddy, and Paul. She hadn't considered that the ex-Auror might have been the one that helped Magnus after the attack, but it did make sense. "Wounds inflicted by werewolves never heal well," she said softly. "I take it that you caught him on a different day than when Magnus was attacked, or he would still have been in wolf form." She'd been doing her best not to openly stare at the scars, so as not to be rude, but now she felt it might be okay to take a better look. "Aurors have to be really tough, don't they?"

Paul nodded. "Yes, I shot a few spells grabbed the boy and apperated right into Saint Mungos. Tracked him down about two days later. Followed him till he shifted back." He gave a smile. "They patched me up with some Ditny and silver. Magnus was still unconscious. I checked on him every so often without him knowing about it." He shrugged, "Every job has its risks. There was a guy at the ministry that got an awful paper cut once..." He laughed at his joke. "Seriously, it doesn't bother me." He knelt down. "Go ahead, you can touch them if you want. My scars were a small price to pay. A price, I'll add I would pay a thousand times over. The scars only changed my outside appearance, not who I am. Hell, met my wife after the injury and she didn't have a problem with them either. Nor do my kids."

The second year gave little indication of laughing at Paul's joke, just a faint flicker of amusement in her eyes showed that she found it funny at all. Even that swiftly vanished, as she regarded the scars on the man's face and arms. "You're sure?" she asked him, before reaching out a hesitant hand to run fingers along one of the many lines scoring his forearm. "He got you pretty good, didn't he? I don't think I would have been able to do something like that...." Katsumi sighed, dropping her hand. "I'd like to be brave like you, but I don't think I am. Besides, the world needs researchers like I'm going to be when I grow up, just as much as it needs people like you."

He nodded as she double checked before she touched him. "Yeah he did. Knew I was taking him to Azkaban, don't think he liked that idea." Paul stood back up and looked at the reserved girl and said, "There's all types of bravery, some of which are things we don't see as brave ourselves. The world needs witches and wizards different from each other. Our differences make us better, strengthens us as a whole."

His last comment actually got a slight smile out of Katsumi. "I agree," she responded earnestly, gray eyes intense. "But not just witches and wizards. I think we need Muggles too."

"I agree, Muggles are extremly important too. Many witches and wizards help make the muggle world better and conversly as do the muggles for us. We are all humans after all, magic or not."
