Beth began taking notes in her journal. "Do fairies get along well with other magical creatures? How do fairies communicate with each other and with other creatures? How big do they grow to be? Do they have any special forms of magic?" she asked Aderyn () and .
Aderyn smiled as she stood near , letting her friend give a basic description of fairies to the crowd gathered there. It was true that her half-kin were much different from herself, but she did share a few of their characteristics, including the wings she'd let out to show everyone.
As Beth () spoke, Aderyn considered the question.
"Faeries prefer seclusion away from other creatures and to keep with their own, but they have been known to associate with humans and other humanoid creatures, especially centaurs with whom they share their woodlands. They communicate with one another through intuitive telepathy and gestures, and have been known to speak to other species telepathically. Their sizes vary - many are miniscule, like the ones we've charmed here - while some grow to be two to four feet. They have some magic - none as versatile as what wizards can do, but they can cause plants to grow and cause items to hover for brief periods of time, things like that."
Emmy smiled as Aderyn stood to help present the lesson to the club, patting her back encouragingly as she walked off, excited to hear what her friend had to say. They hadn't talked much about her background and Emmy realized she didn't really know that much about fairies.

"Snakes have a bit of an excuse, the scales over their eyes go opaque when they start to shed, so the poor things are practically blind. Being that helpless and vulnerable'd make anyone grumpy.... Ooooh!" Sam interrupted herself as the fairy dust flew about the room sparkling and giggling. After listening attentively to she blurted out, in her usual blunt fashion "But how could a wizard and a fairy do...? y'know.... I mean how's a half breed possible?"
"I can definitely see how that'd make them grouchy!" () Paddy was about to reply to Fade () but got distracted by the fairy dust, and eagerly started jotting down notes as was talking. She almost dropped her quill at Sam's question - she'd been wondering the same thing, but thought it was best not to ask something like that.
()

Millie watched eagerly and quickly jotted notes down in her journal. She thought she knew quite a bit about fairies but she quickly realized she didn't. She giggled at Sam's question but felt relieved it was asked because she had wondered the same thing.
((ooc: you pinged me but no idea how to reply as Magnus isn't in this reply lol ))

Gaia was listening to Aderyn give insight to the fairies and then laugh at Sam's question. "Don't be afraid to ask your questions everyone! This is something I actually wanted to know myself. Most of the time half-breeds happen in an unusual way. There might be wizards and witches today that have had creature like ancestors. A witch can find herself with fairy-like attributes and not know that 100 plus years ago someone in her family was in fact a fairy. It is also easy to skip generations. That said Aderyn pointed out not all fairies are small in size. Some of the 2 - 4 feet fairies have been known to become part of the magic community. They also fall in love and others have..." Gaia giggled a little "done it to make their specie stronger, faster, smarter, etc."
Before Aderyn responded Gaia added "Fairies prefer the wild, gardens, and forests. They are great with plants and caring for them. Fairies will have their communities and families in these type of places with a constant weather all year. They do travel when need to, but unlike witches and wizards they don't have homes or structured lives. Fairies have jobs and responsibilities but without powerful magic they are limited to what they can do in the magical world."
"Wow. A 4 foot fairy. That must be a crazy sight." Millie said as she took notes
"There is a lot of tension between half-fae and many fairy communities. There are some fairies that believe the mixing of blood can help to strengthen the community, but many have antiquated beliefs not unlike those of some pureblood families - that mixing should not occur. I myself am not widely accepted by the high council in the fairy community, but because my grandmother is is well-respected, most fae folk are alright with having me around. As for education, it is passed down through the generations by oral tradition - knowledge is spoken, not written, and formal schools do not exist. Many fae work in the way of their parents and grandparents before them, being trained from young ages."
((ooc: seriously have no idea what Magnus is thinking or what to reply here. o.0))

"Because of the difference in intelligence among the fairy community and the half-fae schools have not been created for young fairies. It is difficult to learn their ways and then translate that knowledge into a class set-up. Most half-breeds are more accepted by the wizarding community than their other half. My guess is that it is difficult to trust those who are stronger with or without magic, not to mention the years of traditions that get broken with such events." Gaia paused and looked at Aderyn "Personally I think they are missing out on amazing people!" Gaia gave Aderyn's hand a gentle squeeze.
Aderyn smiled at Gaia and nodded.
"There is a movement among half-fae to try to bridge the gap between our cultures, but the fairies are resistant. Having witnessed the muggle world as much as our own wizarding world, they fear colonization and a loss of their culture and traditions if we were to integrate our societies."
() "Not to mention the constant need to take their wings or use them for decoration." Gaia shook her head they are beautiful creatures but earlier they used an enchantment to recreate their beauty without harming them.
Aderyn nodded sadly.
"Yes, unfortunately there are many witches and wizards out there who are without care for the welfare of other creatures, especially fairies. Fae folk have been exploited for centuries and are not very trusting. Hopefully over time we can rebuild that trust!"

"That's cool. Do fairies like to play sports? What kind of sports do they play? What do they do for fun?" Beth asked Aderyn () and .
Wow! How pretty, Beth thought to herself as the enchanted fairies danced around her. "Fairies are interesting creatures, don't you think?" Beth asked Magnus.
Aderyn shook her head at Beth's question.
"Fairies don't play sports, though they do often race around, seeing who can fly faster. They're fun-loving creatures, but without a greater intellect and an overall lack of organization, things like sports fall by the wayside."
