Ahh no worries, I hope you have luck with that?
I've managed to get a couple of big things out of the way (applications, problems with graduating, etc) so now...hopefully I can wind down and focus on school and the last couple of things I need to do for this semester. Phew...
Dad's home now so for the while, Mom will be mostly occupied with nagging him since he's been away for a couple of months. Which, hopefully, means I'll get to take a breather while her attention is diverted.
Good luck with the remainder of your semester!
@blackwolf_2009 That's the plan! Right now though, I'm having 0 luck with anything so at this point I'm ready to just throw my resume at McDonalds or something even just to get myself a bit of pocket money, if nothing else. I'm so tired of not having any money, oh my god.
Thank you, same for you! I hope you can relax and get your space. x-x
@blackwolf_2009 For real though, I got into an anime series about a month or so ago and the popularity of this series is soaring, so figurines and merchandise are coming out rapidly and I just... I want so many things and I have no money. ; _ ; They also released official hug pillows of the characters and I wanted one but there's an interesting story behind that one, oh boy... //sweats nervously
We'll see. So far, so good, but it's been all of like one day and I don't want to get my hopes up prematurely.
Understandable! I do hope it continues then, for however long he's visiting?
A month. That's how his work schedule goes; He's away for two months and then comes home for around 4 weeks. He goes back to Indonesia on Easter this year. O:
Speaking of Easter though, I went with Mom to pick out my Easter chocolate early before it's all picked over, and I saw this huge Reese peanut butter egg on the shelf in addition to my normal Lindt hollow bunny.
Now, I like Reese Peanut Butter Cups, and I like the small Reese eggs, so I figured hell yeah, sign me up for this shit. I was too impatient to wait, so Mom let me have it the night we brought it home.
So many regrets, rofl. It took me three days to get through it, and I don't want to see peanut butter for the next three years. //cries. Legit, it was like 98% peanut butter in a thin chocolate shell and I'm just... Oh my god.
Mom was like "I'll buy you a new one closer to Easter," and I literally yelled "NO." Never again.
Ahh, I see!
And for the egg, blah... x-x I'm not personally a fan of peanut butter but I can only imagine. Man it sounds like it really needed more chocolate.
Or Easter isn't until much later, but I do like those cadbury eggs that they sell.
I'm a really big candy person myself, more so than chocolate, but a couple of years back I brought this big bag of these flat candies that I loved....and it was so grueling going through that whole bag. I bought way too much, it turned me off of the flavour and I haven't bought any of that candy since. x-x Such a big mistake...I can barely eat them now.
I can handle peanut butter in small doses, but that was definitely TOO much peanut butter. Whoever thought that was a good product idea needs to be poked in the ribs and sat at their desk to think about what they've done. >:C Cadbury eggs are really good. I like the Mini Eggs too. And Marshmallow eggs. And Peeps. The list goes on.
@blackwolf_2009 Okay so, I was browsing AmiAmi to see the status of my Osomatsu-san figurines, and I came across the dakimakura cases I had seen teased on Tumblr. And I got excited because hell yeah, sign me up! But then... I looked at the Yen cost and was like... HOW MUCH!? According to XE's currency converter, they're $190 Canadian Dollars EACH. And I'm sitting here thinking… Why so much? Even my custom commissioned Art cases didn't cost that much and I had to get them drawn AND printed myself, whereas these are just pre-made, mass produced cases.
But then I read the description... And, I'll let the screenshot speak for itself.
Um wat
Ahh the mini eggs are so good! I love these weird little Easter treats. XD Sometimes I wish they could be around year round but...then i'd probably get sick of them. Nice to have these little holiday things though.
But for real on the peanut butter like I do not know of anyone that loves peanut butter that much that they could straight up eat it like that. Like white chocolate..it makes me sick in large quantities. x-x
That's true. They're nice to have while the holiday is here and sometimes you're left wanting more, but... I think that's why they're so enjoyable. If you had access to them every day you'd probably lose interest in them.
Ew though, white chocolate is gross.
@blackwolf_2009 Yeah... I knew that "undressable" pillows were becoming a thing because I'd seen a few of them on the site I use to order my custom cases, but I didn't think they'd actually pull that stunt for these characters. I'm pretty weirded out by it. It makes sense of why they'd be $190 in that case, because they're layered cases depicting the character in various stages between dressed and nude, but still... xD
Indeed! For white chocolate I think I used to be okay with it a while back but...never since. The only ones I can tolerate are very very small quantities or like those milk-and-cookie Hershey things whatever those ones are called!
@blackwolf_2009 It's funny because it's not even a series for kids; it's a Josei which means it's aimed at later teen to adult women, and the show itself has a lot of crude content that I, were I a parent, wouldn't necessarily let a kid watch. And that's a big problem with the fandom, as well, because there's a really bad divide between age groups and a lot of the older fans don't like that the fandom has kids and young teens in it. (Which I can kind of sympathize with, for reasons...)
But I mean, if a parent doesn't bother to read the description and still orders the case anyway, I say it's their own fault. xD I'm technically okay with the concept of "undressable cases" because eh, sometimes we like to see our favorite characters looking a little naughty, but these characters...
These are the characters. The cases have two sides, one side features that variant of each character, the other side features a more modern, albeit hella generic, anime style of drawing them. Actually, here: [Ichimatsu's proposed case design] so you can see what I'm talking about.
Despite each character being between the ages of 20-25, the art style makes a few of them look... Underage, to put it nicely, which makes the case designs REALLY weird. And the art style itself, especially on the one side... Really doesn't seem like the type of art that would look good with the character stripped down?
[s]Oh lord, in getting that screencap I just found out they're making "sleeping together" bedsheets of the characters too. The fandom is going to go nuts when July rolls around.[s]
…I'll just be sitting in the corner with my Osomatsu-san figurines that I pre-ordered, watching everything burn. //laughs
The only white chocolate I can actually tolerate is the Lindt white chocolate hollow bunny. Mom bought me one some years back by accident (we didn't know at the time that they came in flavors other than milk chocolate) and it was actually not bad. But most white chocolate I find just tastes like pure sugar with a bit of vanilla flavoring, and white chocolate supposedly isn't even "real" chocolate anyway so IDK.
Oh god, I can't eat the Hershey's Cookies n' Cream. Those make me ill. x_x
Ahhh, I feel like I could barely make it through one of those bunnies. On the upside it's hollow, cause i've have some solid ones and those are...way to difficult to muster. But it's weird cause I like vanilla flavour and (some type) of sugary but white chocolate for me doesn't taste like those two. x-x It's got this weird strong thickness to it.
When I was a small child I was a fiend for solid chocolate bunnies at Easter time. But I guess, as I got older, my tastes changed and the bunnies I used to love so much started to taste really gross to me, and now if it's a solid bunny I'm like "nope, too much." The Lindt bunnies are so much better in quality, and I love the feel of hollow chocolate caving in and breaking under my teeth.
…Most white chocolate is cheaply made, and as a result, tastes disgusting. One of my friends who abhors chocolate loves white chocolate, and to this day I still don't know how. Shit's nasty. :(
@blackwolf_2009 I dunno, I think the more "muppet" side has its charms too; that's the style used most commonly in the anime so I guess maybe I just got used to it? But it's somehow refreshing to see such differently styled characters in today's anime market. These characters were created in the 60s, originally, hence the weirder designs, and I like that they kept that for the 2016-2016 reboot of the series. xD
