Thank you so much for taking the time to go through everyone's concerns.
I didn't even look at the items before joining because "they'll all be in the MC anyway". THIS IS HOW I ROLL.
Most of my friends were on Team Mischief, except you and someone else who was on Team Nature.
Also, considering that Manwar and Nico nearly wrecked Epicon 2010 by being selfish little nerds, there was NO WAY I'd support them under the label "BFF"
I would have supported Team RAGING NERDS if they accepted their ANGRY NERDS label.
Thanks, previously it was left unstated if one team benefited or not. It's hard to know the impact when we only know rumors.
With that said though, letting it slide only leads to people less willing to report it in the future
*edited to make sense, posting from my phone sucks.
ANGRY NERDS ARE BEST NERDS BEST FRANDS FOR LIFE OVER BEING ANGRY NERDS KK QQ HARDER NEWBS LOL
Non-team events where we work for a common goal aren't necessarily less stressful. Do folk not remember the mini-plot where we all had to donate seedlings to make a garden in Centropolis? Or has the trauma from it caused us all to block it out, because that got UGLY. The reasons it got ugly were similar to what has apparently caused bad feeling this time - a glitch (although quite a different one: in that case, the items donated in the first bit of the competition accidently weren't counted) and people feeling staff response wasn't sufficient.
On the other hand, Subeta has obviously learnt and grown a lot since then, for example, that event also had a huge shitstorm over prizes, which was not an issue at all here due to great communication and clarity about prizes.
I personally enjoyed this event and am delighted to think we're so, so close to being able to have team events that don't end in wailing and gnashing of teeth. One day..!
[edit]
btw, reading that back I just want to clarify that the last line isn't a stab at any one. Personally, I approve of speaking up if you're pissed off - that's why staff have a feedback forum. I myself griped like a champ after Peka Boo cause it was bullshit, yo
🌂
YOU ARE THE ANGRIEST OF NERDS AND ILU
This event was clearly created for me to stop whining about turquoise pets.

EXCUSE YOU I AM BEST ANGRIEST NERD K GET IT RIGHT
and to torture you with mooooorrreeeee lifelike dolls
I ONLY HAVE THREE TO GO, TIME FOR SOME MORE.
[-Guru] the numbers i'm talking about come from the logs, which only count transactions that actually went through, so failed pageloads aren't relevant. :)
and, no, because it was talked about in a team thread amongst themselves. that is not ever the proper way to report a glitch.
Can I get something clarified? I wasn't online when Team Mischief discovered the glitch, but we knew that Team Sticky was smailing each other about a "secret" trick. Not trying to single them out since I'm sure users were abusing it across the board, but that's how the conversation had started on the Mischief chat thread.
One of the Mischief team members submitted a ticket, and it seemed like everyone who was active on the board at that time was waiting to see what the verdict was on the glitch before abusing it. Should everyone file a ticket in that case or is it better to have one person do so and then wait to see how the staff wants the situation handled? It didn't seem like anyone thought about starting a forum in P&B at that point because of the excitement of the event and probably brains not working too great at that point.
I know I've said this on other posts, but all in all, I think this event shows a real progression for Subeta and the staff's willingness to find what works best. Participation trophies to commemorate the event are clearly something the general user base would really like, as are prizes for some arbitrary amount of participation. I think looking at the scores from this event as well as past events gives a much clearer picture of what an average user score is.
And thanks for the responses in this thread to both and . Your clarification was really helpful :)
~ Alright, that makes sense. I shouldn't have pointed that comment in your direction, I do apologize for that. As it was Amber who had knowledge of it, then relayed the message to you after the fact. I get it now. Thank you for your response, and making me understand the situation better. I agree, if and when there is an issue, users should make it a point to say something about it whether it's on a Bug/Problem board or a filing a ticket. It's just the right thing to do ~ :D ~

1669 for nature?
I'm not going to say dead weight. Oops maybe.
For those curious for numbers on each team: 566 people had no team, 870 for Mischief, 623 for siblings, 566 for bffs, 1669 for nature, and 548 for stick together.
4842 total people signed up for the event. Not necessarily how many did anything, but that is how many in some way signed up. I have to say, I am pretty damn impressed by that! Now, if we can just find a way to channel the masses together rather than apart.
reposting a question I asked to in a comment
[edit] I got a reply. if anyone cares I can share it with them. I want someone to just admit that what happened should not happen again because it's wrong to play the grey areas.
Unless you deactivated your original account and then stayed dormant for more than a year, then you definitely shouldn't be broadcasting that you made a new account. That's against subeta rules. However, breaking the rules doesn't seem to matter much here lately.
I don't know why auto-refreshers were brought up, or why they continue to be brought up, since staff decided years ago what their stance was on ARs.
I'm still not content with the lack of action taken against folks who exploited this glitch. Frankly, I get the sense that the only reason it isn't being acted upon is because it was used by so many people that penalization would be time-consuming.
At least for future reference, we know that as long as we report a glitch, we can continue to exploit it with a clean conscience so long as some of our currency is consumed in the process. e__e
this is the last time i'm going to talk about this, but it seriously just baffles me how people just don't seem to understand that context matters. no team gained an advantage. no items were duped (because they were paid for). the items were all essentially immediately removed from the site. the people who did it literally got nothing out of it.
no one ever said abusing glitches in general is okay. we said that for this specific use case we weren't considering it an exploit. because CONTEXT. MATTERS.
