Awesome! She didn't have a great birthday. She ended up spending it in the hospital and getting a stint put in. She didn't have a heart attack though but there was 90% blockage. She went in the ER thursday afternoon after almost passing out and work and going to her regular doctor who ran an EKG. She came home today. She has to go back in 2 weeks for a stress test and depending on the results on that, she might have to get another stint put in. :/ And I still had to work too. Although I didn't find out about the stint until AFTER it happened. -_-

I hope that she is on the mend. It's hard when a parent is sick. Really hard. hugs

Mhmm. While she was gone, I also had to do everything for my grandfather. So right now I'm doing everything for both and the cats. Cats are happy she home though.

I know how that is. Happened with my mom back in April when she broke her shoulder. It was hard. Lot's of work. Hopefully no one ever has to do it for us someday!

Broken shoulder sucks! My grandmother broke hers like 15 or more years ago. It never properly healed back. I hope hers properly healed back?

Right now I'm trying to stay awake. We're waiting on the text she'll get saying her meds are ready for pick up at the walmart pharmacy. I'm kinda nodding off at the computer. But as soon as I change clothes and lay down, that's when I will be told to get ready because she got the text.

Oh my gosh! This is funny. She just came in here and told me she went back through the paperwork and she isn't getting any new meds. XD But she still wants to go out...and she still needs to go to walmart because there is still a prescription she has to pick from before she went to ER. So don't know when we are leaving. XD Still funny though. Because they said they were calling stuff in but they didn't actually give her anything.

It was actually the hospital. But at least they didn't do some major screw up time. Except they kept trying to give mom the wrong medicine because she wasn't taking it anymore but they still wanted to give it to her. At least she was able to refuse it.

ha!! just like a hospital! when i had to go, they were all freaking out because of my blood pressure, and couldnt get it down. i kept telling them "THESE THREE PILLS" but it took them 4 days, before they actually HEARD me. heh.

She has a good range of motion back. Not fully yet but little by little makes progress. She still can't bring it up to reach like a higher cupboard so she leaves most things that go in those on the counter and I put them away when I get home from work. She has been really good about doing her physical therapy exercises every day.

Sorry about all your troubles recently, they do seem to come in a lump dont they? my sister had to have a stent fitted a few months ago, she had pains in her chest and arms whilst going to the doctors up a hill and it was a blocked artery, Im only saying to let you know that shes doing wonderfully, and walks a lot and is fine now, I hope the same for your mum.

Yeah. It doesn't help that even when my mom pulled up her chart for UVA for everything, they still couldn't do anything right with her meds. And now she's signed up with the chart for Augusta Health. So hopefully her regular doctor who is affiliated with UVA can get stuff down correctly. But yeah...hospital personnel don't like to listen. And the ones that do listened aren't the ones licensed high enough to really do anything. :/

That's good she's working on it! :D And does her PT exercises everyday! :D My grandmother did that...but we think it wasn't set correctly. She can still reach everything and do everything, but you can see the bone move all around in the one she broke.

I'm glad to hear your sister is doing well now! :D Right now my mom is in pain. We went to Walmart to get a prescription for her and then did some grocery shopping. After she got back in my vehicle and sat for the 5 minutes it took to go get something from Chickfila, she couldn't hardly walk anymore. And we ended up not eating there because it was crazy busy out there. And when we were leaving, a bus showed up that was picking up all the kids (high schoolers I think but I guess could have been in college though but they didn't really look old enough) that were in there. So we ended up going to Hardee's which was about 10 minutes from there. She couldn't get back up into my car (I have a Toyota RAV4) and had to sit and slide in. But she's happy to be home, ate good food that wasn't the crappy hospital food, and sitting. :D And I think she is now finally going to drink water! I've been getting on her about that ever since blood work came back to her with stage 3 kidney disease. After being in the hospital and went through 2 IV bags, there's no sign of any of it and her kidneys are working the way they are supposed to when they tested her again. So YAY! Now she just needs to stay on the water bandwagon! And I probably just gave you way too much information. But I know if she has to change her diet, I will be fighting her on that because she won't want to do it.

I understand completely about drinking water, it has taken me years to get into the habit, i used to drink it like a fish when I was a kid which is weird lol, but its very important especially for your memory I never even knew you can have alzheimer type symptoms if your dehydrated. Its still early days for her, in a couple of months Im sure she will be much stronger, just keep helping her to do a bit each day, perhaps swimming? see if she can do any of the gentle movements on youtube? My sister started doing tai chi and enjoys that. Im not active at all and now Im paying for my laziness Im sorry to say.
Remember to look after yourself mainly! do happy things and take time to have treats of some sort.

That's good you drank water as a kid! I totally did not. Mostly drank Pepsi or Coke depending upon which was on sale and chocolate milk. I drink mostly water. Soda maybe once to twice a week. Depends on if going out to eat or not. At home or at work I tend to stick with water. And in a little over a month of doing this, I have lost weight. Don't know how much because I don't have a way to weigh myself. But I can tell in the way clothes fit. I actually need to buy new clothes. But that probably won't be doable until next month. Plus I don't want to buy new clothes all the time because I am losing weight. As long as belts hold pants up and tops not swallow me whole, I'm okay with waiting. :D My mom has done Qi gong in the past. Which I think tai chi involves more energy. She couldn't do qi gong after she had a double bypass surgery 5 years ago from a heart attack.
