Mimsy smiled and petted Magnus' shoulder like he was a dog. "You is needing to sleep Master. Let Mimsy takes you to hospital wing. Mimsy will takes care of you." She spoke so quiet that Paddy and Magnus barely heard her. "You is nots being allowed together. They is thinking it not safe."
Magnus kept his head down. Mimsy had delivered the note to him and told him of the arrangements made. She told him even with the potion, that it had been decided Magnus needed to be contained elsewhere. He didn't know what plans were in place for Paddy and he hadn't asked. The elf was right but that only seemed to ire him. "Damn it, would you shut up!" he yelled to the elf who immediately closed her mouth.
Paddy hadn't heard of any arrangements for her first full moon here, other than reporting to the hospital wing before dark. She guessed there would be Wolfsbane potion ready and waiting, but other than that, it was all going to be a mystery until she got there.
Hang on, did the house elf say "they" said her and Magnus should be kept apart? That was going to be challenging, especially if Magnus had to head to the hospital wing as well, but it was also crazy - she had never been a lone werewolf on a full moon, and didn't know how she would react to not having a pack there, even if the pack consisted of one other werewolf.
"Have you been told where you're meant to head tonight," she asked, "all I've been told is I have to go to the hospital wing, but nobody's told me anything else."

"I'm go to the hospital wing to get my potion right after dinner, then I'm being taken to the dungeons, where they've padded a cell for me. My parents sent Mimsy to sit in with me as she's done at home. I'm too new, too violent and unpredictable. Apparently, I can't even react to the potion like a proper werewolf."
"I've not used Wolfsbane much; Uncle brewed his own version of it, but the teachers didn't think it was safe for me to use his potion here, as it's not been officially accepted by the Ministry of Magic. This will be the first full moon away from home though, so I haven't got a clue how I'll react."
Paddy was wondering if any of the other students had noticed them sitting apart from the group, and resolved to look at one pet at least before the pull of the moon was too great.

"Hope it is okay for you. I have no experience with anything but Wolfsbane. Mimsy can also knock me out if she needs too. house elves have powerful magic." His elf was still petting his arm, trying to soothe him. He looked over at all the pets and wanted so badly to join.
"Normally I'd be running through the forest with another werewolf, so I have a feeling this will be a challenging moon. You're lucky that you have Mimsy to help, but how does Kippers react to you when it's that close to the moon?" She noticed he was looking over at the pets, clearly wishing he could join in. "Is there a pet you think would be safe, or safest, for Magnus to see today, Mimsy? After all, you know him a lot better than I do."

"Sorry," was all he could think of to say. Mimsy looked at but said nothing. "Kippers is fine with it. She sometimes jumps on my back or bites me to try to help me think clearly. But I don't like having her locked in with me so I kinda stopped that. And she can't talk. I ordered her quiet. She won't speak till I release her or my parent's order overrides it. Their standing order is if I'm dangerous then she is released from my orders and must do what is needed to keep me and others safe."
Paddy clearly had a lot to learn about house elves. "Mouse does much the same," she said, "when we were in the forest, she'd fly alongside, but she would always nip my ear if she felt I needed to be more controlled. Didn't always work," she added with a glint in her eye. She looked over at the pets for a few moments, trying to work out which ones she felt safest with. "How about we meet Rowan's pet, or if you don't feel comfortable with that, what about Fade's cat, seeing as you're more used to cats than dogs? Gaia will be able to keep them safe, and Rowan knows the secret anyway." Paddy glanced at Mimsy, wondering if she'd make some silent reaction to that suggestion. The house elf seemed to help Magnus, but Paddy just couldn't figure her out.

Magnus got up and nodded. He wanted to try so he wandered over to ( ) Rowan and her dog Drifter. He hung back though, not reaching his hand out to pet the pooch. Mimsy was petting Magnus' leg now but he didn't stop her. In fact he was all together ignoring the elf. Maybe he could still salvage the time he had left? He watched and waited to see what she did.
Paddy stood near Rowan () and Drifter. "Drifter looks even sweeter than you described him, Rowan" she stood near the dog, but remembering Gaia's instructions, she kept her hands in her pockets, so she wasn't tempted to try stroking him. Drifter let out a short low growl, and Paddy growled back without thinking. Maybe that house elf was right, she thought, looking round to see if anyone had heard her growl.

Ethel was a smidgen late to the club meeting, which was 100% Wade's fault. The little bugger had been curled up under a pile of throw pillows and had been impossible to find! After a mad tear around her room, she'd finally found the culprit and, after sliding him into a charmed bag to keep him warm and safe, she was finally arrived just in time to hear Gaia's orders.
"Go team snake!" Ethel held up a hand to for a high five with a grin.

Sam slapped Ethel's palm enthusiastically, and looked curiously at the bag she was carrying. Chua coiled tightly around her neck, his black and white scales looking like a fancy beaded choker, as he closely watched the box of live rats and mice that Sam was setting on their table. "I didn't know how big your snake was, so I brought a variety of feeders. I hope he dosen't prefer chicken, the house elves would only give me one that as already prepped for cooking..., no innards or anything."
Quickly Sam pulled out her wand and gave it a complicated little wave so that hot air streamed out of the tip. She then pointed this at the table and a sphere of warm air began to form around it.
"Here we go" she said, grabbing a couple of sturdy branches for the snakes to coil on.
"Ooh you brought snacks!" She said to with a grin, then set Wade down on the table. "That was so polite of you, Sam."
After a moment the heated bag Wade was in rustled and the orange and red tip of his nose peeked out of the opening. "I fed Wade a few days ago so he's ok. I don't think he'd even know what to do with a live mouse anyway!" Wade seemed disinclined to explore the table, but Ethel was more than curious enough for the both of them.
"This is quite the set up. I brought a few hides for Wade. Chua doesn't look too much bigger than him." As she spoke she rummaged in her backpack and pulled out a few clay bowls sculpted to look like little caves. She set them down on the table with a satisfied nod. "There we go. It's shaping up pretty good, don't you think?"

Rowan tries to hold in Drifter's excitement as she looks around in dismay, realizing that he us the only dog.
"But he IS magical!" she mutters under her breath.
Beside her, Drifter continued to wag and wiggle, ready to make friends. Oh good, here's Paddy and Magnus, and maybe they'll see Cheshire, too. As Paddy approaches, Drifter starts to wag and then notices the abundance of cats and lets out a growl.
Paddy growls back. Drifter sits down and quietly regards her, his head cocked to one side. Clearly, both she and Magnus smell good to him, like canines should, so much so he wants to growl off the cats.
Yikes! This situation could get tricksy fast!
Samantha cooed in appreciation as the beautifully colored snake began to emerge. "Is he a corn snake?" she asked Ethel "Oh good, you brought hides, I didn't think of that. I think some dry leaf litter and a bowl of water will make this perfect." She hissed a friendly greeting to Wade and admonished Chua to be nice before setting him on one of the branches.
Paddy's growl had been low, but Magnus' was not. He growled loudly after Paddy growled. He stared at Drifter. He smiled when the dog calmed down, but it was a smug, beastly smile. "That's right," he said, "I'm dominate."
Paddy hadn't expected Magnus to growl quite so loudly, but Drifter seemed to calm down pretty quickly. Paddy had always been a lower ranking werewolf, never wanting to be the dominant one in a pack, but as she looked at Drifter, she could feel the eyes of the other students staring at her. Just how much of those growls had they heard?

After trotting down the hill, Fade stooped to catch his breath amidst the tables. A grey streak could be spotted trailing the boy, and was quickly discovered to be a sleek spotted cat. Catching up it effortlessly vaulted onto Fade’s shoulders. “Sorry we’re late.” As per usual he was running behind.
Fade grinned at Magnus, glad to see him in attendance with Kippers, and plopped the bag of catnip he brought onto the table designated for cats. “Do wizards use catnip? Chase loves it, thought I would share.” Chase impatiently swatted at Fade’s hand, but realizing there were other animals in proximity, was wary to leave Fade’s shoulder. “Oh and this is Chase, by the way.” Reaching, Fade scratched his pet under the chin and was rewarded with a low rumble of purrs.
Curiously, Fade peered into the basket that was on the table, not sure what he was expecting, but was happy to discover a small cat face peering back at him. A popping sound on the other side of the table however caused both Fade and Chase to jump slightly. Leaning over the get a better look, Fade’s eyes widened at the sight of a girl sitting in the grass. His hair color brightened subtly giving away his enthusiasm. “That’s a pretty cool talent.” If that was the appropriate term he wasn’t quite sure. If you became a cat, did that mean you could speak cat? Was there such a thing as being fluent?
Chase meanwhile slunk from Fade’s shoulder onto the table, and cautiously sniffed around the outside of the basket. He could smell a few other cats, but wasn’t so sure exactly where they were.
Looking over his shoulder Fade waved toward where Magnus, Paddy, and Rowan were gathered with who Fade could only assume was Rowan’s cute little dog.

Paddy looked round and spotted Fade waving. At least the happy look on his face meant he wasn't likely to have heard the growls, so she smiled back and headed over to see Chase. Maybe she'd get on better meeting a cat rather than another canine. "Hi Fade, Chase looks so cute" she still had her hands plunged into her pockets, which must have looked odd, but she wanted to try and meet some of the other pets.

They shifted towards Fade just after Magnus' growl. If he was more himself he would have worried that Fade would discover his secret but today that was out the window. What ever possessed him, he didn't know but he was suddenly sniffing Fade with intense interest. Not only was there cat scent and catnip on him, but something different. He smelt good. Then Magnus licked Fade's face. He circled the boy a few times awhile his house elf clung to his leg. "You smell so good. Like pack but different. What are you?"
