So I was going to do the 'toss a bunch of Morostide items in the DC' thing ealier, but it seems a bit late now...So I'll do it tomorrow/later today, which means even MOAR THINGS! XD I'll ping again when Im going to do it soon so anyone who has a mind do can be there

Thanks Yes I hope there are no glitches this year either. Last year I put hundreds of scratch cards in the DC on Luminaire Eve, like I do every year, and then the DC went down and they all disappeared.

D: Taht sucks. I have a bunch of scratchcards in my vault for the same thing...Much sad if they disappear after I put them in there (and not from people taking them)

I collect scratch cards all year long on and off and have a bunch in my vault. Hoping it doesn't glitch again this year.

Windy today here, but not too cold. Stirred up some allergy sneezing.

Back indoors now, gluing Halloween Bingo cards and counters together. So much to do before the party!

For all it's meh, adulting gets us fun stuff on here. We can do this! (Currently temping 'til I can get actual perm job, so I feel you!)

Going through the application process now. I'm employed until November 15th, but we'll see how quickly I get something else lined up. Just applied to a perfectly located company that ticks all the boxes. Fingers crossed I get an interview! I really want to work for them at least while I get my masters since they offer tuition reimbursement. :)

Ouch! Sorry to hear about the allergies. The weird cold/warm weather we have going on are starting to mess with my nose too. I just hope I don't come down with a cold. I am just taking my niece ToTing, so I all I have to do is find a good neighborhood to go to. No one around here seems to be in the Halloween spirit.

Will keep the old fingers crossed for you. The tuition deal sounds great, so hopefully you will get that job or something like it. :)

I am waiting to hear back from one place; applications close 31st, so maybe better news after Halloween.

Yeah, there's not an awful lot of ToTing that goes on round here in general, sometimes families with kids arrange to go to each other's houses if they live local. It is getting more popular though.

It is getting less popular here. I think more people are getting into having parties or something. When I was a kid almost all of the houses would be decorated and handing out candy. Now we are lucky if 6 houses on the whole block are participating.

It's a shame as you would think it would be a community spirit thing, bringing folks together.
Makes it important for those who are left to keep going with the traditions!

I think part of it too was that growing up, the neighborhoods were safer. I think people are just generally more cautious now, and it's harder to get that whole neighborhood feel. It sucks, so hopefully we can get back to that feel eventually. The neighborhood I grew up in had a lot of retired people, so they were always super happy to have kids visit and would give out a lot. There was a little block with some wealthier people, but they were stingy with the candy so we made a point not to hit them up much. It's been almost ten years since I last went ToTing (... didn't realize it had been that long o_O) so things have probably changed a fair bit. I hope you can find a good neighborhood for your ToTing!

So sad when places feel not safe enough for traditions like ToT to grow and flourish. Being in a village which isn't that massive, I think there's still a bit more sense of community here. I feel lucky.
