I guess it's sort of the same with the whole black vs red licorice. x-x Different tastes and such, I can't tolerate the black one where as some people can't do either.
But I agree with you on the "caving in" note!! It's very satisfying and it feels light and manageable instead of being a chore to work through a big solid chunk.
//screams because black licorice is the grossest thing on the planet
It is satisfying. I didn't want to say it in my post because I thought it would sound creepy, but I definitely agree.
Mmhhm! Something about the thin texture makes the chocolate so good. x-x
But black licorice... :/ Can make me gag. I could eat red licorice all day, but I have a friend who's the exact opposite! The taste of the black one is too strong for me, but he says the same about red. who knows...
Apparently though red licorice doesn't have a lot of licorice extract in it... XD So I guess it's that part that I dislike.
Even the smell of black licorice makes me gag, let alone the taste of it. There are times when I do end up trying it, but I feel the same about it as I feel about bananas: one bite is already one bite too many. Yuck.
Red licorice is good, and all of the different colored/flavored licorice you can get (strawberry, cherry, lemon, blue raspberry, etc.) but... I guess it's the extract that I don't like either. That weird, numbing taste from black licorice is just...
MMHMH man I feel the SAME about bananas! I can only stand candies of those or something, but the straight up fruit...mushy and stringy and a taste that doesn't work for me. :( My mom's the same way. We maybe have a banana...once a year? And even then it's in a smoothie or we force it.
All the flavoured licorice is good. Just anything except black I suppose. XD
