Oh crap! How depressing! I'm sorry you have to go through that! :-(
It was fine, I just did a few things on it, nothing much. It's okay, I can handle it :p
I know you can! Although, the mama bear in me does come out a bit... :-)
Sometimes I just have to stop replying because there's nothing I can say to make them understand the point I'm making.
You're so mature!! Here's one of my newer mottos: "You can't argue with stupid!" But I've only recently figured that out! :-P
you can argue with stupid, but it's a waste of time :p
No you can't! ;-)
Just kidding! Yes you're right! As always!! :-)
I made french onion burgers tonight, they were really good.
OMG! French onions are my weakness! I bought some for Thanksgiving green bean casserole, and barely got any on the casserole!! We had cheeseburgers last night. French onions on a burger sounds so good!
Going off! ttyl! :-P
not those kind of french onions (I think those are french fried onions) french onion as in the soup :p
ttyl, good night!
Okay I'll bite, how do you make French Onion burgers?
saute half a sweet onion, after they're cooked pretty well put maybe 3/4 of a can of beef broth in there and cook that awhile reducing the broth cook your burgers (1 lb, 4 patties, salt+black pepper on both sides), once they're almost done, deglaze the pan in some beef broth, flip, deglaze again. put some fontina cheese on top, put a lid on and melt the cheese. then I just got regular buns, some mayo on bottom because mayo is great, patty down, a scoop of the onions in the broth (not much broth left at this point, it cooks down) right on top. I think gruyere cheese works too. I didn't follow a recipe or anything, just kinda went by my own recipe in my head. they turned out really well.
Mmm, that does sound pretty delicious! I was thinking you were going to suggest the old 'half a pack of dried mix in the mince', but yours sounds so much better.
I didn't even think about doing that haha. they were very good. the only thing is that cheese is kinda expensive. I didn't use all of it though, so I can make them again soon maybe!
Hrrm, thinking of ways to beef up that onion flavor and add a bit more texture...would probably do some crispy fried onions and toss that atop the mayo before nestling the burger on that. But, that might be a bit of overkill.
you could probably do french fried onions or onion straws or something like that. I thought they were pretty good the way they were though. could chop up some onions and mix them in with the beef so they're incorporated into the beef. for a first try at the recipe, I think it was a success.
Oh absolutely! I'm strongly tempted to give it a try this weekend.
definitely worth trying out! if you do try it, let me know how it goes!
Wow you sound like a master chef!! I need to try that sometime! I have made french onion soup before so I know exactly what you are talking about!
Mine were pretty basic. I just mixed some Worcester, salt and pepper and cooked in a George Foreman grill. lol My little trick is for the buns, I butter them, or in our case, I use butter spray, and put in a frying pan and cover. You have to keep a close eye on them but it makes the buns so good and soft with a crunch on the inside.
Welcome!! :-) Your UN looks so familiar, I must have talked to you at some point when I played here a few years ago. Or on a giveaway board.
You can never overkill with crispy fried onions! :-P
