Hm. Every single time I have checked the book nook in the last few days it only has those same 3 bookmarks. I thought I might just have REALLY bad luck, but perhaps not. I hope this is being looked into. I know the library was just a WSQ, but this is a mite ridiculous.

Considering we're in a period when everyone is doing all their quests for tokens, some inflation is to be expected. Of course the Book Nook is going to be emptied now there's extra demand on books in addition to just about every book being worth something now.

Even so, the prices for most books still really aren't that bad. I just did my Library quests, and not only was I not asked for anything item worth over 50k (and even then, there was only one book that expensive; almost everything was about 30k or under), but in almost every case, the sp reward alone for each quest was more than the value of the books I'd turned in. If anything, Library quests are more profitable than I've ever known them.

I hope this is looked into because I've been wondering the same thing.

I gotta say, library quests keep getting more and more painful to do. :c I don't know why I'm still doing them at this point since I never make an sP profit anymore and rarely get items worth much. If it weren't for the chance of new years tokens...

I'm not a restocker nor a programmer, but if it is due to the shop being emptied/restocking every hour, is there any way to check for an autobuyer? Similar to the browser check for the DDoS attacks. It just stinks for everyone seeing books that used to be 5k up to 40k a pop. :c

While it could be an auto buyer program, this program isn't running all the time. I've been consistently restocking at the Book Nook for quite a while now as it is very profitable. The shop isn't sold out with the same 3 bookmarks all the time.

My suspicions is that it's just a lot of restockers who are buying out the shop, as pretty much every book is very profitable. Yes, there are a few user shops with unusually large hordes of books, but I think this points to a large group of people buying out the shop. The restockers who like to buy out the shop aren't online 24/7 and don't always buy out the shop, especially after large restocks.

Books are ridiculously good profit, so tons of restockers are probably snagging books.

They have been getting bad for a while. :c

The thing is this started well before the New Years holiday event. Edit: it's just being even more exacerbated by the holiday. /edit

But I'm glad it's being looked into now.

And I have no problem with books being more profitable or books cycling out faster. I'm of the opinion that part's not so bad.

Where both the prices are going well beyond reasonable "profit" and the books themselves are rapidly becoming extinct, lol.

As one of the restockers that are regularly buying books in the Book Nook I can say, yeah, we are buying out the shop. And why shouldn´t we? Every book is profitable. I make ~ 15 mill. sp with books only. Each day. There is no program doing the work for us just our fast fingers :-)

Funny thing is Alexander´s quests are still profitable, more profitable than a while ago, even with the prices at the moment. His payouts go sometimes into 100K territory depending on how much you had to spend on the books.

In my eyes the complaining isn´t very valid. You just have to restock too.

I will admit to restocking in the Book Nook while book prices are high. :x I tend not to buy out the shop, just books that I think are rare/sought after enough that the price will be justified (it seems there at least 3-4 people in the shop helping me any given time anyway!), but I agree that if the demand is there, why not?
