I know the feeling. I have been downsizing our stuff like crazy. We have way to much stuff. My little house is so crowded. We have been reorganizing and decluttering. It is very satisfying. I just have one room left plus the garage and the girls rooms need to be gone through again. Time to get rid of some more toys. They have, way, way to many. I am scared to go through my books. lol I have like 5 large bins to go through. One day. lol

OOOooooo, You're SO GOOD! lol Serious. You're being smart. I'm a horder. heh. Of course, i never realized that till I had to move. then again. This is the longest I've ever been at a home. even my childhood, I think my family moved the first time, when i was 10, maybe? grin. way to long ago for me to remember.

But you doing a heavy duty "cleaning", is a smart thing to do. especially if you can do it every 5/7 years. (that way, the kids are old enough, they're "moving to the next growth step" and easier to get rid of things) heh. maybe I shouldn't say that? lol. my daughter (last year of college) still won't let me get rid of her "high school" stuff.

that wouldn't be so bad, EXCEPT that, it's mostly "note books" of notes from her classes. grin.

when she moves to where ever her first job is (could be from here, virginia, to Oregon), that FINALLY those things do not really matter.

ah well.

I have an almost 10 year old, who is all about the computer and the wii and minecraft. She is ok with getting rid of things for the most part. Now my youngest....oh no, she loves to keep EVERYTHING!! She is my little hoarder. It takes her a long time to get rid of crap. It is sometimes a battle with her, but for the most part, she is ok. I know when to pick my battles with her. lol

omg Karen! , You REALLY ARE FUCKIN SMART! lol sounds like you're doing a wonderful job of raising 2 girls!

heh. i had a boy and girl. the boy was mostly easy (meaning he never got caught, i'm sure) the girll though. ooh my. lol

But one of the biggest things I think I learned, was to "PICK YOUR BATTLE" grin, and it really paid off when she got to college.

of course. i knew lots of things the girl was doing, that i never said anything about. heh. i live in fantasyland.

lol

but really. by the time she got to college, she was looking at all the people getting drunk, dying their hair, going crazy, and she says to me "SO BORING! They're SO STUPID"

and really. the whole time she's been in college, she's been really focus. i'm so grateful. i have NO idea where she got her smarts, but I know that she was hounded her whole life by (parents) grandmother and aunts telling her "Knowledge is Power! GO TO COLLEGE"

grin. poor girl.

enjoy those girls now. even the hoarder. (but help her!! lol I speak from desperation)

I love how I've meant so many people here at subeta, that seem to really care about their children. it actually fills me with smiles. :)

they sure keep me on my toes these two. The oldest has medical issues, and a major speech impediment, but of course we don't hold her back or discourage her from trying new things. She just can't do contact sports, otherwise, no restrictions with her. Our little one is a smarty pants. We are so proud of her. She is actually representing her school in district finals for Science Olympics that the school district does. We have been busy practicing and all of that fun stuff. She really enjoys school and wants to just learn. Our oldest is redoing grade 3(I have been fighting since kindergarten to get her held back) and she is doing so well. She is getting A's and B's, when she was barely getting a C last year. She still has a long ways to go to catch up, but she is doing much better this year than last.

and I LOVE IT! My daughter is a chemistry major! grin. love how more and more girls are getting into science. :)

and that's wonderful that you don't hold back your eldest. that's the way to go. (heh. i meant you don't hold her back from doing things...NOT school)

make sure the younger pays LOTS of attention to math. grin. that's what is most difficult for my girl. but she admits that it's because she didn't pay attention when she was suppose to.

Happy almost Halloween everyone! :D Today I am really in the festive mood because I just went out and bought candy and bags of pirate's booty to give out to little trick-or-treaters. :D

Does anyone have any plans or anything for the weekend or for the actual day of Halloween?

waves Hi! No, plans over here. Probably stay in and hand out candy if any kids come to the door. We live in apartments, so we'll see what happens.

I normally don't dress up. Though I might try something with my dog. I saw someone had made spider legs for their dog and mine is all black, so it'd be awesome and probably freak people out haha

I saw a dog costume like that this morning and thought it was so clever! That would be a hilarious costume! If you end up doing it please do post up a picture of the pooch (if you are comfortable with that, no worries if you are not). ❤️

I'll post a picture, i like showing off my furkid :) I'm going to look around for an easy way to do that or if there is anything easier lol.

I think this day is when I miss being in the US the most... halloween is slowly catching on here but it's not the same, at all.... Very few trick or treaters, and the holiday is creepy/scary/gory only.

we have had a great halloween here, its getting bigger here in the uk, every year we throw a big party and also go trick or treating, this yr has been the biggest, and we dressed up, it was excellent specially as hubby had the night of too

How fun! We were supposed to have a party at a friend's place (they had a big house) but ended up having to move because the owners sold the place... so no party. Hopefully next year we can have one. ^_^ What did you dress up as?

we recently moved so the party ended up at my parents, I dressed up as a ghost pirate, hubby was a scary ware bear :), shannon was a vampiress and joshy was a ghostbuster, It was great

Same here, in Germany almost no one celebrates Halloween, no kids go around trick or treating :/ But if you want to dress up you can almost go to every club and they'll have some special party there (: I spent my evening at a frinds place who threw a birthday surprise party for her boyfriend who turned 21 (: I came home maybe half an hour ago and then got very pleasently surprised by getting the notification that I won something in the WAA contest, thanks again everyone -
