Rowan smiled happily at the new boy who had joined them. He seemed very friendly, and she was feeling more and more at home with Magnus and Paddy. She could still not fathom what was wrong with being a werewolf in a magical world, but secrets are secrets, so she would say nothing.

"Next time I'm going to bring Drifter along," she said aloud.

() Paddy wasn't too sure about the giant squid being friendly, but she didn't want to let on, so she tried to look as confident as possible.

"Chase sounds like a great pet," she said to Fade (), "I bet he's having fun running around the grounds." Paddy wanted to ask to meet Chase, but was a bit wary of how he might react to her, so she resisted the temptation to ask.

"Mouse sounds brilliant Magnus (), especially as he's so outgoing, well outgoing for an owl anyway." She grinned at the thought of her owl finally getting a name. "I'd definitely like to meet Drifter, Rowan" () she added, "as long as you think he'd get on ok with me."

"I'll give Drifter a chance," he said albeit with a slightly dubious lilt in his voice. In his mind it was better to expect the dog and him wouldn't get on rather than be disappointed. "Like then name do you?" He beamed. Maybe he wasn't great at naming pets but he was happy to help.

Having heard Gaia's question about creatures in the water, Aderyn glanced over her shoulder at the black lake and considered the creatures she knew to be living in it. There was one creature she knew was there but that she'd never seen in person, and she turned back to face Gaia.

"How about the flying seahorses?" She asked. "I know provoking one to fly would be unkind, but is there any other way we could see one?"

Fade suddenly had an idea. “What do you guys think? Maybe next time we should all bring a pet to introduce.” Nodding at Magnus, ((@/Raven)) he smiled. “I’m sure he would, the only thing you need to make Chase like you is a handful of food.”

After ’s re-mentioning of the unicorn subject, Fade nodded and chewed the inside of his lip. But before he had time to formulate a nonchalant enough response, another student (()) who he recognized from their house common room, mentioned flying seahorses. Fade hadn’t ever heard of them and was suddenly very curious to learn what one looked like.

It would be great to have some on hand. Maybe even recreate a habitat for them for when we are inside the castle! I think it would be a great idea to keep track of their behavior and also help other students with potions!" Gaia scribbled more notes. She had her hands full now. The students are excited and ready to try their hand at new creatures.

(@/cheshire) Gaia overheard the conversation between (@/paddy @/raven @/greenrowan) Magnus, Rowan, Raven, and Fade. "You make a great point Fade! It would be fun to use next week's session for personal pets and getting them acquainted to other pets around the castle."

TO ALL COMC Members: Gaia cleared her throat... waiting for the attention of all students present. "How about for next week's session we bring our very own pets for a Get to Know time with other's pets. I will provide the snacks for your pets and also we will have a fun giveaway! It seems it would be fun to have a game of trivia maybe? Yes, I think that would be fun! Also while I have your attention remind your friends sing-ups for the club are still going. Every student is welcome, but only members of the club can be part of the giveaway!"

Magnus smiled. This club was going to be a lot of fun, he was sure of it. "Meeting other people's pets would be lots of fun."

Gaia realized she made an announcement after being nosey on other students. "I'm sorry Fade! Magnus I agree with you. I think it would also give us all a chance to get used to being around other creatures besides our own. I figured Fade's idea would be great for a creature session for all of us."

"Getting to know everyone's pets sounds great!" Aderyn said excitedly. "I'd love to introduce Hygieia - my owl."

She grinned brightly, already excited for the next week's club meeting. Looking over at her best friend, she nudged Emmy ().

"You could show everyone your cat form then!" She encouraged.

Hearing Aderyn be excited gave Gaia good vibes about her announcement. "Then beginning Monday next week is all about our lovable pets!"

Emmy smiled as announced what their next meeting would be about. She had two pets, her little scops owl, and a beautiful fluffy calico kitty. She couldn't wait to show them off! She grinned at Gaia, already planning what she might say about her pets.

She looked over at Aderyn as the girl nudged her, and blushed at her words. "Yeah, maybe," she said, torn between embarrassment and an excited desire to show off what she could do. "I mean, if people want me to..." She grinned at Aderyn now, nudging her friend back.

Aderyn grasped Emmy's arm () and tugged on it excitedly.

"C'mon, not much that's more magical creature than a girl by day, fluffy forest cat by night!" she said with a smile. "People will love you! Besides, you might have to entice Boo out of hiding, that little 'fraidy cat of mine..."

She had a mingled happy and exasperated expression on her face as she thought of her cat. She loved the little bugger, but he was impossible to bring out of hiding, owing to the fact that he was afraid of nearly everything. On a good day, he could be found sleeping at the foot of her bed, and on a bad day she couldn't even begin to piece together where he might sneak off to hide.

Sam listened quietly as the students chatted eagerly around her. Then Beth mentioned she had a baby griffin. "Ooh, I've gotten real good at Incendio charms to keep my pet snake warm if you you want to bring your griffin out." she volunteered eagerly. To she added "My owl Umbra needed some exercise so she flew out with me. She's that great gray in the tree there. She really looks huge, but it's all feathers."

"That's a brilliant idea, I'd love to meet everyone's pets." While she didn't say all of what she was thinking out loud, she much preferred the idea of meeting people's pets in a (slightly more) controlled environment, especially as Gaia sounded so confident at handling any creature introductions for her and Magnus.

Ethel nodded enthusiastically in agreement with the rest of the club members. "I'd love to meet everyone's pets too!" Meeting Magical Creatures was the whole point of the club after all. What would be more appropriate than meeting creatures that were already comfortable around people.

In the midst of the chatter, she heard mention that she had a pet snake. "Oh, you have a snake too? They make brilliant pets, don't they? What's yours called?"

His name is Chua. He's a black and white king snake. He complained bitterly when I told him he had to stay in the common room today.

"He sounds gorgeous!" Ethel gushed (always a sucker for snake talk). "You're lucky to be able to chat with Chua. I feel like my life would be so much easier if I could talk with Wade."

Gwen runs down to join the growing crowd. She finds and asks "is it too late to join you?"

"Of course not! The more the merrier!" Gaia shouted over the growing chatter over next week's session. "Please ask around for the parchment and write down your name, creatures you are interested in, and if you are interested in being part of the Hoot club as well!" Smiling she turned to look at the group and realize she needed to make some clarifications so the pet owners would not worry.

Gaia called attention to herself "Hello! ... HELLO!" she had to laugh because even though she was being ignored she was happy to see everyone already working together. "If you please, I will only take a minute away from your conversations. I overheard about the weather and how it might affect your pet. If there is any specification your pet might need let me know. We can work together in preparing special areas for pets that are alike. For example; Ethel's Wade and Sam's Chua can be in the same area. Could you arrange that Sam? See if that would be comfortable for them? That way you and Ethel can work in the habitat in the morning before our session late afternoon. You can all work together if you prefer or I can help you with your pets and making them comfortable. I think it would be great if they got some fresh hair this week before it gets difficult to be outside in the winter."

Noticing her owl Gaia called out to Sam, the brown owl next to Umbra would be Unicorn my brown owl, I am pretty sure he is a flirt or at least he enjoys the company of other owls." Gaia looked in their direction and noticed her own doing a flying flip by the trunk and shook her head "See? He is harmless though. Your girl seems to be able to handle herself." Giggling once she notice Umbra scooted away from Unicorn.
