I just want to say you kind of contradicted yourself there. You said that people would stop zapping after they got the skin they want (which I would for collection purposes, I would just make sure I got the one(s) I wanted and then have no problem zapping to complete my collection), but then you also said people would keep zapping, or at least you would keep zapping after having the necessary amount to exchange for a skin. Either people only zap for the sake of skins they want or they zap for fun, but either way both options are available with either of our suggestions, so I don't think that's a point. Maybe? I confused myself at that last part.
And as mentioned after your post, Wizard Tokens are EXTREMELY easy to earn. I mean, if Morostide is two weeks. Even if you were just to do your Wizard quests during Morostide alone you would be able to earn 3.5k Wizard Tokens. Because of that I feel like a 3k Token price tag wouldn't be so horrible. I'm sorry, but for an annual purchase that's not a lot of tokens in the scheme of things. And because of the amount, any price around 3k wouldn't alienate any users, new or old, as long as they actively play the site.

I was going to weigh in by saying "I don't think this is a particularly good idea because the whole point of the zapper is the random aspect of it, suck it up and just keep trying" but I actually like Keith's alternate idea/solution.
Yeah, it would be expensive, tokenwise. It also isn't required. It shouldn't be easy to get exactly what we want all the time, and I think it's reasonable to expect a high price to circumvent the randomness of the regular zaps. I think it's a pretty generous alternative.
Edit: Also a fantastic token sink, which is also a stated site goal. :)
We don't poll features like this. We get general feedback from the forums, but we also have access to a lot more data than regular users (the number of wizard tokens on the site, the number that goes out per day, the number that goes out per day when we release new items to the token shop, etc) and are generally just more informed. We read the feedback and that is part of our decision making process :).

ah okay :) i thought that you could use the polls in that way XD I guess not LOL

I think I just didnt word it right or you didnt understand haha. What I was saying was that If there were a pay option for skins I would not continue to zap.
If there were a trade in I would zap the whole time.
Hopefully that clears it up xD
Well if the feature is added at the start of the event next year I get that. But if it were introduced now after moros where many spent upwards of 3k, then having to pay that again for a single skin is what would bug me. So Im not sayin the tokens are that hard to get, just that now being uber broke as most of us are, It would be kind of meh xD
I agree with that, But I guess not everyone does haha. Most seem to prefer the idea of currency, which sucks, but I guess its better than nothing.
I agree most would just do the five and done, but if it were a single thing at the end of moros, after all the zapping, I feel less would? And I mean it could be more than five. But I guess at this point more people seem in to the currency idea xD I just hope it goes in at the start of moros and not the end. If I already spent 3k tokens, itd be lame to have to spend that much or more for one skins weeks past it.
I think it would be great to open up the zapper for a short 48 hour period to spend a gazillion tokens to get the single skin you didn't manage to zap during morostide.
However, I would very much appreciate knowing the cost and to have time to actually earn the tokens before that happens. That way people can't complain about jacking token prices, because they will have the opportunity to earn the tokens themselves, if they are diligent. Many people will still be too lazy to do quests, but then they can pay for the thousands of tokens already onsite and know it was their choice.
Everyone is happy, those who quested, those selling tokens, those buying them, and the people who will finally get the skin they kept missing throughout morostide!

I doubt it - especially if they knew it was an option. They'd collect 5 and just be fine with waiting to get the one they wanted (or collect 10 to get two sort of thing). The payment option provides more of a realistic way to get the skin through the current zapping procedure. As Keith and other users stated tokens are pretty easy to get & the price of them won't be so drastic that it'd be unfair to new users. Plus buying the zap is basically like not getting/trading in skins you don't want - since your tokens will be going to that single one instead (just no skins will be removed in the process). Also, I think it's kind of the whole point to decide whether or not you want to spend a lot of your tokens on a single one or randomly zap in hopes you can achieve the one you want.
I also just want to mention that a big reason why trading in probably wouldn't fly is because these are supposed to be 'skins', not items that you could trade back in. I think of it as we're able to swap around our skins now because we've been genetically modified in appearance to be able to do so. I'm not sure how you could use 'subeta realism' to say why you could now trade in singular appearance modification genes. Just my thoughts on the matter. :3

I kinda wished we had a "pay extra sp+wiz tokens to get a skin you don't have" option, like we have the "pay 400k for guaranteed experiment" for the pet zapper. I want all the skins, tbh, but for god's sake, if I see one more fucking eyebawls, I will rip my own out.
Anyway... Yea, extra monies for any random skin we don't have, because I'm still missing like 20 so I'm about it...?????
Well, I'm not to keen on the idea of tokens for the zap, but as long as I know ahead of time (ya know, a 'warning' of sorts) so I can earn the tokens, I guess it'd be alright.

Agreed. I had pretty much the same reaction when initially reviewing this thread (I tend to be a fan of making various collections hard to complete to keep things interesting), but after reading Keith's suggestion I have to admit that I like the idea of adding a very expensive token option to the Zapper next year (at the same time I really don't like the idea of turning in multiple skins in exchange for a specific one though). I do wonder if it would take away from people using the Zapper (and getting rid of excess token inventories) during Morostide if they aren't interested in collecting the full set of skins, but if the ability to use the specific skin zap option is either very expensive, has limitations put in place, or both then this seems like it wouldn't be an issue. As long as wizard tokens are getting used up at least at the same pace they do with the current system then there doesn't really seem to be a downside to this idea.
